The letter that Joey writes saying that his parents can't come to Parents' Night reads: "Dear Mr. Raditch, We regret to inform you that we are unable to attend parents' night due to the fact that we have a highly communicable disease."
Mr. Wheeler: Derek, did you ever stop to think that maybe rock music was an alien plot to take over the world? Wheels: Yeah, right Dad.
Joey: Oh, no! I forgot about parents' night... my parents are going to kill me. Wheels: Don't be ridiculous. Joey: I'm not being ridiculous, they're going to kill me! Snake: No, they'll probably just break your arm or something.
Spike: I don't like being told what to do! Shane: You didn't get pregnant by yourself. I have some say too! Spike: One dumb mistake, and you get to take charge of my life?
Mr. Wheeler: Hey, Derek, ever heard of a band called the Gourmet Scum? Wheels: Yeah! Mr. Wheeler: Well, I've got two tickets to the concert tomorrow night in Hamilton. I could pick you up after school and we could go down there. Wheels: Uh... I can't. I've got... uh... practice for the talent show. It's kind of important.
The song that Arthur and Caitlin sing during the rehearsal is the same song Lisa (played by the actress who plays Caitlin) and Casey sing at the talent show in the Kid Of Degrassi Street Episode "Martin Hears the Music".
Although Degrassi: The Next Generation had an episode titled "Parents Night", the subject in this episode is covered in "Father Figure". Emma, who is Spike's daughter, looks for her father, seeking to make a connection.
