Joanna, now working as Robert's secretary, continues to look into Vivian´s death. The Bower family faces some problem regarding Lyritrol, Bowers Pharmaceutical's new cancer drug.

Edward finds out that he is a suspect in Vivan's death.

No one was surprised when the wealthy socialite and drug addict Vivian Bowers was found dead of an overdose, except for FBI agent Will Moreno. He is convinced that the death was a homicide, and that someone in Vivian´s family did it. He gets help from Detective Joanna Locasto, who at one point had been Vivian´s best friend. When Joanna attends the funeral, the family embraces her, offering her a place to stay. She then begins to undercover secrets about how Vivian died, putting herself in danger.
