Ep. #9579
AIRED:
PREVIEW: Chloe bids Brady farewell and exits Salem; Mimi and Rex team up for a grisly task. SUMMARY: Chloe arrives at The Blue Note for her performance. The club is not yet open. Chloe overhears Brady and a stagehand pointing out that there really is no future for Chloe as a singer in Salem. Meanwhile, unaware that Chloe is nearby, Philip comes to meet with Brady. The guys put their differences aside and decide they both want what's best for Chloe. Meanwhile, one of the Blue Note singers talks to Chloe about the opportunity before her. Later, Philip tells Chloe that he thinks she should go and not make the same mistakes he made by holding on too tightly to the one you love. Chloe tells Brady that she has accepted Cecilia's offer. Brady, trying not to show that his heart is breaking, assures her that this is what's best for her. Chloe tells Brady that after she finishes the song she will leave tonight. With one last kiss, she is gone. Bo shocks Hope with the price tag of how much setting up shop as bounty hunters is going to cost them, and then shocks her more with his plan to finance it -- they have to sell the Fancy Face. Later, Bo and Hope go to the boat. Hope, flooded by memories, says that she can't do this. Bo promises her that all of their memories are in their heads and hearts, not on the boat, and she finally agrees. Bo comforts her and it turns passionate. He suggests they make one last memory and he leads her to the bed... In prison, Larry thinks that if he escapes, Bo and Hope will be chasing him forever. Nicole suggests that he fake his death. Larry thinks it's brilliant, but tells Nicole that she needs to come up with a dead body to substitute for his. Nicole's creeped out, but ultimately agrees. Later, Nicole, disguised in surgical greens, sneaks into the hospital morgue to shop for a corpse. Mimi and Rex are still driving around Salem trying to figure out how to dispose of a dead Rolf, who's still in the backseat. Mimi suggests Rex go to Tony for help, but Rex adamantly refuses. Rex finally tells Mimi who Rolf really was -- that he wasn't Professor Putnam and that Rolf was the one who engineered Rex and Cassie, and implanted them in Marlena. Mimi comes up with the idea to dump Rolf off at the morgue. After they succeed at dumping the body, they have a near miss with Nicole. Relieved, they celebrate with a kiss. • This is also Will Utay's final episode as Dr. Rolfe (alive, anyway). He has been with Days since 1997. Although he was never a full-contract player, he has appeared in many major storylines and his character will be missed. Look for the body of Dr. Rolfe to be hanging around for a bit though.

      • Arrivederci, Nadia
Another sad good-bye on the set of Days. Nadia Bjorlin has decided to try her hand elsewhere, leaving behind the role of Chloe that she's embodied for the past few years. Everyone in Salem will miss her beauty, her gorgeous voice and her wicked sense of humor. When we asked what was next, Nadia told us, "I'd like to start working again as soon as I can. That's sort of the reason I'm leaving; I'd like to venture out in the world and try other things. I've loved it here and I hope this will always be here for me, but I'm still young and I want to see what's out there." Also, she says that she hasn't had a real vacation in a couple of years, so she'll probably take "two or three weeks to go to Europe and just get away and have some fun." But then it's back to the grind, ready to find out, as she says, "whatever fate has in store for me."

On her last day on set, as is the tradition, Nadia got a small party, the gift of an hourglass and a "face cake." Speeches were made by Steve Wyman and Ken Corday, who spoke for everyone when he said, "All I can say is we love you and are going to miss you." Nadia's speech was somewhat less serious, but still full of sentiment. She said, "I just want to thank you all for some of the best years of my life… for corrupting me! I came here all naïve and innocent and look what you did to me! Special thanks to the hair and make-up department for all their wisdom and for making me look beautiful and for teaching me the importance of a flat iron and a good pair of tweezers. And to the cameramen for getting in just right when they knew my butt looked big in white pants. And for everybody, for loving me and for letting me love you."

We do love you, Nadia, and we will miss you. Click here for photos from her going away party. (courtesty of SoapCity.com)

      • A Wonderful Wrap-Up
Nadia finished taping with Days on May 22, 2003. She recently posted about her last day of taping on her message board:
"My last day was really hard to get through because everyone was so wonderful and it was a sentimental day; a lot of tears were shed. I already miss my friends and family on the show like crazy!"

      • Nadia Bjorlin exited her role as Chloe Lane in this episode. Her character went on tour to sing Opera in Europe, leaving behind a heart-broken Brady.
