  • Not your typical recap episode.

Not a typical recap episode that has been seen before with Survivor or the Amazing Race and with it being a recap episode there was a little bit of new footage in there, like when Andy used the ice on his deck to visual explained how the ice chucks drag the pots, which I thought was nice touch and I think that it should of been in the first broadcast, it would of better for the fans to truly understand what a chuck of ice flow can do to their gear. We also saw some great home shot footage of some really nasty seas and what the guys call "Savage Sunday", that suck two boats, but lucky nobody was killed on that day. That the Time Bandit under John's command, lost her RADAR during that time and how he heard one MAYDAY after another one, that got so bad on that day that they overlap each other. Also seem that the Rollo was also caught up in it as well, I felt so bad for Eric while he was in command of that boat during that day, but he manage to find a way to get the boat afloat during that storm. A little more explanation of Phil's boat engine problems and how long he was stuck in port because of it, three days. That guy that dose repair work for his boat dose it for every boat in the fleet. With I felt added an extra element of background knowledge about these guys and why they act the way that they do.

What I think was the best part in this episode was the fact that Mike once again was in Dutch, but unlike last year's recap episode where we got some great visuals of him standing in port, and various spots while in Dutch Harbor. He talk to some of the fishermen, like Phil, Jake, Rick, Sig, and Edgar about some of the more memorable monuments from the second season. The best one was when Sig was explaining how he dose safely on his boat, that he put the guys in positions that he feels that they are the best at, they stay in those spots until the job get done. That it not the type of safely that a non-fishermen would think of. I also like it how Sig throws no punches while he dose an interviews, he will still curse like he would if he was inside of his boat’s wheelhouse.

My only complain is the fact that while Edgar, Rick, Phil, and Rick all look good, especially Phil with his new cut hair, Sig on the other hand look like he was in bad shape.moreless
