Dean Martin: What a career this man has had. He first starred in pictures during that golden year of handsome leading men. Jimmy there's very few of your kind left just you, Xavier Cugat, Lawrence Welk ... He's shy, last week back in Honolulu, he was having lunch with Dolly Parton. When the waitress said, "What would you like in your coffee?" He said, "Nothing". He was too shy to say two lumps. I don't know of a nicer guy then him. He's the only person I know who would interrupt an orgy to ask if anyone wanted coffee or cake. Last night I took Jimmy to see "Hallejuah Hollywood" here at the MGM hotel, one dancer came out topless, Jimmy ran up on the stage and tried to cover her up with his hat, fortunately he has a small head. At the hotel here he has a room next to mine and I know everytime he's in a romantic mood, I can hear his wife Gloria snoring. He's such a poor soul, every night his wife makes him take out the garbage and he lives in a hotel! There's a statue of Jimmy in the Wax Museum and the statue talks better than he does.
Milton Berle: Tonight ladies and gentlemen we are honoring Jimmy Stewart a man who has brought new meaning to the word valium. That's it smile Jimmy, you look like a basset hound who forgot where he buried his bone. This man we are honoring, this darling of the menopause set has been a giant in Hollywood for forty years.
June Allyson starred with Jimmy Stewart in the 1953 movie The Glenn Miller Story and 1955's Strategic Air Command.
Jesse White was Jimmy's co-star in the movie Harvey.
