  • Wheel's is adopted.

    9.0
"Parents' Night" is a great Degrassi episode. It deals with adoption. It was so creepy how this guy is stalking Wheels and he claims to be Wheel's biological father. Wheel's dealing with being adopted was a pretty cool storyline. I like the Spike subplot of not knowing if she wanted to keep the baby or give the baby up for adoption. It was really cute how she asked Wheels about his adoption. I give this episode a 9/10.moreless

Its weird that this show could produce some of the best episodes ever of any tv show, and also procude some of the worst crap ever. well I guess with a low budget show you cant expect constant perfection. too bad it didnt have a CBS or an NBC budget behind it because when this show was good it blew the cosby show and family ties out of the water.

anyways this episode is as bad as it gets. in fact i can only think of one other episode that was worse. the one where LDs dad goes to the hospital. no episode will ever dethrone that on its kingdom of badness. the acting in this one is really bad. esp wheels who has to be the worst actor ever. although he did get better in later seasons, in the 1st season he was really bad.moreless
  • Wheels meets his birth father. Right then Spike starts asking him questions about his being adopted, as she is considering giving the baby up for adoption. Both their struggles are parallel. Parents\' night is coming, and Joey writes a fake note from his.moreless

This episode makes interesting connections between Wheels, who is adopted, and Spike, who is pregnant and considering giving her baby up for adoption. Wheels meets his birth father, and sees what they have in common. Until he gets hurt by Mike referring to him as \"my kid\". He learns to appreciate his adoptive parents more. And Spike gives him insight, on wondering if she\'d love her baby too much, and should she try to meet her child later? In that, they help each other. That\'s absolutely hilarious how Joey tries to get his parents out of going to Parents Night. He is afraid because of his marks, but he doesn\'t think that Mr Raditch would put in a call to them. And it appears that Spike and Shane break up in this episode.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • The letter that Joey writes saying that his parents can't come to Parents' Night reads: "Dear Mr. Raditch, We regret to inform you that we are unable to attend parents' night due to the fact that we have a highly communicable disease."

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Mr. Wheeler: Derek, did you ever stop to think that maybe rock music was an alien plot to take over the world?
      Wheels: Yeah, right Dad.

    • Joey: Oh, no! I forgot about parents' night... my parents are going to kill me.
      Wheels: Don't be ridiculous.
Joey: I'm not being ridiculous, they're going to kill me!
Snake: No, they'll probably just break your arm or something.

    • Spike: I don't like being told what to do!
Shane: You didn't get pregnant by yourself. I have some say too!
Spike: One dumb mistake, and you get to take charge of my life?

    • Mr. Wheeler: Hey, Derek, ever heard of a band called the Gourmet Scum?
      Wheels: Yeah!
Mr. Wheeler: Well, I've got two tickets to the concert tomorrow night in Hamilton. I could pick you up after school and we could go down there.
Wheels: Uh... I can't. I've got... uh... practice for the talent show. It's kind of important.

  • NOTES (2)

    • The song that Arthur and Caitlin sing during the rehearsal is the same song Lisa (played by the actress who plays Caitlin) and Casey sing at the talent show in the Kid Of Degrassi Street Episode "Martin Hears the Music".

    • Although Degrassi: The Next Generation had an episode titled "Parents Night", the subject in this episode is covered in "Father Figure". Emma, who is Spike's daughter, looks for her father, seeking to make a connection.
