  • Ashley restarts her music career and she makes the mistake of teaming up with Jimmy.

    7.0
"It's Tricky" is an alright Degrassi episode. I wish the Degrassi writers would give Ashley some new storylines. If I want to see Ashley start a music career, please let a music producer love her, and let her succeed. I'm sick and tired of Ashley teaming up with someone in her music career and everybody liking that person better than Ashley. I mean Jimmy's a good rapper, but it's digusting how everyone automatically loves him better than Ashley. Ashley's not even a bad singer. So at the end of this episode when Ashley deletes Jimmy rap for the demo, so it's only her singing in the demo, I was happy for her. I'm glad she did it because she deserves a real chance at a music career. I actually found the subplot entertaining with Mia and Holly J. sharing a locker. I give this episode a 7/10.moreless
  • Holly J vs. Mia.

    6.5
Well, the A plot, this season is filled with out of character mistakes, and Ashley is an example. Ashley & Jimmy are supposed to have a great relationship, but because of Craig, she throws being a lawyer away, and starts obsessing over the music business with Jimmy. Excpet she doesn't want Jimmy in the picture, so when Griffin hooks them up, she realizes she isn't needed, and she makes a stupid move, by deleting Jimmy's track before sending it out to the producers. She ruined Jimmy's dream, 'cause of being jealous. So stupid. I liked the Ashley & Ellie interaction though. The B plot gave us a taste of the 2 new regular characters. As Mia is established as a regular character, and she shares a locker with Holly J. The biggest wannabe ever. Even though Holly J sort of won, cause Mia didn't get the guy in the end. Seemed like a wasted episode. It was entertaining though.moreless
  • Ashely makes her dumbest move ever! Cool Music from Ash and Jimmy...and jealousy.

    8.7
Ashley and Jimmy are the A plots this time. And let me just say it's a major step up from LIAB! Okay, while not on of my favorite episodes, IT is rather fun to watch. It has (to me) a good Degrassi feel to it. And in many ways it make a lot of since to make Ashely become a **** this season....I'm really glad to see her back and in a main plot. Last season the had the best episode: CHW... and this season I'd say IT is a runner up. When Ashley gets "inspired" by Craig's new album, she drags Jimmy into making a new song. "Tell Me Lies" and it's a really good track. It went well with the feel of the episode. I liked that Craig's album had songs of the people he's kissed on his CD....about Ellie, Ash, Manny and even Marco. It was hilarious. I liked Ashley being a **** for once...and that Ellie had a good sense of humor in this episode. What I didn't like was the new guy Griffin acting as though he would get somewhere with Jimmy rapping in a wheelchair....I think Jimmy had a right to be insulted... and I loved that Ashely felt like all she would ever be is a sidekick...I kinda felt sad for her....she always handles her issues majesticly until now. The B plot was about Mia liking some new dude, Sav and it was rather boring...also she clashed with another new comer, Holly J, lil sister of Heather Sinclair....it was...below average....the B plot was below average. but the A plot was above average.moreless
  • Ashley and Jimmy decide to get back into the music business.

    8.5
Yeah this episode wasn't all that original because they were once trying to get into the music industry, but i loved how they turned ashley into the jealous girlfriend. It definetely showed us a different side of Ashley's personality and she kinda turned into the charecter we loved to hate. Not like the Holly J type but she was getting close. I did not like how Jimmy sort of stole the show from her because that just seemed like a *donkey* thing to do. I know they were booing her but at least let her get back into it. But knowing Jimmy what do you expect. So this was one of the better episodes of the season.moreless
  • In this episode as Ashley and Jimmy continue their rock solid relationship, kinks and cracks begin to form as Ashley is faced with once more with choosing between her personal goals and those of someone she loves.moreless

This was a good episode to me---good, not great. There were a lot of things I liked about it, but a lot of things, I didn't: namely that we have visited this place before. I can easily recall Ashley going through the same things with Craig when they were doing music. She put aside her personal goals for him. Okay, fine, that's all well and good. Mr. Manning gets his big shot and is gone. Alright, good, that's fine, too. I do like the fact that Craig got a storyline and we got an update on him, albeit a minor one. Yet while I feel annoyed because this issue is like a broken record for her, it reminds me that if someone doesn't properly deal with a situation then it will only return in another form until they conquer it. Ashley never properly dealt with the situation with her music when dating Craig; she just went away from it. Going to Europe didn't eliminate the situation; Craig might have been gone but that issue was still there to confront her, and confront it eventually has, in the form of Jimmy Brooks. Now she wants to do something about it at his expense. That is where most of my dislike comes in. Instead of saying, 'alright, you do your thing, I'll do mine' or 'maybe we'll collaborate for now and I can go solo later' she decides to cut it off at the chase and alienate him, because that is all erasing his song will do, she will look like the villain. My sympathy went as far the end of the episode, but when she did that, it died completely. I will say it was a nice way to end the episode, because obviously this isn't over, and to me it spells a quickly coming demise for their relationship. Oh well.moreless
