  • A show that deals with sexuality, alcohol, drugs, drama, love, pain, and relationships that all teenagers go through. It gives a great view on the lives of many different teenagers of many different ages and how they deal with life.

    10
I am such a huge fan of this show I don't think I would have survived if I didn't recently start watching Degrassi. I am so happy that I was able to be introduced to this show by my friend Brhyan. If it weren't for him I never would have seen this show nor fell in love with it so much.
  • This is one of the best teenage dramas on television.

    10
Degrassi:TNG, is one the best teenage dramas on television these days. I started watching this show one night, and I was able to pull certain things from it and say, that happened to me before. The plots stay original and fresh. It is refreshing to watch characters on shows actually progress instead of just getting into new situations. Things happen to these kids because they become older and such. The relationships between the characters are so believeable. It makes you want to watch the show each week. Another thing that pleases me is that it focues not only on one specific group of people
  • Teens dealing with pressure to do the right thing or go bad.

    10
Degrassi is a fun filled adventure including teens that deal with peer pressure and so much more. While they might look like the average normal kids they are they have secret lives most teens deal with. Dating and backstabbing is normal and so is finding out if you\'re straight, lesbian or bisexual. Degrassi high gets new students every year and that means more drama. With getting more students, some student come back like Craig and his bad rockstar habits or the new girl Darcy and her used to be Christian attitude. If you lik elove this show as much as me then you\'ll give it a chance and I gauruntee if you love drama then you\'ll love this show!!!
  • I fell in love with this show!

    10
I just recently got into this show because I was watching reruns of Beyond the Break and so I kept the tv on when this show came on and fell in love with it. I don't know why, but it's addicting. I need to go back and watch from the beginning but I kinda get it just from watching last season's. I can't wait til Friday so I can watch the new season where Craig comes back home and brings his dirty drug habit with him... ooohhh *biting nails* He's my favorite character... my favorite episodes are the ones with Jay & Silent Bob, I love Jay he's so hot! :)
  • It's so amazing!

    9.6
It is getting interesting. I can't wait till the next season it is going to be great. I rreally want to know who gets killed and if JT loves that girl. I wounder if Shawn and Emma can stay a couple. I can't wait till I know if Manny gets in with her boyfriends rock star habits. It should be good after all it is Degrassi. If this show is not good I might not watch it anymore. LOL, like that will ever happen. I love Degrassi and its drama that is in it, its the best show ever (not really).
  • I remember when I liked it.

    2.2
Oh man. This show used to be so good, me & my two cousins would get together and watch it every friday. But that was a while ago, when I was alot younger. Now watching it, all I see is cliches & overacting. Honestly, then the only good actor, the guy who played Sean, left for no real good reason. Back to the cliches, we have the tough guy, the emotional rocker, the gay guy, the blonde chick, the token black guy, the goth chick, the emo chick, the nerd, I\'m gonna stop there. But, I have at least four or five more characters to go. If you are gonna watch this show, make sure it is the older seasons. Because they are the only good ones. Sad how bad this show got.
  • Its just SO great

    10
I SO love this show. I saw one episode and i was addicted immediately. I think it is so great because it is about real things, there are no alien-invasions and no one can fly. In real life you wont have seven people who are gay, you mostly wont have a shooting. but that all could happen, and things wich happen in there could always come to you. im sure almost everyone can relate her/hisself to something someone in the show is going through, so thats why i think so many people love it. If you see some weird lines, im dutch so i dont speak english basically. Hope there are more people who think this way, send me a message if you agree please. Love, x-x-x Yrah
  • A spin-off of DH and DJH. Great show about teenagers and their issues. A must-watch show.

    9.8
One of the greatest shows out there. There are some excellent actors on the show like Jake Epstein, Cassie Steele, Shanae Grimes, Adamo Ruggiero, Lauren Collins, Deanna Casaluse, Mike Lobel, and of course Daniel Clark. They made this show great. The guys are all really hott, especially Jake Epstein and the girls are all really pretty. The story lines are for the most part great even though recently they started going down hill. The show overall is very influencial and it teaches great lessons in life. Without Degrassi, the-n's rating will go down, way down. So Go Degrassi! This show is a must watch.
  • I HATE this show and other ones that are exactly the same. If their going to cancel out other GOOD shoes, why don't they at least make it good? And why won't it let me score lower than 1!!!!!!!!!!

    1.1
This crappy show is about a bunch of gay, libral, Canadian characters who go around school, causing troubkle and making eachother pregnant. The characters suck and the plot is eXACTLY ThE SaME as all of those others shows on \"The N\".

