It has potential. But in order for it to succeecd, it has to be believable. And in order for it to be believable, it's got to be reasonably downbeat and depressing (I guess you have to strike a fine line; if it is too depressing, people won't watch). It has to deal realistically with supply shortages (food, medicine, fuel, etc), rising anger, solitude, the weather (droughts killing crops) and other emergencies that occur on an almost random basis. The writing has to be top notch and not dumbed down.
But based on the trailer, I'm not optimistic. I just do not see it being as good as Survivors (series 1,2,3 or the remake), Jeremiah or The Last Train. If there is 'an alien angle'; I'm not interested in it. If it is strictly a terrestrial based show, I'll give it a shot. I reqlly did not like the way that cell phones appeared to still work after the event. That's the kind of thing you have to keep out of this show.
