Deadliest Catch

This week's episode is a mixed bag of the good and the bad in reguards of taste. The Best and the Worst of this episode: The Worst- was the rearing of the footage from last week episode, most of the time when they do a recap of last week episode, it maybe 4 to 5 minutes long, but this one was about 10 minutes long. I thought maybe they could of gloss over the operation that they found an empty survival suit, then found an empty life raft, which was sunk, and then a car carrier help out, which they were able to find the lone survivor. Also the overlay of the footage with the fleet's reaction to the sinking, wasn't the best idea either. We knew that a boat sunk, two bodies were found, there was one survivor, that one of the crew member is missing, and that the Coast Guard has called off the search. Okay can we please move on from it? If they did not do that, I think I would of ratted the episode a little higher. They could of done what they have done in the past years when something like this happen, just show he reaction of the crab fleet. The viewer would of gotten the same emtional reaction to it, but I guess the editors and the producers of the series thought that we were ready to see one of these operations as the Coast Guard see it, even if I don't agree with it.



The Good - Raghnild of the Farwest Leader, not only did see recovery over her sea sickness, she thrive over it to cook dinner for the guys, did you see that cake that she baked for the crew, jeez that thing was huge! She also went on Deck after she lost her bet with her husband and I thought that she would be a fish out of water when she did that. At first she was, but she quickly learned the ropes of deck life and her crew accepted her as one of them, that was crowed by the fact that she held up a King Crab in the same fashion that the guys do to a camera. I also love the fact that she wants to go back on deck to do it again.



The Best- Sig in a private monument inside of the Northwestern's wheelhouse showing his emotions, which he isn't afarid to do, but he done in the past by showing up his humor and his anger, but this time he showed his gentle side by sheading some tears. When I saw this moument in the preview trailer for the first time, I thought that his tears were because of the Ocean Challenger's sinking, but I found out in this episode that it wasn't just that, but a whole bunch of stuff that just can down like a load of bricks on him. Also want to take some time to highlight the Coast Guard in this episode, that while the footage was harsh and some of it was showned in bad taste, like showing the bodies in the floating in the water like pieces of debris, even if was blured out it did show them doing what they do good, try to save people from sinking ships.
