I became accustomed to The Walking Dead's hour episodes I was taken by surprise when this ended half an hour earlier. Nonetheless Dead Set is still able to pack a lot in its shorter span. Loads of character development, which is really the most essential part of any zombie apocalypse form of entertainment--something not many realize. Such as Patrick and Pippa's comedic and rather disturbing time together. Although Patrick once again rudely takes a dump in a trash can, Pippa can't help but cry. Although it was funny at first, her convincing acting makes you really sympathize with her. Also the scene when the group meet the police officers and how they handled the situation, like Kelly shooting one of them in the leg, really shows how the apocalypse is changing the way they think and take action. A great episode but at the same time Act 1 felt really really slow, and the trip to the pharmacy felt pointless after Angel ends up dying anyways--who takes down another character with her. It provided that great scene with the cops and perhaps moved things forward, but it could have done it in better alternative ways.
