Happy 10th anniversary to this show! I may have only started getting into it last year, but I'm sure it will continue on as the great show that it is for years to come.

wait, wait, wait! you just got into the show last year?! all you posts make so much sense nowUndecided

I've been watching Degrassi since season 3. This show has a lot to do with who i am, and this show really has stood the test of time. So glad this show has been such a big part of my upbringing.

as much as the show has had it's lows, I think I will always be watching.

Ah ive been watching since season 3 too. first episode i saw was u got the look i dont think i can ever stop watching either, even if the show gets really bad. i did stop watching a little from seasons 7-8 because they were getting rid of all the good characters, and i picked back up in season 8 and re watched all the episodes i missed and realized that almost everyone was new. it kinda freaked me out and made me not want to watch it, but i got hooked again lol

The first episode I ever saw was "Pride", but I don't remember if it was a repeat or original showing. I caught it late-night on TeenNick back when it shared a channel w/Noggin while feedingmy newborn. (For the record, I can't seem to remember which daughter, my first or second...middle-of-the-night feedingsall seem alike.) I had remembered reading about the ORIGINAL Degrassi when it first came out, saw that it was a "sequel" of sorts, and ended up hooked. I'm SO not in the demographic for this show, but don't really care. I'm not overly fond of the new setup...but can't seem to stop watching.

    So, happy anniversary, Degrassi TNG!

^ I feel the same way. Im still not really pleased with the new set-up but I can still watch. I also caught this show in Season 3 "dont dream its over" when paige said the line "If I'm such a bad friend, then go after him, Go!" that wass the very 1st scene that I saw of this show.Man, it still give me chills when I 1st saw this show because I never saw an actual teen show be so raw at the time. I was immediately hooked! (O, and i too saw this episode when it was on at 12AM at night too. the would usually play like 3 episodes on at that time slot) and for a while when i would stay at my cousins house, i would always check to see if the show would be on. then when I was at a local music/dvd store, m brother came up to me and said "hey, isnt this that show you like" and i just spazzed out! it was the season 2 dvd. and the season 1 dvd was 1 dvd was right next to it, so i figured i would get the most recent box-set so i could catch up. and till this day i STILL dont have the degrassi TNG: season 1 dvd. (but of course i've seen the season 1 episodes like a dozen times.lol but i should really by it to add to my collection. (of course im not gonna be the dvd sets anymore because (to me) this show has run its course. the original casts were the groundbreaking group, so its hard to really compete with them because the show was soooooo controversial at the time.) the show still does break new ground but not with the same impact as before. but thats because times have changed and T.V entertainment isnt as original anymore.

    sorry for the Double post.

But overall, this show just isn't relatable anymore. of course, some of the core plots are relatable but show show is now just looking for shock' factors. the year-end dances are the episodes i least look forward to (probably the worst episodes of the new generation). I just don't get why they are following the same year-end format every season. its just soo repetitive.I know people are gonna say things like "stop bashing the show" Im not bashing the show, Im a loyal fan and i dont have to like 100% of everything they do.as much as i love it, lately im not a big fan of it anymore. characters are still 1-demensional and unrealistic. like every character is fine, next minute the are at some extreme.

remember the day when manny and emma would just have silly and fun moments that didnt have to do with anything. now everything is so dramatic that we dont see normal interaction or comradery between characters.

Well, technically is ten years of Degrassi: TNG, and 24 (or 32, depending who you ask) years of the Degrassi universe as a whole.

Old enough to have been sitting at work reading a magazine that had an article describing a new show coming out titled "Degrassi Junior High" and later that day mentioning it to my husband.
