  • The fishermen start to lose it as the season grinds on.

"Bering Sea dementia" is a problem crews will encounter as they get later and later into the work season. All the icy weather, steep waves and grueling tasks start to take their toll on the people. With little sleep and the need to stay in the elements all day, crew members must watch it that they don't go nuts. Hallucinations, fatigue and other troubles make some of the workers lose track of what they're doing, or lash out in an explosion of bad tempers. Two rookies on the Wizard get into a fight, and the crew of the Cornelia Marie also deal with poor health and uneasy tempers. Will they be able to wrap up the season and head safely home? It's one of the most riveting episodes of the year.moreless

    • Josh Harris: Bering Sea dementia. Every crab fisherman. That's a real crab fisherman. Will experience it quite often. Got to start feeling like a little (whistles like a crazy person while the other crew members act erratically) Just don't stick on all fours for a couple months. The symptoms for Bering Sea dementia consist of not thinking properly  (a deckhand on the Cornelia Marie lights himself on fire then cut to Edgar Hanson lighting himself on fire on board the Northwestern as well as crew member stuck in crab pots, Freddy eating a dead fish)  no sleep  (various shots of the crew on other boats acting crazy including Matt Bradley hiding inside the coiler on the Northwestern) , too much work  (Cut to clips of crew members in Halloween costumes on deck singing show tunes, Captain Jonathan doing his crab dance, Jake Harris throwing crab parts at people on deck,) nightmares while you're still awake (clip shown of a crew member trying to pin down a huge fish that has been caught in a crab pot while another crew member counts down like in a wrestling match)...just random things (scene ends with the Harris brothers slapping each other, Keith dancing in the wheelhouse of the Wizard, Captain Andy singing, Sig making faces and the Harris brothers again playing)

    • Keith Colburn: (On the two Greenhorn fighting) Fists start flying, bages start packing on this boat. That is something I do not tolerate

    • Sten Skar: (To Darrel Labay) Take this experience and learn from it and apply it to whatever you do in life.

    • Sig Hansen: (On the iccing) The worst case scenario, she can roll over and sink.