My review is \"This is. and the rest of the identical ones the the worst showshows ever. I can\'t believe its still on. I hope this review make people change their minds and get rid of this queer show and get back good shows like \"Kenan and Kell\", \"Rocket Power\", \"Hey Arnold\" and other G00D shows that normal people want to watch.
  • I used to like this show.

    8.0
When I was a little younger I liked this show, but now it's so much different! I haven't been watching it anymore and when I do there is so many different characters and all these weird plot twists. Plus all these new relationships (friend and dating wise). Like when they were little these ppl would have never been friends! I really don't like this show anymore. It's way to dramatic now! I hate shows that make it so dramatic and have to make everything a twist it makes your head spin! This show really lost what it used to have.
  • i grew up watching this show!

    10
i just love Degrassi: The Next Generation. i have watched this show from the very beginning, when emma and manny were in the 7th grade, and now they are seniors in high school. i am a junior in high school, and it feels like i have grown up with them. i have even seen some of the original degrassi series, like degrassi junior high. but it is definitley not as good as Degrassi: TNG, but it was cool to see snake, spike, and joey, when they were just teenagers. Degrassi: TNG gets even better every season. i just love this show!!

Michael Ryan "Mike" Lobel (born March 7, 1984) is a Canadian actor.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Michael Ryan Lobel is the oldest of three siblings. At a young age he began showing interest in music and visual arts which drew him to Etobicoke School of the Arts. He attended ESA from 1998 to 2003, first majoring in music (a skilled musician, he studied percussion) then later switching to drama. While at the school he formed several musical groups and is currently working on his solo project. It was in his graduating year at ESA that he began working as an actor.

In 2003 Mike made his film debut in an adaptation of Oliver Twist directed by Jacob Tierney entitled Twist. He played a small role as a street thug alongside actor Nick Stahl.

Mike’s most notable performance to date is his portrayal of “Jay Hogart”, a manipulative school bully on Degrassi: The Next Generation. He maintains that he is nothing like his character in real life. Mike had originally auditioned to play the role of “Dylan” and instead was offered the larger role.

He has appeared on television in Zixx: Level One and Sue Thomas F.B.Eye and has had starring roles in Selling Innocence and Booky Makes Her Mark. Mike will make a guest appearance on a new television series next year entitled The Best Years.
  • A "drama" show about teens in Canada.

    10
Degrassi: The Next Generation is one of the greastest shows I have ever watched, and realistic. I started watching it at my friends house and I saw one episode and was blown away. I was bummed that I did not have The-N channel on my TV at home. A year ago we got it. I was thrilled that I would be able to watch Degrassi. I got so into it that I now know more facts about it than any other of my Degrassi-loving friends. This show is so good. It portrays the lives of a group of highschool, (and now in season 6, college) kids in Canada. They mean it when they say its about teens, drugs, sex, oral sex, relationships, abortion, religion, and eating disorders. Yet, it is so much more than just that. Do not take those words the wrong way. It keeps you wanting watch it again and again. You learn so much. At least I did. Half the reasons why I have not done any stupid teenager things is because I learned from this show. I am so addicted to it. Every episode is something new. The drama wants you to get more and more every time. And when you think about it, this show is SO REAL. The things they say, their thoughts, their actions, it is all what the real world people would do. I think that is what makes it so good. And the cute boys. :*
  • Degrassi the next generation is a great show about teen life in all shapes of the immagination

    10
Degrassi:the next generation is an amazing show about teenage life that tackles real issues. It makes things more real and it pushes the limits of teenage television. It was the first show ever to air a gay kiss in canada. It is a show of heart-ache and sadness and joy and glee, it makes you laugh and still it can make you cry. Not many shows of this genre remain as popular as Degrassi over a six year time period, but Degrassi doesnt follow the norm it does what other shows dare not try to do all they can, you see Degrassi... it goes there
  • Out with the old characters and in with the new ones is not cutting it.

    9.0
Degrassi: TNG was an excellent show in its prime. The storylines were wonderful and related well to its audience. It was realistic with powerful social issues: substance abuse, self-esteem, safe sex and the consequences of unprotected sex like teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and even the controversial topic of abortion (featuring an hour-long episode that wasn't shown in the U.S. for years). The characters had depth that grew throughout the years. However, the older and, in my opinion, stronger characters have moved on and either left the show or gone on to face the challenges of college. The younger and newer characters have become the focal point of most episodes and recycled storylines. The most recent example was Darcy's internet stalker that had shades of the first season, first episode involving Emma and a man she met on the internet.

