As far as DW episodes go, this one was impressive. The weapon tests were fair and as far as they go, they were quite impressive. The light machine guns practically destroyed the cinderblock walls, for example, and the light rifles for the medium-range combat were quite fairly matched. The X-factors appeared rather fairly matched as well, though they didn't appear to be featuring much in the final simulation, and neither did the tactics - but personally I reckon that the "Tactics" have partially taken over the role of "special weapons" from the previous seasons - nowadays the show appears to be testing three weapons on the average, rather than four...
As for the "Live" section, it was rather cool too. The supposed influence of the show's fans influencing the victory of one team over the other was quite neat. It is a nice development, and one that could've been used in, say, "US Rangers vs. NKSOF" episode, for example.
Overall, the "French Foreign Legion vs. Indian Gurkhas" episode was a success, and I rate it as such.moreless
