The Cornelia Marie pulls the first prank of the season when they weld shut one of the pots of the Maverick.
Wizard deckhand Lenny Lekanoff suffers the first major injury on a featured boat this season. His left pinky finger is smashed by a swinging pot.
(On seeing the Northwestern in the same area as their boat) Greg Moncrief: That's Sig all right. Hey, Ragnhild, look its Mr. Northwestern. Ragnhild Moncrief: That's why he is so popular, because he knows what is doing. Greg Moncrief(scoffs): Don't say that, you makes his head swell bigger than it always is.
Keith Colburn: It only takes one bad wave to ruin your day.
Greg Moncrief:(on his wife) You can tell a Norwegian...you just can't tell'em anything.
Russel Newberry:(afer hitting his elbow)When your hit your funny bone, its not funny. Why do they call it a funny bone?
Sig Hansen:(on after Edgar getting crap on by a seagull and the bad fishing)Maybe we're the get the guys to stand on the bow so all get hit by all of the seagulls. A little luck never hurt anybody.
Keith Colburn: Nobody's lost any body parts on this boat and we're not about to start now.
Phil Harris: (commenting on the prank) That's how you screw with somebody, Cornelia Marie style!
Josh Harris: (commenting on their welding one of the Maverick's pots shut) Monster Garage stuff right here.
(after listening in on a radio conversation where Blake Painter goes back on a promise he had with him) Phil Harris: They don't come any more arrogant than him.
(after explaining how he cares for Matt Bradley and his legal situation) Sig Hanson: This is a business. We're fishing. Tough luck!

Phil reveals a favorite spot to Blake on the promise that Blake will not reveal it to any one else. Blake breaks the promise a few hours later in a radio conversation. Phil listens in on this conversation. This precipitates the prank of welding one of the Maverick's pots shut.
Northwestern deckhand Matt Bradley reveals he must be at a court date in two weeks. If he fails to appear, he could face up to eight months in jail. He conceals this situation from Captain Sig until this point in the season, Sig is less than pleased.