The show is still very well written but as it ages it is starting to lose its spark.
  • This show is pretty much a real life show about teens. None of that crap bout rich teens living in a mansion. The chracters are:Emma, Sean, Manny, JT, Toby, Liberty, Danny, Dierk, Darcy, Spinner, Jimmy, Marco, Dylan, Ashley, Alex, Jay, and many others.

    10
I am absoloutly in love with this show! Its AMAZING! I have been watching since I was 10. 3 years and still counting. It has gotten me through the roughest times and growing up is gonna be tough no matter what. I have gotten many frieds hooked on this show as well. Its so fun and dramatic. My family knows the entire show....and they dont even watch it! I would recomend this to just about anyone. It covers issues many shows wont cover. Cutting, Abortion, Pregancey, School Shootings, Sex, Oral Sex, Street Racing, Drinking and many other issues. Also it just shows ALWAYS go to someone if you have a problem. Don\'t keep it to yourself. TELL SOMEONE!
  • This show is great and keeps getting better and better

    10
This show rocks! It has a great storyline and keeps getting better and better! It has an amazing cast and characters and it is the best show ever! True, I haven't watched very much of it but I know it's great! I love how the cast gets so into their characters. The last episode I saw was when Darcy was posting revealing pictures for money, the first part but it rocks! The characters all have a little part to their own, Manny, Emma, Ashley, Craig, Paige, Marco, JT, Liberty, Jimmy, Spinner, Toby, Ellie, Sean, Hazel, Alex, Jay, Darcy, all who make the show the best one out there!
  • This show is about a group of teens in high school and college. The episodes deal with some serious issues teens go through.

    9.5
I really like this show. It's one of my guilty pleasures. I make sure I watch every week. I started watching the fifth season and ever since then I been hooked. I really like the fact that the show deals with real issues teens might be going through while their in school. Another thing that makes it good is the drama. You never know what could happen next. It keeps me on my toes. I think the characters are great. They can really play their roles very well. I can't wait to see much more of the show.
  • A great teen show about...well, teens.

    9.6
Degrassi: The Next Generation gives audiences an accurate portrayal of teenagers and the issues that surround them. I always tune in on Fridays on The-N because Degrassi is real. It never sugarcoats an issue like rape, sex, or school shootings. It keeps things real and is a teen show that never shys away from the issues. The characters are identifiable. The stories are easy to follow and well written. It's a show that I hope will last a long time due to the life lessons we can learn from the students of Degrassi. I hope that this season will be even greater!

  • Degrassi is a show about some 15 kids experiencing life. They go through a lot of issues that most TV shows are afraid to. The characters are real, the drama, while sometimes being over-the-top, keeps me on the edge of my couch. I enjoy this show a lot!!!

    9.5
I love this show. The actors and actresses are all perfect for their part. Even the adults contribute just the right amount. This is one of those shows were you cry when someone dies, laugh when the preppiest girl in school gets dumped and smile when your favorite couple finally get together. I have experienced each of those, and to tell you the truth I have experienced most of those multiple times. You can't help but hope JT and Liberty end up together. Or Jimmy and Spinner become best friends again. This show is my best friend, I love it lots!
  • In my reveiw you will find that i mention one of my favotite episoides\"total eclipse of the heart\".You will also find that i Mention that the show is Easy to follow and that i\'m already caught up with the show.

    10
I belive that Degrassi:The next generation is one of the best shows of our time.It definitaly goes there.Qoute:(degrassi goes to a place where theres other shows don\\\'t)unqoute.I started watching degrassi about a month ago and yet i\\\'m already caught up with what\\\'s going on in every characters life. From the first episoide to the New season. The Episoides i would have to say is the best is \\\"total eclipse of the heart\\\".In this one Marco has to confront his past. This one was truly provacative and emotional. If you are one of those people who think that Degrassi is \\\"too much drama\\\" and don\\\'t watch you should.
  • i dont get why this show is considered better than south of nowhere. they are both mainly about the same thing, but every time i try to watch degrassi i get turned off cause every single actor in this show is seriously ugly, with exception of darcy.

