this was another good episode from season 3, it was nice to see andrew back on the show, but will he beable to forgive bree, it was also nice to see john rowland back agian after a season away, the storyline with susan was probably the worst of the week in writers dont seem to know what to do with her other the silly romatic comedy fluff which make the character the least intresting of the 3, the ending of thsi episode was predictable but still fun with mike waking up,

  • A nice, largely self-contained episode of Desperate Housewives.

This episode featured the return of John, played by Jesse Metcalfe - nice to see that Jesse still holds the show that made him a star in such high regard. Gabrielle and John's relationship is turned on its head beautifully as John is the one who gets to throw Gabrielle out after a lovemaking session at Sinclair Hotels when his fiancee - the hotel chain's daughter (think Paris Hilton) - shows up unexpectedly. There is a poignant goodbye scene featuring Gaby and John and its nice monent when he finally calls her by her first name and not Mrs Solis. He's well and truly moved on.

Gabby went to a health spa, and John was there !!!, she told him her and Carlos were getting divorced, but then he told her he was engaged to some Paris clone Tammy! Her father owns the chain of hotels they were in. She hid in John's suitcase and he wheeled her out after their tryst! He left her in the elevator though! The next morning he told her that they can't be together, because he doesn't want to screw things up with Tammy. Aww so sad! Bree and Orson were in the waiting room to go on their honeymoon, when she was watching tv she saw Andrew! He was being interviewd for living on the streets LOL, so of course Bree went back home!, She finally found him at a soup kitchen, Later Orson found him in the streets, and talked to him.. Guess that must have worked cos at the end he came back home! So Orson isn't all that bad after all? Susan went to Ian's country house, but they got into an argument about how may guys shes been with ( 11 ! goshh), but then she slept with him anyways! What about Mike !!!... Bet she regrets it now ! Lynette is still having a hard time with Nona?, She forced her way to drive with Lyn to meet Tom at the camping site ( why was she invited? was the daughter there?), and of course they argued, so Nona hitched a ride with a truckie! They met up again and had a heart to heart talk.. so guess its all good for now?
  • It is hoilday weekend on Wisteria Lane.

Awesome episode...well Desperate Housewives is always good! Bree and Orson good of went on their honeymoon first then find Andrew and it is kinda Andrew's fault he got kicked out. Susan still thinks she is cheating on Mike but she ends up kisses Ian and sleeping with him. Tom is stuck up camping and the kids are like running and Lynette has to go up and help but she isn't so happy when Nora joins. Nora can be the 2 types of crazy because when she drives Lynette's car over. I think Nora and Lynette at the end finally settled their differences.
  • Getting Away From It All Written by Bob Daily Directed by Wendy Stanzler

    8.0
    "Great"
On a wet, horrible January day when sometimes I don’t know whether I’m coming or going, the idea of getting away from home sounds pretty appealing but sadly for me, it’s something that will have to happen on a much later date.

Interestingly that little wish of mine has a point as this week’s episode is all about getting away from it all and like most of the second season, the ladies all embark on mostly separate adventures in an attempts to evade their problems. Suffice to say there are some problems you just can’t get away from.

For the ranking of storylines will be done on more of a case of who I sympathise with the most (don’t be too surprised who comes in least) and whether their dilemma is interesting or not.

This week, I extend the most sympathy to Lynette because aside from being my favourite housewife, her situation is more problematic and surprisingly enough, one in which she isn’t exactly responsible for as well.

Not only is dealing with the fact your husband has a secret love child until a few months ago even he wasn’t privy to but when the mother of this child happens to be a full on nut job such as Nora, you’d certainly need a hefty dose of narcotics and alcohol to deal with her on a regular basis.

Lynette was getting a god start this week with Tom taking the kids away and her and Gabby delighting in spa treatment but when Fairview’s most weakest of me couldn’t deal with the little nightmares he helped co-create, Lynette ended up getting shafted and had to swap bliss for boredom yet again. I love Tom but damn, can the guy not have some form of backbone at all?

