Episode Recap

When Craig gets home, he discovers that his father has been rummaging through his dark room, viewing all the photos that he has taken of Joey and Angela. This led to his father beating him, resulting in the destruction of Craig's beloved camera and violent purple bruises all over his mid-section.

The next day, Craig's father apologizes and offers Craig a few thousand dollars for a new digital camera. Later, Craig takes Angela off of Emma's hands, promising just to go to the park. He takes Angela for an ice cream cone and while there tries to convince the trusting child to go back to British Columbia with him, with the money that his father gave him for a camera. Just as they are to leave, Joey arrives and Angela invites him to go to B.C. with them. An infuriated and horrifies Joey orders Craig to stay away from his daughter. When Craig arrives home, his father initially greets him warmly, offering to spend a night in with movies and chinese. Unfortunately, Joey calls Craig's dad to tell him about Craig's plans to kidnap Angela. Craig rushes up the stairs and locks himself in his room, while his father chases him up the stairs, a golf club clutched in his hands. Craig hurriedly places a call to Sean, begging him to meet him at the railroad tracks. His father pounds on the door furiously and when he finds the door locked, he uses the gold club to knock it down. Luckily, Craig has already made it out the window, a packed bag in his possession.

Craig meets up with Sean, and debates whether to leave for British Columbia. After playing a very dangerous game of chicken with a train, he runs off, laughing maniacally, but not before clueing Sean in on his father's abuse. A stricken Sean obtains help from Emma and Joey, revealing that Craig is beaten by his father. Joey and Sean continue to search for Craig, and finally locate him at his mother's grave.
As a last decision, Craig wants to leave his father and live with Joey. Grieving and remorseful, Craig's father tries to convince his son to stay with him, and not leave like his mother did. Craig is guiltstricken, but he tells his father he has three choices: a) he can call child protective services b) he can go and live with Joey while they try to work through this, or c) he can come home and continue being beaten up. His father tries to deny the abuse, but the evidence on Craig's stomach is more than clear. A sad but determined Craig grabs his things and leaves, while his father stands on the lawn and watches his son walk out of his life.
