With thirteen cases containing a million dollars, the Million Dollar Mission has clearly overextended itself. But will it lead to a million dollars? Nope. Should it have? Yes!!
Most of the early gameplay is standard Million Dollar Mission stuff, only at higher levels. But it doesn't get remarkable until the offers reach rare levels in the regular world: $405,000!
The banker's threat of posting a billboard defaming Katie as a "loser" as long as she isn't a millionaire has led to a 60% chance of being humiliated. Still being certain, Katie rides the game out to three cases: one with $200 and two millions. The offer is ridiculously low: $491,000, and this is easily refused. One of the greater moments in this show comes on the next case, which could lead to instant millionaire status if chosen correctly. (This has only happened once before.) Only 22 and 7 remain in the gallery. Going against the bench which has supported her the entire way, Katie chooses 7, to bad results.
Now, there is only $200 and a million dollars. The offer drops itself to $449,000, leaving Katie in an imbroglio. However, all along, she has insisted her case is one of the million-dollar cases. Her bench agrees with her and wants her to go until the bitter end, even her husband. It's all set up for a $1,000,000 win...Or is it?
No, we have Katie going to her little daughter and saying that she cannot risk it for her. Now, logically, that would mean: Not having turned down more than this amount, and not messing with any sort of million-in-here spiel. And she says she watches the show? Then you know how to do it, right?
I scream silently as Katie announces that: "If I leave with $449,000, I do not see how that would be losing."
But then, is winning $491,000 not losing? Nothing I can do about it...:(
Katie has been pulled away from the million dollars..that was right there! Nnnnnnnooooooooooooo! It was there!
And she would also have won if she'd listened to the case suggestion in round 9!
If you could not risk it, why did it take so long to figure it out, why did you say you could, and why did you refuse more? I refuse to believe anyone's explanation of her behavior, because I do not support stupidity, period. This was one of the worst decision-makers I've seen for a long time.
But the suspense at least gives this some value. But if you have any IQ under 80, feel free to watch this.
