  • A good start of the new season, would of been better if Discovery did release so many previews on-line and on TV.

Its April, and you know what that means, a new season of Deadliest Catch is upon us and like what happen last year there has been a bunch of backstory that have been flying around and this time it about the firing of Russell Newberry from the Time Bandit between the Opie season. So I am looking forward to see how the editors will treat this guy, but from the preview that I have seen, they won't be to kind on it, which is shame because this guy is darn good deckhand that has help the Time Bandit gain the popularity with the fans. That's another time that I have to nitpick about Discovery, they release to many previews either on-line or on TV that it felt like there was nothing new about this episode, unlike the early seasons episodes where nothing was release for the episodes and thus everything was new. The only exception of Phil and his health problems, but I knew about him not running the Cornelia Marie because of some non-Discovery's blogs that mention that he wasn't running her this season.

Also, I don't like what the Northwestern is doing this year, wearing their own rain gear with their own sayings on it, on the show, talk about ramming your product down a person's throat. Yes, I get it that the Northwestern is the most popular boat on the series, but there might be some fans who might not like them and doing this might not score points with them and might drive them further away from liking them. While the biting the Herring was a nice twist, but as a mention before, I knew Sig was going to do it, because Discovery release it on-line, so I was surprised by it. If Discovery didn't do this, then I would of laughed at it, but I didn't.

Also where are the Trailblazer and the Lisa Marie at? According to Discovery's blogs that these boats had a film crew on board them and would of like to seen them because in the first episode it would of added some variety to the show.

What about the Wizard? That is shame, because Keith Colburn is one of the most respected skipper on Deadliest Catch among his peers and would of like to see his season started out on a better foot then being broke, injured, and ding up boat. The only good thing was the fact that Keith avoided a scare and might be improving his lifestyle because of it.
