Can you in fact go insane by having water drip on your forehead? These are just a few of the myths, urban legends, and improbable sayings that the Mythbusters try to figure out. Comprised of special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Heineman - as well as their mottley crew of Mythbuilders, Mythterns, and resident 'crash test dummy' Buster - they don't just tell the myths, they put them to the test to see which ones are possible, and which ones are just plain bunk. Dr. Heathcliff "Cliff" Huxtable was an OBGYN (obstetrician/gynecologist), and his wife Clair was a successful attorney. They had five children: Sondra, Denise, Theo, Vanessa and Rudy. Sondra was rarely seen during the first season because she was away at Princeton. She became a regular character in the second season, and was usually seen with her on-again off-again beau, Elvin. They eventually married and had twins; but not before stunning their families by announcing the fact that Elvin was dropping out of medical school to open a camping store, and Sondra was dropping out of law school to help her husband in his endeavor. Denise was the "unique" child, the black sheep of the family. She had her own way of doing things, right down to the style of clothing she wore. After graduating high school, she left for Hillman College in 1986 (a year later, this would become the setting for the spin-off A Different World), but returned two years later with news that she was dropping out. She eventually decided to become a photographer's assistant, and left for Africa for a year. When she returned, she had yet another bombshell: she had become a wife and mother while over in Africa. She married a navy man, Martin; who had a child, Olivia, from a previous marriage. During the final season, Denise travelled with Martin as he was stationed in Asia. Olivia stayed behind with Cliff and Clair. Theo, Vanessa and Rudy were probably the most popular of the five kids, due to the fact that they were seen more often then Sondra and Denise. Most of the stories revolved around the three youngest children. Stories dealt mainly with dating and school life, as well as Cliff's never-ending fear that his children would never leave home. In the final episode, Theo graduated from college. The Cosby Show was for the late '80s what Dallas was for the early eighties. Dallas was the number one show during most of the early eighties; but then situation comedies bumped all prime-time soaps down. The Cosby Show proved to be fierce competition, becoming the number one show from 1985-1990. In fact, in 8 years it never dropped below the top 20. Nickelodeon (ended 2008)
In a lost age, the world is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Within each nation, there is a remarkable order of men and women called the "benders" who can learn to harness their inborn talent and manipulate their native element. Bending is a powerful form combining martial art and elemental magic. In each generation, only one bender is solely capable of controlling all four elements. That bender is the Avatar. The Avatar is the spirit of the world manifested in human form. When the Avatar dies, it reincarnates into the next nation in the cycle. Starting with the mastery of his or her native element, the Avatar learns to bend all four elements. Throughout the ages, the countless incarnations of the Avatar have served to keep the four nations in harmony. Then, the Fire Nation launched a war against the other three nations. Just as the world needed the Avatar the most, he mysteriously vanished. A hundred years later, the Fire Nation is near final victory in its ruthless war of world domination. The Air Nomads were destroyed, the Air Temples ravished, and all airbender monks eradicated. The Water Tribes were raided and driven to the brink of extinction. The Earth Kingdom remains and fights a hopeless war against the Fire Nation. Many believe the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and the cycle is broken. In the desolated South Pole, a lone Water tribe struggles to survive. It is here that the village's last remaining waterbender Katara and her warrior brother Sokka rescue a strange 12-year-old boy named Aang who has been suspended in hibernation in an iceberg. The Water tribe soon discovers that Aang is not only an Airbender--the extinct race no one has seen in a century--but also the long lost Avatar. Now Katara and Sokka must safeguard the child Avatar in his journey to master all four elements and save the world from the Fire Nation. Season 1 is titled "Book One: Water", and Season 2 is titled "Book Two: Earth." Each of these seasons contains twenty "chapters." Season 3 is titled "Book Three: Fire", and contains 21 "chapters." Also Known As...: UK: Avatar: The Legend of Aang Latin America: Avatar: La Leyenda de Aang (The Legend of Aang) Brazil: Avatar: A Lenda de Aang (The Legend of Aang) Italy: Avatar: La Leggenda di Aang (The Legend of Aang) Germany: Avatar: Der Herr Der Elemente (The Master of the Elements) Spain:Avatar: La leyenda de Aang (The Legend of Aang) Holland: Avatar: De legende van Aang (The Legend of Aang) Opening Themes: The Pilot: Water. Earth. Fire. Air. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days. The time of peace. When the Avatar kept balance between Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar masters all four elements. Only he can stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed him most, He vanished. One hundred years have passed, and Fire Nation is nearing victory in the war. Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe. Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into Air Nomads, and that the circle is broken. But I haven't lost hope. I still believe that, somehow, The Avatar will return to save the world. Chapters 3+ Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony, But everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Only the Avatar, the master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. One hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. Although his airbending skills are great, He has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe, Aang can save the world. The show retains the same opening theme through the second and third season. All three opening themes are voiced by Mae Whitman as Katara.moreless

"Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me. Take me out to the black, tell them I ain't coming back. Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me......There's no place I can be since I found Serenity, you can't take the sky from me." Firefly is set five hundred years from today in a new planetary system after humanity abandons "Earth That Was". Under the leadership of Malcolm Reynolds, a renegade who fought against the new unified central government (the "Alliance"), the crew of the Firefly-class vessel Serenity struggles to survive any way they can. They fly between the border planets to keep away from the Alliance and below its radar. This series was described as a "science fiction western" but is different from other space-based shows as it features no aliens. (For stations and individuals seeking the intended air order of the series as specified by creator Joss Whedon, as opposed to the order Fox originally aired them or that they are informing stations is the order they should be shown in, see here) Each of the crew members has a special role: Malcolm Reynolds holds the duty of Captain - he is a defeated soldier who opposed the unification of the planets by the Alliance to no avail. He strives to keep all his crew members on task and Serenity flying safely, while trying to make a living and do the right thing...in his rather flexible moral framework. Zoe (aka The Soldier) is extremely loyal to Reynolds as she served with him during the war and owes her life to him. Zoe has the strength and experience to take command of the ship, if necessary. Wash is Serenity's pilot (and Zoe's husband) - unassuming, self-deprecating, and calm with a sense of humor. Kaylee is the ship's mechanic - an experienced engineer who keeps Serenity flying. Inara is a 'Registered Companion,' most easily described as a high-priced courtesan or geisha. She is also the person with the highest social standing on the ship and acts as the crew's Ambassador. Jayne is the muscle of the crew. A tough, uncultured Mercenary, unpleasant and offensively direct, but loyal to those on his crew...usually. The newcomers are: Simon Tam is the Doctor on Serenity and comes from a wealthy family and has a privileged upbringing. He has spent his life savings and future to save his sister, River. River (aka The Fugitive) was experimented on by the government. Her psychic visions (a result of the experiments) are taken at first as babble by the crew but they slowly come to realize that there's more going on than what shows on the surface. Book or "The Shepherd," is a wise minister who knows far more about military matters and battle tactics than a man of the cloth should, and his past is shrouded in mystery.moreless

Video Organization Videos are generally placed at the end of each series. Many airdates listed try to match the first Disney Broadcast or US video release. If it has the Wiggly Dancers it'll be season 3 or later, otherwise the video fits in season 1. If it has Sam Wiggle, it'll be in season 6. About Production Codes: The regular seasons were painstakingly collected from the various TV guides and correlated with actual viewings of the show over a period of several months. Season 5 codes come from a media marketing site. They all follow the 3-digit format, except for videos which are originally listed by their Roadshow / HIT Entertainment VHS or DVD catalog number. If you have a better scheme for the videos please contact the editor. Character Profiles The Wiggles Greg Wiggle Greg is the lead singer of The Wiggles, and if you just hear one singer in your favorite Wiggles song, he is the guy. His hobby is doing magic tricks. He can make things disappear, but it'd be once in blue moon if he ever succeeds in pulling a rabbit out of his hat! Instrument = Lead Vocalist. He also plays some guitar and keyboard. Shirt Color = Yellow Sam Wiggle In the Wiggle and Learn series, Sam is the new Yellow Wiggle. People might recognize him as a Wiggly Dancer and Professor Singalottasonga in the earlier series. Instrument = Lead Vocals, and sometimes the Trumpet. Shirt Color = Yellow Anthony Wiggle Anthony is one hungry Wiggle. His hobbies include eating and generally being silly. His appetite can get in the way at times. He usually sings and dances with Greg. In the newer seasons, he also loves to use a low bass voice and to roll his r's. Instrument = Drums. He also plays some guitar and some other instruments. Shirt Color = Blue