  • I really enjoyed watching Light's schemes in this episode. Seemingly flawless.

So the Death Note has some limitations after all: things have to be realistic. It's kind of ironic that its not realistic in anyway itself. Anyway, this episode may be my favorite so far. Now, Light is using criminals as pawns against the people who oppose him.

This episode showed us how good he is at planning things out. His scheme to get the name of the agent following him pretty clever. I really didn't expect him to get that creative. And using paper from the Death Note was a masterful touch. Ryuk must be happy that it fell into such capable hands. I love how Ryuk was just standing there talking to himself as the criminal was shooting him.

But what will Light's next move be? If he kills the investigator right away, then it might make him look suspicious. But if he doesn't kill him, the guy could report that all kinds of weird things happened while he was tailing Light. In comparison to the other people he must be tailing, the only one with such outlandish events happening is Light. The other people he is investigating must be pretty boring, so Light may have only succeeded in drawing attention to himself.
  • Light test the death note and tries to reveal the name of the person who was following him.

In this episode Light tests the death note a bit more. He tests to see what he can make his victims do before they die. He tests it 3 times and learns that he can't make his victims do certain thing. It was a good advantage for Light to know that he could test the notebook without anybody knowing that he was kira. Light also tries to reveal the name of the person who was following him. His way of figuring out his name was very interesting. His plan went perfectly and it ended in the outcome that he wanted. The episode was good.
  • Very clever, Mr. Yagami, very clever indeed!

Light just doesn't know when to quit, does he? Well, first he refuses Ryuk's offer of obtaining the Shinigami's Eyes. He tells Ryuk that he wants to increase his life span, not shorten it. He plans of playing God for a very long time. Then Light begins to experiment with the Death Note. He writes the names of six criminals in it. He alters the details of death so that the inmates do a number of weird things before they die. Three of them did logical things. One drew a picture on the wall in blood, another wrote a strange note, and the other broke out of his cell and ran to the bathroom. However, Light comanded that the other three do strange things as well, but they were impossible. One was to die in front of the Eiffel Tower in one hour, one was to draw a picture of L's face on the wall, and the other was to write a note explaining everything he knew about the Kira Case. And from those, Light figures out that the Death Note can't do the impossible. Then he coems up with a plan to determine the name of the investigator who is stalking him. The man follows him onto a bus when he is on a date. (LOL, she's dating The Kira! :P) The bus stops, and a criminal that Light saw on the news boards the bus and tries to hijack it. The stalker tries to calm Light and his girlfriend down, but Light accuses him of being an accomplise. The stalker determines that Light is not The Kira and shows his ID badge. Raye Penber. Now Light can kill him. Other stuff happens, and the criminal accidently touches a page of the Death Note and is able to see Ryuk now. The sight of the Shinigami scares the crap out of him and he runs out of the bus, only to be hit and killed by a passing car.
  • That was a stunning piece of work that left me loving it more and more.

That was a stunning piece of work that left me with a love for the show more and more.

Light has a complex plan with the Death Note. He uses a dangerous drug addict as a part of teh plan. And such a criminal dies at exactly 11:45 A.M. as written in the Death Note.

    Cool!!!!!! I love it!

The criminal takes teh bus hostage. Light drops a paper from the Death Note and teh criminal gets it and throws it away. But then he sees Ryuk, and uses all his bullets on Ryuk, but Ryuk didn't die. The criminal rushes out and gets in an accident, as written in teh Death note.

A marvelous episode that would have been enough to beat all the bad epsiodes in 24 Season 6.
  • The action finally starts unwinding, and we learn a little bit more about how Light's brain works.

True to his new and improved god-self, Light has turned down the shinigami eyes deal. I mean, come on, as a god he has to live as long as he possibly can! Cutting his lifespan in half would be just ridiculous. Of course I always hoped he would anyway...

Light decides to do a little more work than that in order to find his stalker's name. First, he kills criminals with meticulous detail in order to see just how far the Death Note can go. Perhaps he even sends L a cryptic message in the process.

Having obtained his information, he plans an elaborate busjacking in which the FBI agent following him is forced to show Light his ID. Even though I'm about as anti-Light as you can get, I always thought this was a brilliant move on his part. I just can't help but applaud his genius in this episode.
  • Definitly one of the best episodes this series can provide, it is only episode 4!

It's the fourth week since the premire of Death Note's anime verison and it is already really heating up. Last week's episode wasn't so big and as exciting as the first two episodes, but this one really kicks it up.

We finally find out what Light decides on chosing to have the eyes or not. He then tries in the episode to find, and he does make, a perfect plan on how to discover the person's name of who is following him using a criminal he saw recently on the TV. This leads to one of the highest and most exciting points of the episode.

Overall, the new character's voices are decent and the animation is as always good. I can't wait to see what Light plans on doing next.

From this episode, it becomes clear that the rest of the series is going to be a full-out war of plans. He who plans best will emerge on top. Light's plan here is only the first of two parts, which will be seen the in next episode.