If I had to pick between being stuck in the Brecon Beacons with cannibals and cadavers or being stuck in a car with Nora, then oddly the former would have a better sense of appeal because as Lynette has pointed in no shy terms whatsoever, Nora has a tendency of swooping in and invading way too much.

I’d like to say that Nora’s decision to join Lynette on a car journey to the campsite for Kayla’s sake was her motivation but we all know that it wasn’t. As threatened as Lynette is by Nora, it turns out that Nora feels the same way herself about Lynette and only wanted to go on the journey just so Lynette couldn’t be a martyr and sadly, that’s not where Nora’s petty behaviour ends.

Not only does Nora annoy the hell out of Lynette in every scene during the car ride but there’s also one incident where Nora’s wacky behaviour nearly gets them killed which is another reason to hate backseat drivers all the more.

Lynette’s patience with Nora reaches breaking point during this episode where she begins to openly call her new enemy a nut job and in a moment of slight coldness mocks Nora when the latter jokes about killing herself. I can understand why Nora wouldn’t be especially pleased to have someone crack a joke during her strop but if I had been in Lynette’s position and I had to deal with that amount of insanity I think I would’ve responded in a similar manner and Nora didn’t do herself any favours by getting in a truck with a complete stranger in another attempt to manipulate Lynette.

Still Nora did have her plus points in this episode and one of them besides great comedy was her calling Lynette on how the latter treats Tom and in a very interesting scene on the way home, Lynette encourages Tom to go find his dream whatever that may be but here’s hoping for Lynette that Tom’s dreams are somewhat realistic ones.

Speaking of reality, Bree is hit with a nasty dose of it when her honeymoon is put on hold after spotting a news report on homeless teenagers in the airport with one of those teens being Andrew. The look of sadness when Orson had to bin their tickets was priceless though.

Bree’s guilt for what she feels was abandoning her son during a pivotal time is understandable but at the same time, Andrew got left on the side of the road because once again, he went too far and Bree couldn’t deal with him anymore. If anyone’s to blame for Andrew’s current situation, it’s Andrew not Bree and even Orson has a difficult time conveying that message to his new wife.

Orson’s attitude in regards to learning more about Bree is interesting because although he’s insistent on their not being any secrets in their marriage we both know that neither Bree or Orson have any intention of addressing their past baggage and we don’t know whether or not Orson’s is any better or worse than Bree’s.

Bree’s attempts of apologising to Andrew are pretty feeble, mainly because I maintain that Andrew is the one at fault and not Bree and also because I could see Andrew rejecting Bree’s attempts of making amends without even thinking about because there are times when certain character traits are just too easy to tell.

Orson on the other hand has a much better try of talking Andrew into coming home despite the fact that they’ve only met and there’s a fantastic sequence where Orson manages to get Andrew back into the now Hodge household by discussing anger issues. Orson and Andrew also have the fact that they’ve been involved in hit and run incidents as common ground anyway and the camaraderie between them is very interesting indeed. It’ll be very interesting to see how these two will interact for the rest of the season because so far, I think Andrew kind of likes Orson.

Meanwhile Susan and Ian get to know each other much better while on vacation and to throw in a further divide between them, there’s the neat little revelation that Ian is a little inexperienced when it comes to the women department and despite his protest, you get the hint that he has a complex about that as well.

The funny thing of the week in the way it’s deal with is the fact that besides Jane, Ian hasn’t really had much sexual experience so when he finds out that Susan isn’t exactly the vestal virgin (nor IMO is she a slut), his reaction is pretty immature to say the least and on this series that can go many ways.

Susan and Ian spend most of the fact bickering over their sexual experience while coming up with names and assumptions of each other that are not totally unjustified. As rushed as this relationship is, Susan and Ian do have the fact that they’re pretty immature emotionally and are impulsive as their own common ground and when they finally do kiss and make up, the time couldn’t be more off if the writers hadn’t planned it even more.

