At a plush spa, the sparse diet, vigorous exercise program and thermal mud baths bring out the worst in Suzanne -- especially when Julia and Mary Jo are encouraged to gain weight.
  • Absolutely Hilarious!!

This is one of my very favorite episodes of Designing Women. Each of the four women have some of their most funny and classic lines of the series. Suzanne treats everyone to a weekend at a plush spa. When Charlene and Suzanne are trying to lose weight, Mary Jo and Julia are trying to gain weight which leads to conflict and humor. An encounter with "trashy Beverly Hills women," a Trivial Pursuit game, and a massive mud fight top off one of the funniest ensemble episodes in the entire series' history. This is a must-see episode for the Designing Women fan!!moreless

    • (After being kicked out of the spa) Julia: I suppose in my heart I always knew that someday we would end up like this. I mean, well, it's kind of fitting isn't it? Here we are going down the highway into the dark Georgia night. Four aging Southern belles; war-torn hair, dirty faces; a nanny, a baby, and a crippled black man.

    • Suzanne: I'm gonna need more to eat than seaweed and kelp if they expect me to go off and climb Mount Kilimanjaro!

    • Suzanne: I never would've come here if I had known they have it in for big people.
