I just heard about this movie tonight, hope it's good.

I do wish Rube was back, but things happen and maybe he was promoted. If they do make a new series, I would love it if they were able to bring back Betty, or answer what happened to her. I also wouldn't mind if they did a cross with Pushing Daisies.

There are conflicting reports on why Laura Harris wasn't asked back. the easy answer is that new role in Women's Murder Club was a conflict, but in an interview last May she implied she hadn't been asked. (Excerpt from http://movies.radiofree.com/interviews/deadlike_laura_harris.shtml )

Are there plans to make a Dead Like Me movie?

I've heard this. Apparently they are, but I don't think they've contacted my people about it. Or maybe they have. I don't know. Like there's rumors, and I think they may be seeing if people would be into it.

Earlier in the interview she said something that hinted at a possible discord in production crew that resulted in some being ready to throw in the towel by the end of season 2.

Dead Like Me was prematurely canceled after two seasons. Before it was axed, did you have the impression that you might have been with it for a few more years?

No. For a lot of people, it was over. And for other people, I'm not sure they were clued in to what was going on. It was plagued with troubles. And those troubles really matter when it comes to a show with so many people involved. You know, I'm so grateful to have done the show, but I'm very grateful to move on as well.

    So the mystery begins....

I preferred Rebecca Gayheart, she was a pistol. The movie should be out sometime this summer on DVD, EVERYONE BUY IT! And the show may come back.

Not a fan of the new Daisy, shes not as pretty, and doesn't seem to have the southern drawl. As well I'm interested to hear more about what Fuller would like to expand the "Dead Like Me" universe too. I'd love to see a series/book expand into what happen to Betty, into the Carnival, follow the Gravelings, Rube, and of course more Georgia!

The old Daisy isn't that pretty anymore. Well at least I don't think so. Her hair was dreadful on Womans Murder Club and it made her look too hard and much older than she actually is

I beg to differ, it made her look sleek and sexy, plus would make great sense considering all the turmoil she went through w/ the Gravelings, it could be seen as a clean start, trying to reclaim control over anything she can during her stressful situation.

Originally they were saying Spring 2008, but the last I heard it may be delayed until July or August. On the plus side, the delay may be due to adding extra material to the DVD.

News on the movie seems pretty scarce. Any one know if it will be TV movie, in theaters and direct to DVD? I love the show.

Ellen's appearance manager posted this today at ellen-muth.com:

    manager wrote:
The new Dead Like Me movie has been pushed back! The new release date will be sometime in 2009! Hopefully, it will be EARLY 2009! Sorry for the news everybody, but we just found out! Ellen did, however, have a very successful ADR session and was able to re-dub the lines they needed, record the narration, and do the entire 90 minute commentary with the director in one day! She was awesome, and it was quite an experience. I owe the most amazing times of my life to this wonderful lady. It is an unbelievable privilege working for, and with her. We had a blast at Grand Slam and took tons of pics. I'm having a problem with my computer, but will get this sucker fixed and have the pics up soon!

So it looks like we have a bit more of a wait for this movie to come out. On the positive side, it's good to hear that they have added commentary to the DVD--this was something that was sorely missed in the 2nd season DVD set.

Thanks for the info, Icy. I hate that we have to wait so long, especially since the work has been done, but I reckon we'll get it eventually.

Mandy Patinkin dosn't stay in series' long, if they hint of popularity he leaves. but the Jury is still out as far as the movie is concerned.

There was an insert advertising the movie in the new release of Stargate: Continuum.

Too bad it's been put back. On YouTube there's a (supposed) trailer/preview for it.
