Contestant: Katie Henslin of Forest Lake, Minnesota returns to finish her Million Dollar Mission game with eleven of the million dollar cases left.
  • Character development....at its worst. Katie Henslin shows she has no logic at all when she refuses to risk it all for her daughter...on a downside she calls impossible. Twice blowing a million dollars for nothing, Katie is rich, but definitely not smart.moreless

With thirteen cases containing a million dollars, the Million Dollar Mission has clearly overextended itself. But will it lead to a million dollars? Nope. Should it have? Yes!!

Most of the early gameplay is standard Million Dollar Mission stuff, only at higher levels. But it doesn't get remarkable until the offers reach rare levels in the regular world: $405,000!

The banker's threat of posting a billboard defaming Katie as a "loser" as long as she isn't a millionaire has led to a 60% chance of being humiliated. Still being certain, Katie rides the game out to three cases: one with $200 and two millions. The offer is ridiculously low: $491,000, and this is easily refused. One of the greater moments in this show comes on the next case, which could lead to instant millionaire status if chosen correctly. (This has only happened once before.) Only 22 and 7 remain in the gallery. Going against the bench which has supported her the entire way, Katie chooses 7, to bad results.

Now, there is only $200 and a million dollars. The offer drops itself to $449,000, leaving Katie in an imbroglio. However, all along, she has insisted her case is one of the million-dollar cases. Her bench agrees with her and wants her to go until the bitter end, even her husband. It's all set up for a $1,000,000 win...Or is it?

No, we have Katie going to her little daughter and saying that she cannot risk it for her. Now, logically, that would mean: Not having turned down more than this amount, and not messing with any sort of million-in-here spiel. And she says she watches the show? Then you know how to do it, right?

I scream silently as Katie announces that: "If I leave with $449,000, I do not see how that would be losing."

But then, is winning $491,000 not losing? Nothing I can do about it...:(

Katie has been pulled away from the million dollars..that was right there! Nnnnnnnooooooooooooo! It was there!

And she would also have won if she'd listened to the case suggestion in round 9!

If you could not risk it, why did it take so long to figure it out, why did you say you could, and why did you refuse more? I refuse to believe anyone's explanation of her behavior, because I do not support stupidity, period. This was one of the worst decision-makers I've seen for a long time.

But the suspense at least gives this some value. But if you have any IQ under 80, feel free to watch this.moreless
  • Million so close...

Katie Henslin started her Million Dollar Mission game with thirteen of the million dollar cases. Katie had a good first round, getting a record $288K bank offer. But then it went downhill for her as she opened six of the million cases on consecutive picks. With eight cases left, Katie had five of the million cases remaining, but opened a million case on her next two picks. Katie turned down the $491K bank offer with three cases left and two of them million cases, but she opened a million case next. Katie took the $449K deal with two cases left and $200 as the other case. Turns out Katie had the million in her case.moreless
  • and yet another miss for the million dollar quest

Hey you had to feel with a 50-50 shot at the begining that the contestant might win the million. But in the end she took the sure thing of 441thousand dollars. The shock was that her case did contain a million dollars but she did not want to take a 1 of 2 chance that it might contain just 200 dollars. A wise move I thought and I'm sure her family thought because most of them told her to take the deal. And now that the million dollar mission is over the show has yet to have its first million dollar winner and there was no expectations of the mission continuing. The cheesey cheerleaders that the banker sent out to cheer everytime another million dollar case was hit was stepping to another low for the banker. Will he really post that billboard with Kristen's picture showing looser? I don't think so it wqould be too much bad pr.moreless
