    I keep telling myself...it's only a show...it's only a show...

I don't know of a single Christian church that will just let some person off the street come in "tomorrow" and get baptized. Baptism is also never a "first step"; if anything, it's a FINAL step, or near to it. In the Protestant sect, it's considered a public display of a personal decision. (Catholics sprinkle babies; but even if you convert as an adult, you have to complete classes before getting baptized). For instance, at our church, while you don't have to be a voting member of the congregation, as long as you attend, you can talk to the pastor about receiving the rite of baptism. The important part is TALK TO THE PASTOR. Even my daughters, who attended our church practically at birth, had to meet with the pastor to be sure they're doing it for all the right reasons. Our pastor also didn't cover their faces with a hanky; they were perfectly capable of holding their own noses.

    OK...rant over.

this season has been pretty boring, to be honest. only good parts were (partialy) the opening episode, and the niner storylines.

Aw don't be like that Baller. This was the omly downer of a plot in this season really. Jenna's entire character was ruined for me in this episode. The friendshiip with Becky is forced and getting baptized for a guy you've known one day? Mature my ass. Same Jenna wirh half a living brain cell. If she was feeling so lost she could of made a move on Jake before he and Katie started their little garden of love. Or do anyhing besides join a cult.

    ^ ahahaha...Idk...

---jenna's whole plot was week (although i LOVED the jenna/becky garden scene opener)

--- Tired of seeing Drew and his dumb self taking uip all the screen time

--- Clare has become a (bit) redeeming, but she is still very whiney, and she's horrible in crying scenes.

--- Fiona (in my opinion) has become so uninteresting. her behavior is just so immature now.

--- Imogen went from being corky and fun, to acting like a FULL BLOWN disney channel character..she seems so unaware

People, please tell me if i'm wrong. This season hasnt blown me away so far. i enjoy parts of it, (mostly the niners) but i feel like a lot of these character still havent grown each year as much as they should. by now, many of these characters shouldn't be making such dumb decisions.

Did Jenna ever mention she was an atheist/agnostic prior to this? She is kind of a dummy for thinking that premarital sex with a pastor's son was the right tree to bark up.

I'm hoping that Becky turns out to be a lesbian has to go through a journey of self-discovery... it seems like that's what thy're hinting at with the looks she gives Jenna sometimes. Besides don't they say that the people who speak loudest against homosexuality are the ones with something to hide?

In my opinion, Imogen, Campbell, the niners made the season, and the play made the summer season.

Everything else was pretty so-so. By the end of this season I

Everything else was pretty so-so. By the end of this season I was so annoyed by some of the couples/characters. Drew/Bianca and Alli/Dave come to mind.

Becky was interested when she had to do with the play (Walking On Broken Glass and the finale), but the rest of her appearances (Closer To Free and Never Ever), she just wasn't interesting. Her friendship with Jenna feels forced as hell.

Drew's character is just going round and round in circles. He makes a dumb choice, then picks his life, then makes another dumb choice, then picks his life up, then makes an even dumber choice, etc (the list goes on).

Him and Bianca's relationship has honestly gotten really mediocre. I feel like all of their drama should have been over and the only plot that should have revolved around them this season was the engagement thing. Drew breaking up with Katie could have easily been a B-Plot and still have Katie go down a bad road.

The Clare stuff was okay. Not as good as Imogen, Cam, or the niners though.

Then there was Alli and Dave, who I feel have reached their climate with each other.

Lastly, the Hockey Jerks Jocks were really annoying.

    ---------------------

As for this episode, I didn't like it. Honestly the weakest part of Showdown.

    ^ 1000% agree with everything.

I think people are giving clares plot WAY too much credit. it had some good points, but other then that, i didnt see anything that kept me wanting more from week to week. her character itself is just too hard to watch in general.

Exaclty. There's just always too much with her and she has gotten whinny. I commend Degrassi for covering this strong issue, but I just feel that it didn't match the quality of the Imogen/Cam/Niners/Play plots.

This has got to be one of the most overrated storylines on the show.

I'm glad that we can at least all agree that Clare's character has become quite unlikeable as of late.

I am glad that the show is downplaying relationships this season thus far, at least. there's a ton of couples, but there's also a ton of issues, and people in said couplings are getting alot of solo time and character development.

    at least that's my take.

Yea, that's what I like too. However, I predict that the fall season will be similar to The Breaking Point/In Too Deep, in that it will focus on relationships too much.