After lying in a bed and nearly having his face mutilated everytime Susan tried to shave him, Mike has finally woken up and while it’s not like a cool moment from Kill Bill when Beatrix woke, it ends the episode on a great hook and the first person to spot the discovery is Edie. Again, the writers couldn’t have planned it any better if they had tried.

Although Edie is not evil personified, her reasons for visiting Mike were more to do with getting back her CD player as opposed to seeing how the man she lusted for was doing but you can imagine what kind of thoughts are now surfacing in that devious little brain of her. I think someone is about to get shafted due to Edie’s advantage of being the first around Mike.

Then again, Edie does have her good points and one of them includes warning Julie off her leery nephew Austin. Julie is beginning to see him in a new light when he helps her during a science project and Edie’s pretty quick to point out how good girls become bad girls and Edie more or less told Susan back in Season One that she was something of an outcast, although I don’t particularly see Julie as one.

Elsewhere the only other person beside Susan to get her holiday was Gabrielle and after being ditched by Lynette, a reunion was in store for Gabby due to the return of John Rowland and while Jesse Metcalfe’s acting is still pretty dire, it seems that John has moved up several ladders in his life.

Instead of mowing gardens, he now owns his own business and instead of screwing housewives, he’s hooked himself to a vapid Jessica Simpson look alike. Not all change is good and neither are all constants as the quick and speedy way that John and Gabby get reacquainted in the bedroom.

Luckily in the increasing trend of watching Gabrielle getting shafted, she’s pretty pissed off to learn that John didn’t tell her about his fiancé Tammy and more hacked off when she’s stuffed into a bag and left in a lift as John tries to hide his indiscretion from his bride to be. The funniest part though is John refusing to allow Gabby to become the other woman after she offered to be and although hypocritical, he’s right when he told her that if you keep screwing up, you’ll end up alone. Maybe that will make Gabby realise that part of the reason why her marriage went up in smoke is down to her because I’m getting of her blaming Carlos all the time.

Also in “A Weekend In The Country”

Housewife of the week: Once again it was Bree, who was with Orson at the airport when Andrew’s new situation was made public. Gabrielle: “I’m all about relaxing, rejuvenating”

Lynette: “Could you be all about shutting up?”

Lynette (re Tom/kids): “God I hate my life”

Gabrielle: “I know. I wouldn’t trade with you for anything”.

Maybe I wasn’t paying attention but where exactly were Tom/the kids and Susan/Ian situated in the country?

Susan (re negligee): “Did you notice?”

    Ian: “Hard to miss”.

I loved the transsexual Bree was talking to. I think she was called Pearly Gates and I think the actor playing her may have played a similar role in Sex And The City once.

Gabrielle (re her imminent divorce): “Really so why are you smiling?”

John: “I don’t know why are you?”

Isn’t it a bit of a stretch that John is this quickly successful? I wouldn’t mind getting an update on Justin at some point as well.

    Nora: “You think I’m crazy?”

Lynette: “No you’re colourful, colourful in a way that might respond to medication”.

Austin: “Let me grab a flashlight”

Julie: “Maybe you could also grab a shirt and some pants. Pants would be good”.

Julie’s little project reminded me of Lisa Simpson, who in a lot of ways Julie could be modelled on.

    Ian: “Cheers, bob’s your uncle”

    Susan: “Get out”.

Ian thought Susan worked in the recording industry because she’s had 11 sexual partners whereas Susan called Ian “Mr Virgin + 1”.

Edie (to Julie): “Oh honey, that’s what all good girls say before they become bad girls. Trust me, I know”.

John: “You didn’t have any problem sleeping with me when you were married”

Gabrielle: “You knew about Carlos, my cheating was upfront and honest”.

Speaking of which, Carlos is the only regular absent from this episode.

John: “Enough of those screw ups and you’ll end up alone”

    Gabrielle: “Yeah that can happen”.

Orson (to Andrew): “I know about rage. I know how it eats you up but rage goes away and when it does, you’re just left with the mess you’ve made”.

Chronology: Seven months since “I Know Things Now”.

