Are the seasons worth buying? I am a fan of TNG and was wondering.

fr the most part djh i thought was more originaly (i still love tng) but it seems that dtng took a lot of the same subplots from djh/dh except they tweaked it the slightest bit but the junior high episodes are great so i think you should buy it

Many of the episodes are pretty good, and basically TNG's a glossier version. Sometimes the storylines are different in key ways, ways which can make me sympathize with Rick but think Clooooode's an attention whore.

I think everyone hated Claude. (Granted, that'd be Degrassi High, but you know.) One of the big reasons why I sympathized with Rick and Sean during the shooting is because Emma's everything fans hate about Liz, Kathleen, Joanne, and Claude rolled into one.

yeah theyre worth getting! Ive got all 3 seasons on dvd and i watch 'em all the time, especially with my older sister as she used to watch the show when she was my age! its good for background information for TNG (spike getting pregnant, caitlin and joey's relationship) but they do seem to repeat the same storylines in TNG which a tad bit repetitive but i still love TNG....but yes i do recommend buying it! definitely recommend it!

i'll be a fan forever! xxx

I agree, some episodes can actually be better than the TNG episodes

If you like TNG you should like DJH. I saw TNG first and became really curious about the old school. When they showed it on The-N I became hooked and now I like it more than TNG.  They do have a a lot of the same story lines and and similar characters so seeing it after seeing TNG makes it feel really familiar. You should still enjoy it. I say yes it's worth it!

I am 24 years old and I was too young too appreciate this series when I was 8 years old but I do remember loving it back then because the kids on the show were exactly like the ones I saw each day in school.  Watching the show now (I have all the boxed set as well), I am amazed of how textured and riveting the show really was and although the fashion has aged, the lessons and morals of the show have not.  TNG is a good show but does feel like a rehashing of this series; at least there is some reverence to continuity as many of the cast members of DJH make appearances in TNG and make TNG that much more enjoyable.  DJH is the gritty teen show that inspired a legion of clones and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you don't check out this show.

    Hey, I'm 23.

Occasionally, they don't rip off old Degrassi episodes. Sometimes they rip off John Hughes movies.

I could complain about the continuity issue. The writers seem to remember the subtleties of continuity (Joey's reaction to Snake cheating, Snake and Caitlin's reactions to the shooting), but they can't remember that Joey failed a year, or that Spike was in grade 8 when Emma was born. Although they CAN remember Tessa.

I have all 3 DJH seasons on dvd, and let me tell you something; it's totally worth it!  I love old school more than dtng because the older series, such as DJH is more real.  Like all the actors did their own hair and make-up.  I think the story lines are well done by all of the actors and they are really unique.  I had never seen some of these story lines in other shows before, so seeing them for the first time in a show, it was quite interesting.  I think it's definately worth it.

I absolutely loved this show when I was growing up, but had no idea it was availiable to buy. If anyone from OZ knows where it might be availiable here, either to borrow or buy, please let me know. Thanks