Murray Wiggle The calmest guy in the band, Murray enjoys playing his red guitar, and is quite impressed by Greg and his magic. One time he even used Greg's magic properly! Murray also loves to speculate on different things in life, like what if we didn't have elbows. He also loves to play well known guitar riffs. Instrument = Red Guitar. Shirt Color = Red Jeff Wiggle Jeff is full of energy when he's awake, but he tends to fall asleep on the spot, and it takes the entire audience to shout "Wake up, Jeff!" It can be hard to keep him awake. In fact, he spent a whole episode asleep once! He may be the goofiest of them all. Instrument = Keyboard and Accordion. Shirt Color = Purple Supporting Characters Captain Feathersword Often considered the Fifth Wiggle, Captain Feathersword is a friendly pirate who has a sword made out of feathers so he can tickle people. He's best known for doing improvisational acts and voices, thanks in part to his Magic Buttons on his vest. He greets everyone with "Ahoy There, Me Hearties!" Dorothy the Dinosaur Dorothy is a human-sized dinosaur who wears a floppy white hat, and loves daydreaming in her rose garden. She has loved roses since she was a young child. And not just to smell them, but she uses them to make rosy treats! She is also the only female among the main Wiggles group, and has an infectious giggle. In Australia, she even has her own TV show! Wags the Dog Wags is a cute dog about the size of the Wiggles. In the early seasons, he only speaks to the audience, and woofs for Captain Feathersword and the other Wiggles. But in the later seasons, he talks like everyone else. He's a very resourceful inventor, and he also likes to goof on Captain Feathersword, refusing to just obey. He's also in charge of the three little pups known as the Wagettes. Henry the Octopus Henry leads his own underwater band. He joins the Wiggles in a bunch of different songs and dances. In the early seasons, he is both a puppet and a mascot. His favorite word is "Bree-Boop!" which is like Aloha in Octopus language. Officer Beaples: She's dressed like a Keystone Kop, and mostly mimes. Wiggle Dancers: The men and women who dance around in marching band uniforms. They start appearing in the musical numbers from the Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles season. Friendly Pirate Crew: The men and women who dance around and help Captain Feathersword during one of his featured skits. Many of the folks are Wiggle Dancers, but some are dedicated crew members representing a worldwide populace. Child Dancers: Since the show is all about the kids, many of the videos feature children dancing and participating in activities. About Playhouse Disney: This is the morning segment of the Disney Channel in the USA that's geared for pre-schoolers and toddlers. Because Disney is privately owned, they only air commercials for their own Disney shows and products, but during the Playhouse Disney segments, The Wiggles shows run about 25 minutes straight with NO commercials! Disney used to run the Wiggles at all sorts of morning hours seven days a week. In its prime, the Wiggles should show up from two to three episodes a day: 6am for Wiggly TV (series 1-2), 10am for The Wiggles Show and Lights, Camera, Action episodes (series 3-4), and 7am for the Breakfast with Bear segment. In series 5, The Wiggles ran at 7am weekdays, and a different time on weekend mornings. In series 6, the Wiggles ran at 7am weekdays and weekends but in January 5, 2009, the Wiggles ran at 11:30am weekdays and 7am weekends. Reruns can be found on PBS Sprout. Submission Guidelines Although the Wiggles guide may seem fairly complete, there are always plenty of fun things to add. Here's generally where things are categorized. Notes: - List of DVD Bonus Features, including Lights Camera Action Wiggles episodes. - Official original release dates for the Australia videos, US videos, and companion albums. Awards won. Differences between Australia and US version. - Novelties and debuts (set design, wardrobe, song, dancer) - consider chronological or Disney TV series order. - One-shot appearances by non-TV industry guests, lists of children and families, lists of dancers. - Family and Friends - whenever the Wiggles bring in their non-cast/crew family members (e.g. Anthony's wife, kids, or dogs), and friends into their videos and features. - Debuts in Australia, UK, or Canada if traceable. Trivia: - On-screen song and guest debuts by name, such as Murray introducing Clare, or Anthony introducing Alfonso. - Instrument details. Allusions: Passing references to pop culture icons like Elvis or The Beatles. For example, Racing to the Rainbow has a flurry of Elvis references, and the cover of Let's Eat is designed to look like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts band. Australian regional sayings and jargon like "slippery dip", but do not add common ones like "G'day" or "Beauty, mate" or "barbie" Song arrangements not directly explained (e.g. Hands on My Head). Cast: If you are adding voiceovers for any of the mascots, for example: Wags the Dog (Mic Conway) Dorothy the Dinosaur (Carolyn Ferrie, Jacqueline Field, Zoe Velez) Henry the Octopus (Jeff Fatt, Paul Paddick, Mario Martinez-Diaz), please confirm they are the correct person in the season, and that the mascot actually said something in that episode. I count the dancers as Recurring Stars / Guest Stars if: 