    1.6
i was reading the reviews for south of nowhere, and some people said the show was a lame american version of degrassi. south of nowhere might be an american version, but it definitely isnt lame. first of all, the cast of south of nowhere, such as mandy musgrave, valery ortiz, and gabrielle christian are all really beautiful, whereas miriam mcdonald and stacy farber and the girl in love with the cripple guy are downright ugly. i know shows shouldnt be about whether actors are good looking or not, but i really cant stand seeing miriam mcdonalds face. she\\\'s so ugly and such a turn off that i cant even watch degrassi for 5 minutes. the south of nowhere plot is also a hell lot better, and everything is introduced in only a few episodes, whereas degrassi needs tons of episodes to introduce the same amount. in short, degrassi sux = ugly cast, south of nowhere is awesome = beautiful actors (mandy musgrave!!)
  • I love this show

    10
I started watching it probably 2 years ago and I watch this every new episode along with south of nowhere. I'm older in age but I feel like they touch on every issue that someone could go through. I've really bonded with the people on the show and I feel a connection to each of them. You could say the seem like old friends and I know that sounds lame, but I cannot help but enjoy this show. I really cannot find a single negative thing to say about it. Everyone constantly is changing and I love that they have even followed some off to college. I hope they continue to follow them.
  • Realistic, Entertaining, Insightful and Intense.

    10
I definitely fell in love with this show from the beginning. Although certain episodes weren't as great the last two seasons were definitely worth the watch. I have watched this show grow and it has really became more intense as they portray the reality of betrayal, drugs, sex, and other real life issues teens face today. This is a show that definitely most teens can relate to and they really know how to get someone sucked into the whole drama scene that flows through this show from the love triangle to the whole shooting episode. Degrassi is definitely getting better despite of the loss of some of their previous characters and I want to keep watching to see where it goes.
  • ok, so this show has brought me closer to myself. when the eppisode when elli cut herself it brought me back. i used to cut myself and the episode showed me how to cope with the stress.

    10
ok, so this show has brought me closer to myself. when the eppisode when elli cut herself it brought me back. i used to cut myself and the episode showed me how to cope with the stress. when i cut i noticed that friends cared, just like paige did for ellie. so all the things you put out on the show, like the rape episode, maybe is like the real trauma that rape vitims go through. thank you for the light that ive finally reached. this show brought me to a whole new level in my life that brought me confidence in myself and with other perople. you really inspire teens to be themselve, no matter how bad that honesty could be. (and a special thanks to stacy farber, you are my tru hero!)
  • yea its a teen show...yea I'm 23...but really its adictive!

    9.6
First time I watched this show it was really late and i was drinking a mikes hard...I had a light buzz and I was just flipping. And came across this show. I don't know why I stopped to watch but I did. It happened to be on a marathon night before a new season was going to start. I stopped on the episode that Ashley found out that her dad was Gay. That was it. I was hooked. I stayed up all night (5 am) watching the show. Then couldn't wait to tune in to see more. I find this show to be better then any teen show I had growing up with dealing with real problems. The best thing we had was Seventeen and even that was far from what a real teen dealt with. I really enjoy the show...so much I can ignore the sometimes bad acting. The strong story lines out shine it completely.
  • I\'m sorry, but I think this show is stupid.

    1.3
Alright, I\'m sorry if you don\'t agree with me. This is my opinion, and NOTHING anyone says or does is going to change it. So, if you are offended easily, please, don\'t read. This show has too much drama. It makes high school look like it\'s the worst thing that will ever happen to you. It\'s not. At least, not for me, that is. I hate drama. I can\'t even stand to be around people who are full of drama. I don\'t even want to think about drama. Which is one reason why I hate this show.

But the truth is, I used to like this show. Before it became a teenage soap opera. Before any one had even heard of it. When it first came out. I also stopped liking it when I made a friend my freshman year who was obsessed with it. I just got so sick of her talking about it all the time, I just stopped watching it.

There was also one episode in particular that I really hated. It was the last episode I ever watched. It was the one where Ellie starts cutting herself. I really think airing that episode was a VERY BAD idea. I realise that the whole moral of that story is not cut yourself, but I think people got the wrong message from that episode. I think it just gave people ideas, and might have inspired people to start cutting themsleves. My friend\'s 10 year old sister starting cutting herself because she saw Ellie do it.

But of course, if it wasn\'t for Degrassi, than The-N ratings would drop down. Waaaaaaaaaay down.

This show is about a group of 8th to 12th graders at Degrassi Community School. Kids at DCS deal with all kinds of issues (i.e. sex, drugs, dating, rape, abortion, sexuality, oral sex, religion and eating disorders). In the second season DCS merges with a nearby high school, so everybody is still at the same school. This show is basically based on the episodes of Degrassi Junior High as well as Degrassi High. Some characters from those two shows are in Degrassi: The Next Generation with the part of teachers, parents , kids ,and teens :) ! ! ! !
