  • Light might be in hot water if he's not careful.

    "Superb"
Compared to the previous episode, this was a much more subdued episode. But at the end, you could cut the tension with a knife.

L's proves that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. His mannerisms are certainly rather odd. It's probably because he rarely interacts with people that he acts in such a way. His posture is hunched, his motions are eccentric, and his eyes are dull, but you then realize that he is the mastermind who is the only one capable of bringing down Kira.

I think this episode hits home that Light is not only smart, but also very lucky. I really like Raye's fiancée. She's got a good head on her shoulders. But if I was in her place, I would've held some reservations. She naively fell for Light's charm and politeness. From the preview it looks like he's going to get rid of her.
  • L reveals his face to the task force and explains his thoughts on who Kira is and how he works. Light goes back to see his actions and makes sure no one can conclude that he is Kira.

I think this was a very good episode. L finally revealed his face but more importantly we get to see what are his thought on the Kira case as well as what he thinks on finally revealing his face. I think that is a good episode because it marks the beginning of what is going to be a difficult case. Light also examines his actions and makes sure no one can conclude that he is Kira. L took many precautions before the meeting started to make sure no one heard the information that was about to be discussed. We also learn that L likes sweet things which could be seen by the amount of sugar that he put into his drink which I think was coffee.
  • Light meets the former future Mrs. Penber

Tsk, tsk. Light is just so mean. That poor woman and Raye Penber would have had a wonderful life together is Light hadn't murdered him in cold blood. And now, Raye's former fiancee has figured out that The Kira can kill people more than just giving them heart attacks and is bound and determined to tell someone on the task force. Prefereably L or Light's dad. Light decides he has to stop her. The woman willingly tells Light her name, but Ryuk laughs like a crazy person every time it comes up. Could it be an alias? DUH! Of course it's an alias! She's trying to catch Kira, not get killed by him! Although, Light does happen too..... I've said too much. I happened to see a future episode before this one. I don't want to spoil it for you.
  • in this episode light meets a woman who can be a threat to kira.

I love raye's finace, she is a genius. the only stupid thing is telling Light her name. but you can't blame her, only had all the evidence to come up with a conclusion that kira needed a name and a face. She really wants revenge for her husband's death, i think she really spooked light by figuring out that kira can kill in more than one way didn't she. It sucks how light is going to kill her next episode though, i think she could have been a useful ally to l. I also loved seeing l's face. He is a little bit weird but i think he'll become sweet later.
  • We finally meet L, but there's nothing really else extremely exciting to say.

That's right! After so long and countless amounts of guessing what he looks like (unless of course you read the manga or already seen the Japan verison), we finally get a good look at L... and that's pretty much the most exciting moment of the episode.

We instantly start right off as Light's dad and the rest of the team enters the room. We finally get a good look of L, a strangely and kind of ragged young man. I must say I like the look and the way he sits, it's cool.

Now for the rest of the first part, the team and L discusses all of the information they and he were able to collect leading straight to the point where only one piece could tie Light to everything. L's voice was good, not the best as previous episodes, but it'll get better as we go.

Now the second half is were Naomi meets Light at the police station. After hearing a bit of the information she collected, Light discovers that he is in grave danger if she presents her information to the police and L. Now he must find a way to get rid of her without her revealing the information or drawing attention to himself.

The animation is always good and the music makes the scenes nice and suspenseful at the right moment, but it really wasn't a ground breaking episode. But still, if you miss this episode, you won't know a single thing of what happens in the next.
  • Not my favorite since he didn't use the Death Note, but still a very important episode!

Well, the Task Force finally meets L. L is a bit weird. He acts like a child yet he is so smart at what he does. It just goes to show you there is more to someone than meets the eye. Anyway, Light goes to drop off some clothes for his dad, but since his dad was in a meeting with L, he had to just drop them off instead of actually meeting up with his father. While there, Light overhears a woman who says she has important information about Kira, so of course, Light goes to talk to her. Well, the lady was Raye Penbar's fiancee and she figured everything out. She told Light about how she thinks that Kira can kill with any method and not just a heart attack. Plus, she said she thinks whoever Raye gave his ID too, is Kira. That is all true! Light is gonna have to take care of her before they catch him!
  • And the plot thickens. For the first time.

We finally get to 'see' L's face in the anime. Granted, it shouldn't have come as much of a surprise, but still. Fangirls have been pleased. The first time I watched this episode, it seemed to sweep me off my feet with the genius of the plot line. However, now that I'm rewatching it, I start to find many things that don't provide for a happy watch.

Because of the sweep off the feetness of it, you don't really notice how quickly the show is moving. In reality, I don't think that Naomi should have shown up already, suspecting these things. Granted, it works that she does, otherwise L would have done so quite soon himself, but still. Just little things.

Still an awesome show, and still just getting better. 8.5/10.
  • Meet L!

L shows himself to the remaining police officers! And he turns to be a completely unexpected guy! It surprised me the way he turned out to be and his weird antics and he was very different than what they thought... Ray's girlfriend is trying to tell something curtail to the Kira case to L. Light decides to go and see his father at the police station, to find out their plan, where he meets Ray's girlfriend, who has information that could ruin Light. Now, how will Light stop her? This was a great episode, a little dull though in the middle though.
  • We *officially* meet L, who is actually very cool, and Light runs into some potential trouble.

This episode is funny right off the bat; the NPA members are shocked at L's dissheveled appearance. Messy hair, bad posture, looks like he doesn't sleep much...typical reclusive genius I-hardly-ever-go-outside-exercise-or-sleep look. I certainly don't know what THEY were expecting. It was a funny moment, but as we've seen L's appearance in every opening the effect wasn't as...well...effective as it could have been. The only things better than L's unexpected looks are his eccentric mannerisms, i.e. the way he sits, and obvious affinity for sugar which I can DEFINITELY relate to.

Meanwhile, Light runs into Penbar's fiance, who's out for blood. Having correctly guessed that Kira can kill people by means other than heart attacks, she's off to tell the NPA members in the Kira investigation her findings. Luckily, Light found her first, and uses some flattery to get her to tell him what she knows and her name.

The episode ended without her death, but I don't need to be reminded that since she told Light her name, it's all over for her. Oh well. If Light is caught too soon, Death Note will be over too soon.
  • Some very interesting developments...

L has revealed his identity, personally, to the five members of the NPA still active in Kira case. He is revealed to be very haphazard looking, as well as a very quirky character which comes as a surprise to the men.

L’s own genius is showcased very well in this episode, as he reveals his information on Kira to the five men working with him, and the clever way he deduced his findings which appear extremely irrefutable.

Light is a little concerned as to whether his own identity had been compromised during his excursions with Ray Penbar and the other FBI agents, because such overt tactics had never been necessary in the past… His worst fears are realized as Maki Shoko, the fiancée of departed Ray Penbar, attempts to make her own significant entry in the Kira case…
  • L is not what I expected...... He's even better...

This episode is about L revealing himself to the remaining officers, and Ray penbar's girlfriend trying to tell something crutial to the Kira case to L.

The episode begins with the surprised police force meeting L face to face. He is much different than they thought, but soon shows that his odd tendencies dont come without brilliance. Meanwhile, by chance, Light decides to take clothes down to his father at the police station, where he meets Ray's girlfriend, who has information that could ruin Light. Now, how will Light stop her?

This was another great installment, but it was a little boring at the middle. Mostly, exciting though, and overall great......