Well you may not want to go on holiday with these ladies but “A Weekend In The Country” offers a nice change of pace for the series and I like the fact the show is feeling more like an ensemble series once again.
  • wow so this episode got way more into the series...

ok so us U.K people are a little behind the americans as we have only just recently had this episode aired. i am finding time to write a review because it was so damn awesome! i cannot truely believe that susan would give up that easily on mike but when it ended with him waking up and edie being there i could see why it had to be done! ok so i basically know whats going to happen but i still thought this episode was a real shocker!! so everyone went away. Bree finding andrew- well it had to be done she couldnt just not mention it the rest of her life. and when they were talking to danielle they finally brought up the whole \'her boyfriend was shot right in front of her\' thing i feel like i need to know more about that!

Gabby going away and having a final farewell to john, no more mrs solis! although i still feel we havent quite seen the last of him yet i do miss the old gabby-john storyline!! it was pretty amazing that she managed to fit in that suitcase but im not suprised!

Susan and ian, well he\'s gotta be evil he\'s a brit right? bad things will happen. so she\'s pretty quick at moving on considering her \'fiance\' was in a coma - WAS

Edie there when he woke up, well you could see that coming, this is gonna add even more juicy fights between Ms Britt and Ms Mayer- always good fun!!

Poor Lynette all that time with chattering Nora i would\'ve chucked her out way earlier. though she spend basically the whole episode driving and making small talk- not the best Lynette story line ever!

So i cant wait for our stars to be back in wisteria lane for next weeks episode- looks even better than this one! x
  • it was alright.

i love this show however this episode was not as exiting as ususal.there was something missing in this episode. however, i did think the comedic parts where funny. this weekend episode idea was prety good but i do think it could have been a lot better. haha susan and her guy switched suitcases. it was so funny when they found out what each other had plans for. susans daughter has the hots for austin(isnt it funny how i learned a new characters name so quickly yet, i cant remember susans daughters name!) edie warned her off though, even though she wasnt showing any signs of liking him because she thinks of herself as a \'good girl\'. andrews back!
  • A Weekend In The Country... Good? Bad? Well, with a forgetable story line, this episode is definatley not a good installment for the 3rd Season.

While the 50th episode of any series is generally a milestone, nothing much really happens in the Desperate Housewives 50th Episode, A Weekend In The Country.

Though the episode has a lot of recurring characters, such as Nora (who ends up leaving Lynette\'s car when they are going up to see Tom, which seems familliar) and a special apperance by John Rowland, which is the high point of the episode. You see, John and Gabby hook up, but then his fiance comes to visit, leaving Gabrielle stuck in a suitcase going down an elevator and explaining to an other couple \"What? We saved a bundle on airfare.\" The episode also continues Susan and Ian\'s relationship, when they go to the mountains, which, as typical of any Susan plotline, nothing much happens with that.

All in all, A Weekend In The Country is a forgetable episode; When I watched the rerun, I forgot all about it.
  • Hell hath no fury, love hath no mercy

Susan-fantastic. so when mike and susan could actually be together, something kept them apart; but after susan patiently waits by his comatosed side desperately for 6 months, they can\'t be together but she loves him. then when she starts to move on he of course wakes up...with none other than edie britt standing there (who i\'m sure will later throw that in susan\'s face.) i\'m at a loss of what to say. what i want to know is the real reason Ian\'s wife is in a coma...i\'ll bet it wasn\'t an innocent car accident.

Bree-so we saw her daughter back finally. and now Andrew decided to come home, with the infulence of Orison of course. dangerous man...pretending to care. i feel bad for Bree though. she was not a failure as a parent, he was a little bastard. so, either he\'ll forgive her and stop his crap, or he\'ll continue to blackmail her and break her heart every way he can. or here\'s a prediction: he\'ll try to manipulate/blackmail Orison and find out he is the wrong person to mess with.

    Zack-still no word on him.

Julie and Austin-maybe there will be something there.