The plan in this episode was planned out to the T, save for one or two factors that were unlikely to occur; Raye reaching for the dropped piece of the Death Note or Light's date reaching for the dropped piece of the Death Note. It was like clock work the way it played out, and that in itself, despite the bloody outcome, is beautiful. One of the better episodes in my opinion.
  • The first real episode in the series...

    Simply exciting.

This episode is what I like to call the first real episode in the series. Before now we've been in sort of a introduction mode, learning all the basics and establishing the characters.

Now we finally get to see the starting of the main storyline. Light's plan is completely brilliant, and busjacker's reaction to seeing Ryuk almost comical.

After watching this episode you begin to think though, what if Light's plan had gone wrong. What if Raye Penber would have picked up the piece of the Death Note before the busjacker had even touched it? It makes you think doesn't it?
  • Awesome episode!

Amazing episode! I am so thankfully for amazing anime. Light declines the offer to get Ryuk's eyes, saying he wants to rule the world for as long as possible, and shortening his life span isn't a good idea. The stalker is still following Light, but Light comes up with a plan. He tests a theory by killing 5 more prisoners. He tells them what to do before they die, and if it's possible, they will do it. But, they cannot complete the inpossible, like go to Japan to France in a matter of minutes. Light calls a friend to lure the stalker on the same bus as them, and it works. Light wrote everything out. He has the criminal come on the bus and commit a highjacking with a loaded gun. Light gets the stalkers name, and finds out he is with the FBI. Light drops a piece of paper and the criminal goes back to yell at them, and he picks up the paper, reads it, and it was nothing. But, little did he know that he just touched a piece of paper from the Death Note, which means he can now see Ryuk. He freaks, out, shoots Ryuk (which doesn't work on a shinigami), gets off the bus, and gets hit by a car just like Light wrote in the Death Note! Amazing episode!
  • Light is a pure genious.

Light Yagami is a pure genious in this episode. What happens is that Light notices that some one is following him. So he cleverly plots a way to get rid of the man that is stalking him. This episode is one of my favorite episode and it is exactly why I enjoy watching this show. I still can not believe how Light managed to do that. This episode is just one of very many of Light's clever plans. Although I think L is smarter than Light and I side with L, this is probally one of Light's most clever plan in the series.

Light turns down Ryuk's offer to give him Shinigami eyes in exchange for half of his lifespan (Thank god). Light plans a master plan to throw off any suspicion that he is Kira. He goes on a date with a girl who likes him. They ride a bus, and the criminal light put his name in the death note shows up, hijacking the bus. Note that Raye is on the bus too (the police man who follows Light). So Light uses this to figure out his name. Raye shows him his ID since he no longer suspects Light and Light says he wants proof that he isn't an accomplice. When the hijacker touches a piece of the death note Light dropped purposely, he sees Ryuk, goes crazy, and runs out the bus, only to be hit by a car, killing him. Light used the death note to make this happen. Which at the time, threw off any suspicion of him being Kira and he got Raye's name. Light's skill and brilliant plans blow me up.
  • Light gets the name of the man following him by using a criminal in a busjacking.

Well, much to my relief Light turned down the shinigami eyes deal. He's still set on becoming a god once he's rid the world of all criminals, so in order for that to happen he needs as much of his lifespan as possible, I suppose. I just want to yell, "Dude, do you not know that gods are supposed to be immortal? Which you are not?"

He quickly sets a plan in motion to identify the man who's following him. The guy follows him right onto the bus he and his date are on, and shortly after a criminal who attempted to rob a bank gets on. Light accuses the other guy of being the criminal's accomplice, so the man has no choice but to show him his FBI ID to prove otherwise. In the end, the criminal dies in a car accident, but the big thing here was that Light got the name of his follower. I know it's too much for me to hope that Light will go easy on the guy, but the naive person in me is hoping he does anyway.
  • Light plots to reveal his stalker's identity. But...Twist!

    "Superb"
This is one of the most cleverly plotted episodes in any series ever. Excelent use of dramatic irony. Light thinks he's doing himself good by revealing the agents identity but little does he know he is not suspected anymore. "Don't do it" viewers say in their head, but Light already has his plan on action. Extremely mind boggling plan may go for nothing at the very least. The series gets more intense with this pivotal episode. We start to see the flaws Light has, he is too sure of his plan and doesn't let things play out for themselves. He thinks he can control his fate but that may go against him. Will he kill the agent? What would happen next? This episode keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for more!
  • Light's clever plan.

This episode starts off with where the last ended, Ryuk’s offer is quickly rejected however, and Light reveals his reasoning. Light soon devises an alternate plan to remove his follower from the picture, however.

Light’s intelligence and resourcefulness are depicted very cunningly in this episode, underlining a menacing genius and precision within the young man that is very quickly coming to fruition. His ethical nature is also becoming clearer, a fascinating yet vindictive dysfunction, perhaps too deep-seated within his nature to remove.

By further experimentation with the Death Note, Light acquires the help of a man he has already sentenced to die…
  • I cant believe how clever Light is......
