    • Trivia: Tessa, Bart, and Dorothy, who were in grade 7 last year, are added to the grade 9 class, so that the characters can be involved in the new series.

    • Trivia: The Zit Remedy considers the following as new names for the band: The Barf Bags; Three.

    • Trivia: Miss Avery lost her job due to the fire the final episode of Degrassi Junior High, Bye-Bye Junior High, and will be working in the Resource Centre (library).

    • Trivia: The building used for the shots of Degrassi High is part of Centennial College in Toronto.

    • Trivia: The poster hanging above Erica's bed is for a 1987 documentary film featuring people's opinions about life after death.

    • Trivia: Erica buys her pregnancy test at the same drugstore where Spike bought hers, and where Joey bought condoms (and everything else in the store) for his evening with Liz in Degrassi Junior High.

    • Trivia: Arthur leaves for school at 8:27 a.m., so he either lives very close to the school, or classes start late in the day.

    • Product Placement: Look for heavy product placement by Coke and Skippy Peanut Butter; the most obvious is when Tabi is standing in the hall with Dwayne, trying to look tough, and eating Skippy directly out of the jar with a spoon.

    • Continuity: There has never been any previous mention of a Degrassi High School; in the previous year, in Degrassi Junior High, the kids attended classes part-time at Borden High School.

    • Continuity Goof: Tessa, Bart, and Dorothy are supposed to be in grade 8 now; yet they are in all of the grade 9 classes with Caitlin, Joey, Alex, Scooter, Melanie, Kathleen, and Diana.

    • Yick's earring: Siluck Saysanasy wanted to get an earring, and his father said no; so he asked the writers to write it into the show so his dad would have no choice but to let him get one.
