Show Summary

  • Terraforming and Terriblewriting

    Unfortunately, the Klingon Empire will not appear to terraform the heads of the personnel responsible for this series so very well imagined, but so terribly badly executed.

    A intriguing background story - the invasion, the various alien races, the terraforming, the war that led to a new world order - left out to show little stories about cops, monsters and ''You feel me?'' tantruns.

    What a pity.

    Addendum after the fifth episode: everything interesting that could have been built with that compeling background story of the pilot is lost in a festival of cliches, bad quality of writing and increased destruction of logic and common sense.

    Decrease 1 point in my rating.moreless

    So what we are seeing here is people complaining about the show just being a remake of other shows. How many new shows are out there, that are not based off of several old shows? Can you name one new show out there that isn't some sort of a spin? Just one show? Anyone?



    The answer is going to be no, but I will say this for Defiance they are doing a good job with the show and all the demands placed on it, plus they are making it a part of a game which is awesome. So how is that not a new concept? What other show has tied into a active online game? None that I know of, but I would like for someone to name a single show that is not based off of another show and that has a game that it effects?



    But most likely what will happen is more complaints and no one will offer up a show that has done what Defiance has and what that said I'm going to watch some Defiance and play the game.moreless

    I honestly just wanted a new show to add to my other good ones, plus im pretty fond of syfy but come on. I watched 4 episodes of this show and every episode felt so cheesy and obvious. Now im ok with obvious events but this show feels as if a child wrote it. Hey at least i can say i tried.

    I've watched it till now but I'm giving up on this show. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I'm having a hard time finding the line of good and bad, no one is what they appear to be, nearly every character is a villain and each and every one has their own agenda, I AM SO CONFUSED. There are so many little plots and they never finish and only make the show more confusing and confounding. Each character thinks they have the right to just do harm at their pleasure with senseless justification of their personal agenda. I think it's time for ENOLA GAY to come back and put Defiance out of it's misery.moreless
