Spike is given an egg to take care of for a week, to show her what taking care of a baby is like. Stephanie and Alexa are both attracted to Simon, the new student. Stephanie is jealous to see him and Alexa together at Lucy's party. Feeling guilty, Shane asks Spike if there is anything he can do to help her. She gives the egg to Shane and tells him to take care of it. Shane arrives at the party with the egg and starts tossing it around the room with his friends. Spike leaves, feeling upset, telling Shane how upset she is at him. Shane later tells his parents that he got her pregnant.moreless

    "Eggbert" is a great way to start season 2 of Degrassi Junior High! I love how Spike is given an egg and she has to take care of it for a week to see what parenting is like. I love how she gives the egg to Shane and she'll only accept his apology if he takes care of the egg. It was so intense how they were throwing the egg around at the party and Spike gets really mad and she smashes the egg herself. Stephanie's plot was so funny with Steph getting rid of all her "sexy" clothes, and she gives them to Alexa. I love how Steph wants the clothes back to get Simon to notice her. I give this episode a 9/10.moreless

    I found this episode online and decided to give the show a try seeing as I adore The Next Generation. I absolutly loved it. Seeing as how I already knew what happens to the characters I actually found it kind of funny and quirky that Spike was worrying about being pregnant with Emma. Shane Mckay wasn't mentally ill back then and he was a cool character. I found the egg stuff kind of odd and I thought Spike was taking it way too seriously at times. Those two girls (God, I don't even know their names) are fun characters to watch. Them fighting about the clothes and the new guy was really entertaining and I found that those scenes went by really fast while the Spike/Shane scenes were dragging on a bit. The little kids in this episode were so much more annoying then the little kids in the next generation were. A water gun? It seemed like they were younger then they are supposed to be. It was a great opening episode to the season (or in my case, the series) and i'll be sure to keep watching.moreless

Shane later tells his parents that he got her pregnant. this episode had a great story and some great dialogue and it made shane into one of the shows stars. the whole cast shines in this one. it also had one of the best endings ever when shane comes home and says "mom, dad.....theres something i have to tell you"...awesome.moreless

    The season starts out with Spike dealing with her pregnancy. She is given the responsibility of taking care of "Eggbert" for two weeks. When Shane (who hasn't told his parents the joyous news of the pregancy) feels guilty and wants to help, Spike hands him Eggbert- it's his responsibilty for a week.

    Simon Dexter joins the 8th grade class and catches the attention of Stephanie and Alexa. Stephanie's resolve to dress more conservatively goes out the window! She is determined to get her sexy clothes back from Alexa (whom she gave them to) and to make Simon her new man.moreless

  • Spike is given an egg to care for as an experiment for her pregnant girls' support group. Shane wants to help, so she involves him, and it backfires when they both wanted to go to Lucy's party. Simon moves to town, and hits it off with Alexa.moreless

    I like how they show both sides. Spike who is contemplating what to do with her baby, and other pregnant teens she relates to. And Shane, who sees his dad thankful for him, and how he wants to keep it that way, therefore has a hard time telling them he's an expectant father. Kind of amusing, to see him asking about drugs, and then say "it makes me appreciate what a fine young man you are", and then Shane's guilty smile. And what a co-incidence that then his mom asks for eggs. But it's good to see them both learning more about what taking care of a baby is like. And the whole class too; Alexa, again, saying "I'd keep it, I love babies". I find it amusing to see Stephanie trying to be the "real me" and gives her clothes to Alexa. But Alexa has more than just sexy clothes; she wears them right, and she actually takes an interest in Simon and where he comes from and stuff like that. I don't see Stephanie doing that; she still wants attention, and the benefits but not the sacrifices. And maybe the "real me" image has got her wondering what that is, so it makes for some insecurity. Also it shows how Lucy's parents have been reacting to her, since the shoplifing incident. She had one party since then, where Emma was conceived, and no talk of it then. Or maybe that was out of order, since normally you don't find out you're pregnant until you're about 5 weeks along. But this time, they've been measuring the booze, and had the carpet cleaned and stuff, I'm surprised they both still go away! I hated seeing Spike throw "Eggbert" on the ground; killing it. But obviously she doesn't kill Emma; she goes ahead with the pregnancy. But no say on how she goes along with the experiment, because it was for 2 weeks and that was only one week.moreless
