Del Reeves' Country Carnival

Show Summary

Del Reeves' Country Carnival is a country music variety show hosted by an award-winning singer from North Carolina. Del Reeves brings his music and comedy to the nation in a broadcast that mixes the latest country hits with celebrity interviews and old-fashioned slapstick comedy. Reeves starts off every show with an original song, crooning hits that include "Be Glad," "Take A Little Goodwill Home" and "Just Someone I Used To Know" Celebrity country music artists appear on the show throughout the season, including Jeannie C. Riley, Bob Luman, Crystal Gayle and Bobby Goldsboro. In one segment, actor Burt Reynolds does a sketch from his film, Deliverance with Reeves. In another episode, a young Ron Howard and actor Don Knotts reenact some scenes from the Andy Griffith show in between songs. At the end of the show, all the invited guests do a sing along with Reeves and the studio audience that segues into a balloon dropping finale.