Gabby-pretty sad her situation. the man that helped wreck her marriage lies to her to get her in the sack one more time, then (feeling no guilt about helping destroy one marriage) proceeds to break it off with her (which is the complete opposite of what he wanted before.), and i love this...says he LOVES his fiancee....they\'re not even married yet and he\'s already cheating on her. what a crock. can\'t be a man and realize what you helped do with gabby, and not even willing to do it to himself because he wants to be selfish...or he just wants to marry rich. whatever.

Lynette-she can\'t ever just have any time to herself. tom is more useless as t*** on a bull. and she is so devoted and willing to do everything for him at his beck and call, all he has to do is whine a little bit...pathetic. Lynette and Nora should just become lesbians together and there you have it.

Edie-not sure what\'s going on with her lately, not much.

I thought this episode of Desperate Housewives was very good. The only thing somewaht alcking in this episode was the mystery aspect... though I thouroughly enjoyed the conversation between Orson and Andrew and the ending with Mike coming out of his coma. Gabby was absolutely hillarious, yet somehow tragic, in this episode - sadly coming to the realization that she is alone was sad to watch. I liked the fact that Nora and Lynette began to bond, with Nora actually helping Lynette's realtionship with Tom (but, for all you Nora-haters, she isn't listed as a guest star in next week's episode). I thought Susan storyline was funny, though I did think it was a little soon for Susan to sleep with someone else (though her romantic feelings toward Ian are realistic, in my opinion). I loved the scene with Bree planting flowers and upset over how she had abandoned Andrew. It was also nice that some storylines hadn't been forgotten (like Bree's alcoholism, Danielle's boyfriend being killed in the season two finale, and Tom's back problem). I loved the theme about baggage and why we "clutch" to it "even when we're desperate to move on." Though, Mary Alice's ending narration is always a highlight for me. I'm interested to see where Julie and Austin will go as well. One very nice thing to see was the 'softer' side of Orson in this episode; I think this episode demonstrated Orson's genuine care for Bree and her happiness. From what I've heard and seen, next week's episode looks to be even better!
  • Funny!!! All the characters I thought to be gone appeared! ie. Andrew, Danielle, and John...

Gabrielle could actually fit into a suitcase! That's a scene I'd never thought I'd witness. Why in the world was she in it in the first place? That's because John's fiance made a surprise appearance at his hotel, and they had just had sex! Though it wasn't Gabrielle's fault as she didn't know.. So she ended up in the suitcase and brought out of the room without the finace suspecting ANYTHING... Bimbo...

Just as Bree and Orson were going on their honeymoon, Bree saw on the news a piece about homeless children, and Andrew was interviewed. Feeling horrible about the situation, Bree cancelled the honeymoon, much to Orson's dismay, and went on a hunt for her son. She eventually found him but he didn't want anything to do with her... Orson saw how this was hurting his wife, and so he went to talk to Andrew, and miraculously, he suceeded in talking Andrew into moving back home.

Lynette was supposed to spend the weekend at a spa with Gabrielle, but Tom was hopeless at taking care of the kids with their camping trip, due to his back acting up after falling backwards... So, she went to rescue him, only to encounter Nora on the way out of the house. Nora wormed her way into getting Lynette to take her along so that she could pick up her daughter from there. The trip turned out to be a nightmare, which produced some mutual understanding of each other's problems. I may even be so bold to predict that the two MIGHT become friends... Though, it'd be SO much fun just watching them bicker away...

Susan went to the countryside to spend the weekend with Ian. They ended up having sex non-stop for a week.

Meanwhile, Mike wakes up from his coma. Ironically, the person who was with him at that time was Edie!
  • Bree finds out where Andrew has been and tries to get him home. Lynette is forced into a road trip with Nora! Gabrielle finds out about her paternity problem and gets tangled up with John again! Susan and Ian get closer! Mike wakes up..to Edie!

