This episode was filmed shortly before Joseph Kearns' death. Although not confirmed, there was rumor going around at the time that the writers knew that Kearns was ill and may not live much longer, so they wrote this episode to prepare the show's viewers for his death. As it turned out, after Kearns died, it was written in the series that George Wilson moved away and sold his house to his brother, John.
