    • QUOTES (1)

      • (As Mary Jo prepares for her date)
Julia: Here is a quarter for the payphone, Mary Jo. Mother always used to give Suzanne and me a dime to call home in case somebody got too fresh. I don't think Suzanne ever used hers. She eventually used the money to go to Europe.

    • NOTES (1)

      • With this episode, guest-star Gilliland began a recurring role as Mary Jo's steady beau, but fell for (and married) co-star Jean Smart in real life.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • The end of the episode is an allusion to the Pilot episode and the very first of Julia's now famous diatribes. Ray Don spends the entire episode trying to figure out where he has seen Julia. When he leaves and she closes the door she says "And I want to thank YOU Ray Don." This is a direct allusion to the first episode when she told him off in a restaurant and said "And I want to thank you, Ray Don, on behalf of all the women in the world..."