    9.7
    "Superb"
This episode was quite hilarious! In the beginning, Bree's honeymoon is interrupted by seeing Andrew on the television, homeless and telling the world about it. We find that doctors made a mistake with Xiao-Mei's pregnancy and Carlos and Gabby are back at square one. Gabby sees John Rowland again and turns to him for comfort. however, she finds John is up to some of her old tricks! Lynette is bribed into a road trip with Nora which spurns riotous results. Those two actresses work well off of each other! The anticipation for their knock-down drag out will help fuel this season! Susan decides to go off with Ian on a trip after much charm from Ian! I think this love triangle is getting more interesting! This was an episode of many favorite moments. My favs were Orson and Andrew's conversation over coffee and Edie's reaction to Mike naked! Oh and I cannot forget Mike wakes up at the very end! I love this show!
  • How will our lovely housewives spend this weekend? Hillarious ! :D

Weekend is here and everybody is escaping from their homes to quiet places and some time off.

Gabrielle went on spa vacation and she saw John after a very long time. Hiding in the suitcase was extremly funny.

Lynette went with Gaby but her husband had a problem with his back so she went to pick him up...with Nora.

This storyline is the best. Nora and Lynette fighting and Lynette finally admitting all those things she was trying to say to Nora.

Susan spend a weekend in the country with Ian and find a lot about him and we find out a lot about her. But this story line was a bit boring for me.

Bree trying to find Andrew after homeless teen report aired on TV. Encountering transsexual guy was hillarious.

Over all one of the best episodes so far !
  • Loving the plot

I'm really liking the character development thats been going on throughout the last three episodes. The Introduction to some old faces we havnt seen in a while takes us on the ride with the Desperate 5 having to adjust to their changing surroundings, and also showing what obstacles may become prevalent, ie: Susan is with Ian... But as Edie leaves Mike's hospital room he wakes up. Lynette, not only taking Nora from a different perspective, but letting Tom know any decision he makes carreer-wise she's there for his suuport. Gabrielle coming to grips with realising she put herself in her own predicament, the impending divorce. And Bree, beating herself up for letting Andrew push her 'over the edge' only for a little sparrow to have a word in his ear, and he turns up back home. All in all i like where this season is going, as the last three episodes show, much thought has actually been put into the script.

    Top of the shelf material!
  • This show has so many ways to turn yet every episode they take the right ones, such a pleasant episode with a killer ending.

    8.4
    "Great"
The episode all in all was really good, they are picking up from a few unsolved scenarios in season 2, and they still have a lot more to pick up from too. Well written and plotted. The whole Gabrielle thing was kinda sad, and they show that Bri's husband is a nice guy in fact but we all can't wait to tell what's his deal. Same old story with Lynette I guess they are making the conflict deeper and darker. The best surprise was showing Mike waking up, everyone thought he would be waking up later in the seaosn but this was prety early and now a lot of questions can be answered.
  • A great episode, season 3 is a real improvement and most of the stories are yet to unfold.

It is rare that I will enjoy everything about an episode, this is an exception. Not only were every characters stories different, but they were all interesting giving greater motion to various characters.

It was interesting to see John make an appearance in this episode. It showed just how much this character has changed and grown-up in just over a year and six months. I also thought John calling Eva's character Gabrielle instead of Mrs.Solis was a nice touch as was the suitcase :D. It's a shame they didn't get together in the end, honestly if any man was asked by Eva/Gabrielle to get together, who would say no??

Then there was Susan and Ian, on there awkward trip together was quite humourous to watch. Their constant change in mood made it more entertaining and how well they complement each other (although i hope she goes back to Mike).

As for Bree, this episode showed just how strong she could be, by not letting her previous alcohol addiction overcome her again. Her story also showed us how much Orson really cares about Bree, by going out of his way, to bring Andrew home.

And Lynette, her constant annoyance with Nora on the road trip was very funny to watch as was Gabby's comments when they were getting a massage. Lynette's character this season is a large improvement over last, as before I found her very controlling and it was starting to get annoying.

This episode was great and a good example of the quality the rest of the season should have, hopefully.
  • As each housewife prepares for a relaxing WEEKEND IN THE COUNTRY, each is either lured back to normality or to their old lives, or else insutled and lost...But with humour and landmark moment which will keep you glued to your seat!

