Degrassi: The Next Generation

This is definitely the best episode of season nine, and considering the quality of this season, it definitely stands out above the rest. Degrassi was in a bit of a slump from the last half of season seven to the end of season nine, but you couldn't tell this show was in a slump by watching this two parter.



You wouldn't think an episode would be the best of the season and be focused on one of the newbies from last year, but in this case it did. We've got a lot of intense scenes, from Riley yelling at Fiona in the middle of school to Riley's lifeguard giving Riley the beatdown in the bathroom, this was a very intense and emotional episode.



Sure I could so without the LARPing, but hey it was entertaining even though it was just another plot with Sav & Anya arguing. Peter & Riley's friendship shines, and the end of this episode was Riley's first step to coming out. Which was a really great scene. Amazing episodes, more episodes like this one please!

Riley tries to stop being gay because he does not want to be. However, in the end of the episode, he realizes he wants to be himself and accepts his sexuality. He does however, intend to "come out of the closet" at his own pace, sometime after high school.



I liked how Riley dealt with his sexuality, I thought it was handled really nicely, especially at the end of the episode when he learns to cope with being gay I thought that was a nice fitting way to end the episode. I liked it a lot, my grade is A+

Mega Awesome episode! There was definitely a lot more drama in this episode than in part 1. Riley is trying to find a cure for being gay He has a lot of anger and confusion. I'm glad he realized that that website he found online was scam. I also didn't really like that Riley called Fiona a b!tch. I also like in the end that his swim teacher guy told him to stop worrying about it. I also like how he came out to Peter officially and that he's not going to come out to the whole school. I love the Anya B plot. I think it's because I'm so happy that she finally has a storyline. I hate the way Sav treats Anya. It's getting so annoying, but he always fixes his relationship with her, which makes his character alright. Jenna/Dave C plot was interesting. I'm glad that she told Dave that she didn't actually like him. I give this episode a 9/10.