1) They are credited at the end of the show. 2) They participated in the skits, intros, or closers. I do not count the dancer if all they did was appear in the pre-produced video footage. DO NOT ADD - Nitpicking any time the Wiggles don't really play their instruments or lip sync. It is a given that sometimes they are more concerned about dancing and showing the actions rather than making an acoustically accurate performance. Save those goofs for only the major ones like showing two different guitars for the same concert song. - Self-evident crew credits like Music: The Wiggles (Band) or Creator: The Wiggles (Band) or Opening Performance: The Wiggles (Band). Look for explicitly listed credits like Musical Arrangement: Anthony Field instead. - Cast roles that should be listed in the credits (e.g. Kamahl guest stars as himself). - Special Guest Stars - add them as regular Guest Stars. - Dancers on replayed video footage. They did not participate in the video. - This is the second/third/fourth visit by guest star. It is self-evident from the credits that guests appear multiple times. - Anything from Wiggles Wikia. That site has way much too unverified information. - Any nitpicks on miscellaneous Wiggles songs that aren't featured in the TV series or videos. - Explanations on nursery rhymes or common pop culture. Common questions about the guide Q: What is with the titles for Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles? How come they don't correspond to my videos? A: In the original Australian broadcast, the show was 54 episodes of 11 minutes each, and their titles were just Episode 1 to Episode 54. When it was broadcast in the US for Disney, they mainly combined 2 episodes into one, and posted their own 3 digit production numbers. There are NO official titles for the US version. The titles here are arbitrarily written by the editor to best reflect the theme of the combined episode. Q: Can I add a Wiggles video to a guide? A: Yes, Just let me know in advance and I can give you an episode number of where it should fit in. I am not accepting 2-pack releases as new entries, but you can make a Note of such things if they are important. Q: Why is Series Two listed first? A: Although Series Two was produced after Series One, it aired on Disney channel before Series One. Q: What about Wiggly Waffle? A: Wiggly Waffle, while it has new videos, is not an actual TV series, but The Wiggles hosting a block of various shows. If you want Wiggly Waffle on tv.com, you could send in a request for a new show, but my opinion is that it is a very difficult series to maintain. Q: What about other Wiggles produced shows? A: Dorothy the Dinosaur Show from the late 2000s has a guide now. If you want Kingdom of Paramithi, send a request to add the show on tv.com.moreless

Welcome to the Agatha Christie's Marple guide at TV.com. Geraldine McEwan (series 1-3) and Julia McKenzie (from series 4) star in the latest TV adaption of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple stories. Following in the footsteps of Gracie Fields, Margaret Rutherford, Angela Lansbury, Helen Hayes and Joan Hickson, Geraldine McEwan brought the part of the elderly amateur sleuthwith an extraordinary knack of solving crimes back to the small screen in 2004. The series is based on the Miss Marple stories by Agatha Christie. Early episodes were adapted from Miss Marple novels and short stories, while later episodes see the character of Miss Marple inserted into other works by Agatha Christie. Opinions diverged as to McEwan's suitability to the role, while changes made to give the stories a more modern edge proved controversial. Despite this, the series proved popular and attracted large viewing figures in the UK and around the world. After the completion of filming of the third series, Geraldine McEwan decided to retire from the role, and the part of Miss Marple was awarded to Julia McKenzie. A documentary entitled Behind The Scenes: Agatha Christie's Marple was shown on ITV3 after the final episode of the first series. The documentary is available on the DVD release of the first series. The third edition of the "CSI" franchise sets up shop in the Big Apple, where taciturn Detective Mac Taylor (GarySinise) leads a crime-solving team. Like his counterparts in Las Vegas and Miami, Taylor knows that people may lie, but the evidence rarely does. In the city that never sleeps, CSI: NY never rests. A spin-off from CSI: Miami, the third edition to the CSI franchise follows a New York City forensics team/police officers headed by former tough Marine Major, Det. Mac Taylor. Against a backdrop of simmering ethnic and cultural tensions, Taylor probes cases similar to their Las Vegas and Miami counterparts, along with his team of Detectives, consisting of Det. Danny Messer (Carmine Giovinazzo), Det. Lindsay Monroe (Anna Belknap), and Det. Dr. Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper). The CSIs work alongside Medical Examiner Sid Hammerback (Robert Joy), lab rat Adam Ross (A.J. Buckley), hardcore homicide Det. Don Flack (Eddie Cahill) and the newest addition to the team, Det. Jo Danville (Sela Ward), an experienced investigator from Washington, D.C., whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim. Former team members include the late Det. Aiden Burn (Vanessa Ferlito) and Mac's former second in command, Det. Stella Bonasera (Melina Kanakaredes).moreless
