The show is actually a good show, despite its bad moments. It started out melodramatically in the first season, and even stepped up the issues in the next season. The third, fourth, and fifth seasons were great, but things started going downhill in the sixth and seventh seasons. The quality of the episodes were picked up in the eighth season, and heading into the ninth, they look promising. The plots can really go there, but other times they just seem like fillers. Most of the times though episodes pop up that keep you absolutely hooked to the show. Degrassi has very low ratings in viewers, but I think if more people knew about the quality of the show, then it could definitely compete with some of the bigger teen dramas.
