According to Discovery Channel's researchers the footage of the Aleutian Ballad being side swipped by the 65ft rouge wave is the first time that it was caught on film.

The Aleutian Ballad did survive the impact of the rouge wave, but not completely intact. For on the deck of the ship she received a 20 foot gash and the captain's daughter, Nicole got a badly bruised elbow after being tossed into one of galley's doors, which also got damaged as well.
