Deadliest Catch

Im glad to say that all the drama is out of the way and its back to the reason why I started watching this show in the first place. The danger, the comradere, the pranks, the catch, and the reward.



It is great to see that the Sea is not being friendly to them like last year, despite they had all of that ice. This, I feel is a turning point episode that gets the show bacl to the roots of it all, and back to fishing the Opies.. Hope it continues on...

An astonishing episode that takes Deadliest Catch back to its roots when it was a bare bone series with no fancy film work, just a bunch of guys that are filming what these guys are doing with little to money invested into it. And they should of renamed this episode “Breakdown” because they were a ton of machine and emotional breakdowns in this episode.



That's the Deadliest Catch that I haven't seen in the past couple of episodes and it seem that they were lagging in both the dangers and the excitement that I used to seeing in the two pervious years, there were a ton of recapping in the few couple of episodes and it dragged down the pace of the series and it seems that maybe Discovery fired the pervious editors and brought back the ones that edited the show in the past two years. Whatever they did they brought the series back to finest form and the form that the hardcore fans of the series welcomed to see, with a quick recap of the pervious episode’s events and then we jump into the action with no sugar coating it.. It also seems that whenever the weather kicks up in this series, the season kick up on a high note and dose that let go into the entire season is over with, this happen last year with the Aleutian Ballard and the rouge wave that smack her. It seems that this snow crab season will be no expectation to the rule.



The breakdowns start small with the Time Bandit and their King Collier being snapped off its moorings like it was a tooth pit and while I have seen the force that moving water can do it things, with the footage of the Aleutian Ballard, but that took place at night, this took place during the day hours, which made the footage better, but the rouge wave that they showed, to me wasn’t that impressive, it seems to a normal wave that we have seen washed over the decks of these crab boats before. Next one the list of breakdowns is the Wizard and once again the strength of moving water is once again display when somehow a huge wall of water went over the deck of the boat and disable their crane. I like the fact that in the second half of the season, the Wizard is getting more air time and Wizard and her captain is quickly becoming a favorite among this fan. It seems that Keith is an unflappable captain that seems to take everything in strive and dose not get to much unset about his crew



Poor Northwestern, it gone from bad to worst for them with the problem with their main engine. This is going to be a long season for Sig and the crew, and while this might of happen before with Sig in his 20+ years fishing this is the first time that we are seeing it. When I saw the description for next week episode, I knew that he would have problems with his boat and I thought that I would see him swearing, which he has done before in the pervious years, but Sig kept his mouth clean and stay clam despite the dangers that he was truly in, which can never be truly caught on film, one has to be in the middle of it to really feel the dangers that Sig and crew were in. He somehow found a way to get the boat back to port and look at to see what is truly wrong with his boat, and I should note, the Northwestern is certainly one of the best maintained boat in the fleet and it clearly showed that even a good maintained boat, can and will have a breakdown, because machines will break down, no matter how much to kept them in check, one can’t guess what part will break down or what won’t. One just has to go with the flow.



But, I could of clearly done without the family drama on the Cornelia Marie and the Farwest Leader and it seems that whenever the Farwest Leader dose something that make them go on my good side, they do something that put them on my bad side, like with Greg fighting with his wife over the weather. With my only grip in this episode.



Unlike with the pervious episodes of late, I really look forward to night week episode and it seems that the breakdowns in the fleet are still showing up and the wicked weather that was the main villain(which should be the real one, not somebody) in this episode is once again back for another round of fighting with the rest of the fleet that haven’t been batted by the weather yet.
