  • In this episode of DW, 26 president Theodore Roosevelt faces-off against legendary Lawrence of Arabia. Who is deadliest?

Well, what do you know? History does repeat itself, and the American militaryforce proves to be victorious on DW's battlefield. Such a surprise! But perhaps a not unexpected one.

Undoubtedly, there were precendents for the American team to win on DW. Look no further than the "US Rangers vs NKSOF" episode (half a percent? Really?), but, unlike the previous instances of such victories, here team Roosevelt may be on to something.

The machine guns. Vickers overheating is not unexpected, this has happened before, at least once - the "Somali pirates vs. Medellin cartel" episode. Such weapons can overheat, even in a controlled environment of DW's firing range, so yes, it could have happened in the heat of a real battle, and Gatling's gun had earned its edge.

The rifles? They were actually judged even, so you can't go fairer than that. Team Lawrence doesn't have anything to complain about here, and the same goes for the jambiya vs. bowie comparison - team Lawrence actually won there.

Finally, the tactics. Here DW has actually implemented their contestants tactics, especially Lawrence's false retreat: this made the stimulated battle very, very cool. The final showdown in trenches may have been a bit out of mode, and more mainstay WWI than either of these fighters would've been truly comfortable with, but it was still amazing.

3 cheers for the DW show, for team Roosevelt, and the amazing episode, then!moreless
