| See i always change my mind. Sometimes i like Joey with Dawson romantically and Joey just friend with pacey but than i watch a episode and decide i like joey with pacey romantically and Dawson and Joey being best friends or soul mates cuz it seems to fit them more. But if i had to pick one i would say for the majority of the time i have been watching this show i have liked Joey with Dawson. Currently i am a Joey/Pacey fan which surprises me cuz with these hour long dramas i tend to like the less popular couples like Lorelai/Christopher and Buffy and Angel. lol |

Ok. This is always hard. In season one I was hardcore Dawson and Joey - I went so far as to flip off Jen Lindley when she was on screen and call her things like harlot and homewrecker... even though its not like D/J were married or dating or anything!
I always had this sort of fear though that what they had was more friendship sort of soulmates than romantic.. and what made the romance so enticing was the fact they never explored it... and later that it never seemed to be the right time - leaving for college, the death of mitch, etc... I was concerned like Joey was in Season 2 that she wasnt going to be her own person or grow because her and dawson were like a living time capsule.. I still wanted them together though - I mean Jack was sweet and shy and artistic but I'm like hey you're ruining everything!
I didn't even consider Joey and Pacey until he made his move.. I had inklings when he first kissed Joey after the snails incident.. but just figured he was just realizing he was attracted to her - not that it was really a feeling thing at that point..
It wasn't until Dawson had that horrid relationship with Eve and turned Joey away... later asked Pacey to watch after Joey... and those two P/J got closer that I started to see something real. I was still just hoping for Eve to get lost and Dawson to open his eyes - then Joey had that brief relationship with AJ - the more Pacey made his feelings evident to the audience the more I rooted for him against my better D/J judgement.. and by the time he'd kissed her after picking her up from the trip to the college to see AJ.. I was right there with him feeling his pain knowing she would feel bad about exploring it because of Dawson..
P/J's secret romance and stolen kisses... it was all so passionate, and not in a sexual way.. When she met him at the True Love... I could have cried I was so happy! But then when they -were- together finally and officially and everyone knew... Joey hid the truth from Dawson about them sleeping together, and I really think that was the start of P/J' s problems... but the same thing that kept D/J apart started pushing P/J apart when they got back from sea... insecurity - in this case Paceys not hers... him putting himself down for his grades or lack of direction - when Joey never looked down on him for that.. He really screwed up - PROM was a nightmare - going from junior anti-prom where pacey proved he knew Joey (the adult) better to causing a scene and breaking her heart senior year...
Then when she and Dawson had the same moment in the finale of season 4 as they did in season 1 I was back rooting for D/J because the P/J seemed horribly sabotaged and D/J have that bond you can't deny.. Then one problem after another for D/J in the college years once they had a real shot and finally "got together" and everything was still screwed up... Audrey was just in the way of Pacey getting with Joey right away - but thats tv drama for you.. "The Castaways" is like one of my favorite episodes ever because its just the two of them - so when the finale rolled around I was ultimately hoping and praying she'd realize that she and Pacey belonged together and what she and Dawson had could never be replaced but shouldnt be mistaken for romantic love...
Whew. So.. in the end I guess you can call me a converted Pacey / Joey supporter - they proved their love to me. But its funny because when I watch reruns I go through the same emotional cycle of D/J P/J D/J P/J all over again!
JOEY & PACEY!!!
I've always been more interested in the couples that arn't meant to be together. If all relationships were easy we wouldn't be interested in them watching or living. Joey & Pacey much better than Dawson who bored me quite a bit.
Just like Buffy & Spike and Veronica & Logan... opposites attract!!! ![]()
