  • Katie injures her knee during tryouts. Tristan is mighty jealous of Tori and Zig. Jenna tries to get her music spirit back.

    8.5
Overall, this was a good episode. The A plot with Katie was interesting. I liked how the girl, who Katie accidentally punched her nose, made her have a broken knee for retribution. It was shocking how Katie was going to great lengths to complete tryouts by abusing her mother's pain medication. That was the most interesting part because there has never been a "pain killer" addict storyline in Degrassi history.

The B plot with Tori, Tristan, and Zig was cool too. I especially liked the part when Tristan went to Owen for advice and the both of them are revealed as brothers. Owen, of course, was pretending like Tristan wasn't his brother but anyway he told him to tell Tori that Zig thinks she's fat. I'm actually happy that Tristan did not make a complete drama out of this situation which he decided to hang out with Zig and let the three of them participate in Degrassi's talent show. This shows a bit of character development for Tristan since he is opening up to new things.

The C plot with Jenna was one I had mixed feelings about. I understand that giving up a child is not easy but you always have to learn from it and move on. That is the opposite I got from Jenna because I felt as though she was being overly depressed about Tyson. Just as a side note, Jake should not be giving relationship advice to anyone since he dated his step-sister.

In general, I give this episode a B. The A and B plots were good but the C plot was just too depressive for me.moreless
  • Katie hurts her knee during soccer tryouts. Tristan feels left out when Tori hangs out with Zig. Jenna writes music again.

"Can't Tell Me Nothing" Part One was an amazing episode. I love how we get to know even more about Katie and her background. I love that we find out that her mother has Multiple sclerosis. It was intense how Katie broke that girl's nose while playing soccer and then when that girl got revenge and tripped Katie. I love how Katie goes to the doctor and asks him for injections. I love how Katie takes her mother's codeine to get rid of the pain. I think I'm going to love Katie's pain-killer addiction storyline. Jenna's plot was boring until Jake suggested that Jenna write a song that's actually meaningful. I love the Tristan plot of feeling abandoned by Tori who's hanging with Zig too much. I love how he goes to Owen for advice and Owen doesn't want anyone to know that they're brothers. when Tristan lied to Tori about Zig, Tori seemed overly emotional, so maybe she'll have a storyline about that later in the season. Anyways, I love how Zig agreed to perform with Tori and Tristan at the open coffee house at Degrassi, but the look on his face makes me think he doesn't want to do it. I give this episode a 9/10moreless
