As far as over hyped Degrassi "specials" go, this would have to be one of them. It's only as of late when Degrassi decided that Valentine's Day was a huge deal considering how much focus we got in this episode. Spinner is a very interesting character, Jane on the other hand isn't. We got a few good moments such as the return of Jay & Jimmy but we got nothing we haven't seen before with Spinner & Jane.

I liked Holly J being the backdrop here and I loved the interactions between her and Spinner. As for Kelly & Emma? The college try for Manny, Liberty & Emma was quite laughable overall and it really didn't compare to season 6-7 college scenes but it was still an entertaining watch. Even though it was cliche, it was still entertaining.

The "cliffhanger" was uninteresting and there really wasn't much point to it. Clare/KC/Connor? Very uninteresting. Sure KC was one of the few newbies that I liked in season 8 but watch Connor spaz out over KC asking Clare to the dance was way too childish and I think that's what the problem was in season eight. Hardly ever any real drama, just entertaining fluff. Fair special, definitely the weak two parter of the bunch.
  • Season 8, Episode 8.

Spinner does not get accepted into police school, and Jane is selected to do a symposium, or something. I can't believe he just lied to Jane like that! Degrassi isn't as good as it was in seasons 1-5, but it's still watchable. I can't believe the promo for future episodes on The-N gave away who gave that girl the rose. At least it led you to believe that... I'm still watching the episode, so I don't know for sure. And two boys asking Claire??? I'm lost... Darcy, hell yeah, but Claire?! The character is so nerdy. Not entirely bad though. The Emma/Kelly thing was kinda cool, I guess...
  • Spinner doesn't get into police college and lies to Jane. Clare has to chose between K.C and Connor to take to the dance. Emma and Kelly start going out.

This episode of Degrassi wasn't too bad of an episode. Spinner doesn't get into police college. Jane gets mad at him for lieing. Spinner gets drunk, shows up at her house and then gets kicked out. Doesn't seem like a lot of drama but it was fun seeing Mike Lobel playing Jay. Clare gets a rose from K.C and Connor. There's not too much to say about that. It's obvious who she should choose to go to the dance with. Kelly and Emma start going out this episode. I don't think that's a good idea at all because when they break up Emma will get all emotional and whiny. It's was also really great seeing Aubrey Graham playing Jimmy again. I wonder if we get to see him propose in the next episode.
