Fiona comes to terms with her sexuality. Alli finally knows how to motivate the students to well on the math standardization test. Anya continues to get harassed by Owen.
Terrific episode! I've been waiting so long for this episode. I just realized that Fiona had an intense season. First she has an abusive boyfriend, then she becomes an alcoholic, and now she finally admits to herself that she's lesbian. I love how she came out to her mom and Holly J and I love the support she got. Now I completely understand Alli's plot in the last episode. I love how she promises the students a dance if she can tutor them for the math standardization test. Anya's sexual harassment plot was interesting. It's also interesting that the choose to have a main character sexually harass her. Owen just seems so creepy, but at the time socially-stupid. I wonder if he's in season 11 and he'll have some type of storyline where they identify what's wrong with him socially.
The penultimate two parter was a success! The sole reason was the fact that the interesting (and underused) characters were put on the forefront, and Clare & Eli were absent (thank god!) but I guess this is just to prepare us for the Clare/Eli filled finale.
Anya finally got a character-driven story line that had too do with sexual harassment. I would have liked to see at least something go on between Anya & Owen (we really haven't gone down the 'bad boy' route in a while), but I liked how she told him off in the end. This could be foreshadowing for a much larger story line, but I don't know.
Another noteworthy scene was Fiona coming out too her mom. All of Degrassi's 'coming-out to parents' scenes have not ended happily, and we haven't seen a girl do it, so it was definitely something new to watch. The story line itself hasn't really been done. I guess it reminds me of Paige/Alex, but I have a feeling this will be a little more thought out. Alli is finally getting redemption, I'm really liking where her character is going. Great episode.
Fiona and Adam have a fight when Fiona says that she likes Adam as "the best of two worlds", meaning she likes he is a boy and a girl. But Adam gets defensive, tells Fiona she likes girls, and they break up. Fiona then comes to grips and realizes she DOES like girls- Holly J, to be precise. Will Holly J feel the same way?
Anya gets Owen back in the CPR class, but he once again annoys her by putting his hands on her. Will they ever be?
Alli tries to motivate the grade tenners, and promises a dance, if they do well on the math exam. Will they get the dance they want?
All three plots were very well done and I can't really pick a least favorite. Favorite is definitely Fiona's, coming to terms with her being a lesbian was really well done. A+ episode, come on Degrassi, keep at this pace for the last 2 episodes of the season!
