  • It seems to me that involving the Yotsuba Corporation is going to remove all the great Light and L moments from the series.

The beginning was very intense, definitely put me on the edge of my seat. I thought they executed the whole scene really well. It also had some of the best animation we've seen in a while. Unfortunately, I didn't like the funny antics in the second half of the episode. Misa's personality has not changed at all, she's full of spunk and driving the investigation team crazy. Her squeaky voice got on my nerves.

I'm not sure if I like the ending. It looks like this will open a whole new arc of the story where Light and L will work together to capture the third Kira. And after that, I'm expecting Light's plan to be set in motion. It's boggling my mind to think how he is going to get the Death Note back without L finding out about it.
  • Light and Misa are released by L after being under surveillence for so long.

I was at the edge of my seat watching this episode of Death Note. Each episode makes me fall in love with it more and more. When Light and Misa were being relieased, and Light's father said they were going to be executed, my jaws dropped. I knew it couldn't happen, but then I saw Light's father point a gun at his own son. It was so believable, and then hearing the gun shot, I knew it couldn't be true but for a second, I thought Light might have actually been a goner. A truly convincing performance indeed. I also found it very amusing when Misa was arguing with L about staying with Light 24/7. Poor Light, being handcuffed to L. I also couldn't believe how "painfully obvious" Misa made it that she was the second Kira. She really needs to think before she speaks. Now, most people might already know that this was part of Light's plan. Apparently, there may be 3rd Kira...=O
  • An all-encompassing episode.

Some startling developments, hmm? Who would have thought that Light would have to go through an ordeal like this in his adventures as not-Kira? They only get more exciting from here.

The episode was balanced in all aspects. It didn't focus on one set of characters too much, had a good amount of tension, and was able to take a step back and be humorous. Not all series can say they've accomplished this difficult feat in a single episode. It's episodes like this that make me love Death Note.

If y'all need to be convinced to watch the series, this will be the point at which you realize you've stumbled across something truly amazing.

I give this episode a 9.7/10 on a Death Note scale.
  • Well thats what series 2 is going to be about...

Finally i get to see how they were going to do Series 2 but now there is no need to wonder. After the 8 humans who all may be Kira have now appeared does this mean that L will not die? If so i couldn't be happier. So in this episode we finally see another act of L when he is thinking Kira is Light and the cover up was great when his dad had to act like he would kill himself and his son. And to be honest i defiantly thought he was going to shoot and that a Ryuuk would save him, but i was wrong. The plot for this episode was very great and was interesting to see Rem be with a new owner, who has been continuing the events. This episode also brings back Misa as stil a main character :D and she is more bubbly than ever which is also good news. The show is starting to get into the swing of things after a few bad episodes and i'm starting to enjoy it. Thanks for reading

    Enjoy

  • Better and better…

Truly the best episode so far… I can’t possibly see the story getting more interesting…

The whole emotional mess Light and Misa go through in this episode is intoxicatingly awesome and nerve-wracking; I might never forget it… A final climax to that chaotic chapter…

This, of course, completely changes the plot of the story and serves to keep it all fresh, like the whole show somehow manages to do, seamlessly, episode after episode…

L shows his brutal precision in this episode, serving to show us that he has imagination, an excellent intellect, and most certainly… some balls. Definitely continually shocked by everything that has happened in this episode…
  • It's Light, but not as we know him.

This was the first episode where we really got too see the "new" Light. And i haven't made up my mind how much i like it... Don't get me wrong, this episode was still awesome, especially the charachter progression of L. The stunt pulled by Yagami-san and L with the whole Execution thing, was good, as we began to see a more obsessive side to L. Not that he's ever been your average mildly interested investigator, but it's beginning to seem as if he will take things too far to get what he wants. Theres only so far you can go so that the ends justify the means.

Secondly, getting back to Light, i think the show dipped a bit when Light stopped being the evil genius as it were, but im sure theres surprises in store that'l more than compensate for this!
  • This episode I felt was just meant to get the story along. Not to great for a few reasons. Utterly Predictable.

    "Poor"
I've watched Death Note from the beginning and have loved it. This episode I felt is the worst one to date. It was predictable how Light's father was acting, though it seemed quite serious one would know there's no way they'd have it end like that unless they have are idiots. The adding of "businessmen Kira" was sort of random and somewhat more intriguing. I like how they changed the plot to make it harder for us to see the battle between Kira and L. All in all this episode was a filler and just there to move the storyline.
  • Light and Misa's confinement ends. Insight is given to why Light imprisoned himself. Light and Misa do not remember their death notes and still deny they are Kira. L keeps them under surveillance. The murders continue and a 3rd Kira emerges.

Yagami Light and Misa's confinement comes to an end. More insight is given to the reason why Light had himself imprisoned and it suggests collaboration between himself and Rem. Light and Misa have no memories of their death notes and continue to deny that they have anything to do with Kira. L continues to keep them under surveillance in his newly erected skyscraper. He even goes as far as handcuffing himself to Light in order to watch over him 24 hours a day. In the mean time, the murders are continuing and Misa's death note find itself in the hands of a 3rd Kira.

Excellent job continuing the story. I think it did a better job explaining the situation than the manga. Very well done.
