  • Erica worries she might have mono after kissing a boy.

    9.5
"Sealed with a Kiss" is an amazing Degrassi Junior High episode. This episode had so many layers. First of all, I love how this episode deals with consequences of kissing. I love how Erica thinks she has mono after kissing a boy. I love how Heather thinks she has mono after kissing the same boy. It was so awesome how we find out that Erica had tonsilitis and Heather was just having sympathy pains. I give this episode 9.5/10.moreless

I really liked this episode because the twins finally get the lead instead of playing backup like they always did before. well written and acted esp by the twins. nothing extroardinary but very enjoyable to watch. definitely a notch above the average degrassi episode.moreless
  • Erica wants to be her own woman.

    8.0
Twins Heather and Erica are best friends. They share the same room, have the same taste in clothes, and even have the same set of friends at school. Heather feels comfortable with this, but Erica wants to be her own woman. She wants her own identity. She meets a guy at a school dance, and shares a kiss with him. Erica then gets sick. While Erica is resting in bed, Heather goes out with the guy, and they share a kiss! Both girls think they have mono, but it turns out that neither of them have it- Erica has tonsilitis. Heather jokingly reminds her that when her tonsils are removed, they will indeed be different! Very cute episode!moreless
  • Erica is tired of being labelled as just a twin, and wants her own identity. She meets a guy at the dance, and they kiss. She and Heather fight over it, and then when she's not well, he tries to go for Heather. Wheels no longer needs tutoring.moreless

    8.1
Good episode for anyone who is or knows identical twins. Every set of twins seems to have a "goody-goody"(Heather) and an adventurous one.(Erica) But combinations are different. Mostly we see them together in this show, and here we see what the real difference is. Also it's good to bring this up for all kids of this age; like to wonder why we want to French-kiss. So many enter into it WAY too lightly, so it's good to talk about it. And good to see the twins dealing with their differences and loving each other through it. Alexa needs a good hard lesson in the Golden Rule here. Which I think she gets in episodes to come. She dances with all the St Mary's guys, not really caring what Simon thinks. But what if he had then started dancing with St Mary's girls? I'm thinking Stephanie wasn't at that dance, or she'd have tried to take advantage of Simon on that note. Joey and Wheels' lamenting is kinda funny; they don't like how the Degrassi girls are dancing with the other guys but when Snake suggests they ask the other girls to dance, they say forget it, we don't know them.

And the Zit Remedy not being able to practice because of Snake's classical guitar lessons, so typical. Though it can also be a learning experience. Obviously Snake comes to take what he learned there to make the band better.....eventually.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • We find out that Erica is six minutes older than Heather.

    • Students from St. Mary's are invited to Degrassi's Dance. St Mary's is the school Liberman faced on "Quest for the Best" the week before facing Degrassi in the episode Bottled Up.

    • The Zits are excited when Wheels doesn't need tutoring anymore, but then Snake tells them that he's taking classical guitar lessons after school.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • (describing being a twin to Aaron)
Erica: Just once I'd like to have a birthday to myself, not have to share the cake or the presents. You don't know what it's like... it's like an endless contest, with no prize.

    • Erica: It's so unfair. I finally meet a guy I like, and he makes me sick.

    • Aaron: Do you want to go for a ride? I mean, you're sort of the same, right?
      Heather: No, I don't think I should.
Aaron: Yeah, Erica told me you never did anything rash or spontaneous.
Heather: She said that? (thinks) Mom! I'm going out!

    • Aaron: Listen, maybe I'll call you sometime! Maybe all three of us can go out!
(Heather storms away from the car)
Heather (to self): What a creep!

    • Snake: You guys know how my fingers have been sore lately? I've been playing guitar a lot.
      Joey: So, what's your point?
      Snake: Classical guitar.
      Joey: You mean like, Elvis?

    • Heather: Erica, you were born six minutes before me...big deal!
Erica: Well it obviously makes a difference. I'm interesting and romantic...mature. You're dull and boring.
Heather: At least I'm not EASY!

    • Mr. Raditch: Ok, who wants "the effects of smoking" and who wants "mononucleosis"?
Alexa: Oh, we'll do the kissing disease! I love diseases.

    • Alexa: Isn't this a fabulous dance?
      Wheels, Snake, Joey: (sarcastically) Dynamite.

  • NOTES (1)

    • In previous episodes, you hear over the intercom that Alex Yankou's glasses are missing. In this episode, the announcement says the "Lost & Found" box containing his glasses is now missing.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Mono
Mono (short for Mononucleosis) is a disease usually called the kissing disease because you contract it by either kissing someone who then passes the infection or drinking someone else's drink that has mono.