I think this is one of, if not, THE best and most funny DH episode to date...each character had issures to sort out, and by the end of this episode it looks like (for the most part) everything has been figured out, when as we can suspect so much more has yet to come!! Not to mention the fact that the script is generously well written. And Eva Teri and Felicity ingeniously worked their characters and deliverd their respective comedic scenes perfectly!! Story-lines to be unravled....What will happen of Mike now hes awake? Is he going to remember who ran him over? Will Susan find it difficult to chose between her 2 lovers? Is Julie gonna fall hard for Edie's nephew? And Gabby...what will come of her, with no husband, & no child...? Lynette, is her marrage crumbling? Will she be able to make it work? And best of all right now, Bree! How will she cope with her family? Will Orsen show his true colors? Will Andrew change his ways? What will Danielle get up to? And is Bree capable of actually coping with her alcoholism? Episode4 Hurry Up Why Doncha!!

Bree is about to go on her honeymoon with Orsen and while looking at the television at the airport finds her son the topic about runaways surviving on their own. Her guilt eats away at her, and she insists on finding her son. Orsen still wants to go on the honeymoon, but he sees Bree bad side and has to kiss the planned honeymoon goodbye. Lynette has to interrupt her spa weekend to pick up Tom and kids who throws out his back. Lynette ends up having to ride in the car with the crazy baby momma Nora who pitches a fit and leaves the car when Lynette says something that makes her angry. I have to say as crazy as her character is, I like Nora in the cast so far. She brings a fun element to the show. Susan reveals she has had 9 no 11 sexual partners and Ian reacts in a way that makes her self conscious, but they end up having sex anyway. Wonder what will happen now that Mike is awake. Susan just does not have luck in the romance department. Poor thing. Edie tells Julie to stay away from her nephew. My favorite scene was watching Gabby climb out of a suitcase after John puts her on the elevator and leaves her on it. HA Oh yeah that was fantastic. I wonder if Andrew will find out some stuff about Orsen and end up causing strife in the home, or if he really changed his stripes? Only time will tell.

Mike wakes up from is coma. But we know Edie will put some bad information into his ear about Susan. I have to say so far I’m very pleased with how DHW is going so far. It’s a lot better then season 2 was that’s for sure.

In this episode nothing happened that I could not expect: Susan had sex and the following scene we see Mike that wakes up from the coma; Gaby met John, had sex with him and discovered that he's going to marry his new girlfriend (quite a backfire of their previous relation, I think that Gaby deserved that, a little punishment); the remaining situation of the episode were nothing remarkable, maybe Andrew returning home opens some new possibilities for the show: revenge against his mother, dealing with Orson, we'll see...

I'm quite interested in Orson, wanna see how he will behave from now on: his honeymoon was screwed up, and Andrew may interfere in his life with Bree...we saw him being friendly, he seemed like he was interested in taking back the fugitive to his mother. I bet he has some kind of plan...

Best scene of the episode surely is the one with Gaby trapped into John's bag: I laughed for what she says to the couple sharing the elevator with her after managing to open the zip of the bag :D
  • All in all, a GREAT episode.

I absolutely loved this episode. Every character had an interesting situation this week. I'm going to start with Gaby, because she was my favorite. Can you say irony? She had Carlos and John, and her choice of both. Carlos has cheated on her, as she did to him. And now John has his life together and doesn't want her. She expected him to be with her inspite of being engaged and he put her in her place. Good for her.

Lynette is beginning to understand that Nora wants a family too, and her annoying ways are the only way she knows how to fit into Lynette's family. Bree found her son, Orson got him to come back. That was good. I was wondering all this time where her daughter was. Did they even show her at the wedding??

And lastly Susan. She leaves his side and of course Mike wakes up. Hilarious.

I would like to know what's going on with Zach. We haven't seen him yet. I bet he's going to come back rich and handsome, and Susan's daughter is gonna be with that other guy (sorry I dont remmeber the lesser important characters names).
  • just as i open my mouth who returns!

Well, Bree's kids make a welcome return in their usual spoilt ways, Danielle has yet again dyed her hair and Andrew well I never expected the story line to have him sleeping on the streets but it does make sense, where else did he have to go? But looks like he is moving in back home for home comforts if the end is anything to go by.

Another familiar face was John the Gardener or landscape artist who is now engaged to get married, I think that story will evolve into something more interesting very soon, has potential if I don't say so.

and of course Mike is now awake, this should be interesting to watch!
  • can desperate housewives get any better? it gets better every week. it was very character developing because we find out more about nora and ian's past.

i was so glad that mike finally woke up! too bad edie was there when he did. i can't wait for next week's episode it looks like its gonna be a good one. every week desperate housewives gets better and better. i loved that nora and lynette started to get deeper for a moment. but, i was dissapointed that susan slpet with ian! this episode had alot of funny moments. i loved the scene where gabby sees everyone kissing and she says: "what is this? friken noah's arc?" haha! you can also tell that orson really loves bree. it was nice to see andrew come back home-which means more drama!

Susan and Ian have been very slowly, very incrementally building up their relationship for many months while he\'s been tending his wife and she\'s been tending Mike. Both of them did need a break from that hospital, but I thought the many condoms was brash and the lingerie was forward. That being said, they were in their own suitcases and they honestly might never have come out during the weekend if neither of them felt it would be appropriate. Points for being prepared.

The second Edie showed up in the hospital I knew Mike woudl be waking up, and I felt bad about that. But Mike and Edie could find happiness -- let\'s face it. Edie\'s a slutbomb but slutbombs deserve some happiness, too.

Gabi\'s suitcase stunt was the best visual ever. Eva is a tiny, tiny person. :D

    Bree ... Andrew ... Orson.

Well, of course they couldn \'t go on a honeymoon after Bree saw that. And I expected Orson to poison Andrew\'s food. And Bree controlling herself and not going for the bottle of wine in the fridge was just so hope-giving and heartbreaking at the same time.

They need to sell one more ad and buy whatsisname a damn\' shirt. Lounging around all-but-nekkid at his Aunt Edie\'s the whole time is freeqin\' weird anyway. Fun to see John again. He seems to really have turned his life around -- except for this bit where he was a terrible gardener. Meh -- he probably got better.

I am so glad Lynette and Nora were on the roadtrip. She needed to learn more about this colorful person whose colorfulness would probably respond well to medication, and she needed to see that Lynette was a real person. I don\'t see them becoming the best of friends, but it would be nice if Lynette wasn\'t always reaching for a baseball bat whenever Nora was in shot.

Nice little reveal on Tom hating advertising. I wonder what sort of jobs he\'ll apply for. :)

All in all, I liked the episode. It was a nice little bit of development and a breather with all the changes everyone\'s been going through. :)
  • Lynette & Gabrielle’s weekend away doesn’t go as planned. Susan goes away with Ian. Bree cancels her honeymoon when she sees Andrew on TV.

    "Great"
I believe that Lynette has the patience of the saint. Where can I get some? I would have kicked Nora upside the head, thrown her down the street, out of the car, etc. I would not put up with that woman, and no husband of mine would have ever asked or expected me to. The saga of Nora continues…and yet, every time I learn something about her, I wonder if it’s a load of bologna or not. Lynette made a crack about Nora committing suicide which set Nora off. Nora goes on to imply that Lynette has the perfect life while she’s had nothing, and she tried to commit suicide sometime in her past. Is it real or not? Do I care? is more likely the question. Frankly, I’d be more interested in seeing Lynette tell her husband to do what he says and say what he means, and take a more active role in their lives instead of whining all the time. I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go round.

I find Orson utterly fascinating. What is he hiding? Why did he run down Mike? Who are all these mystery women? Did he really kill his wife? Just who was that body in the morgue? in the sanitarium? What are his reasons for reaching out to Andrew? He seems just as compelled with Bree’s drama as I am with his. What does he really think about the woman he’s married now that he sees from the inside what she doesn’t show the rest of the world. He had some rather shocking revelations about Bree and her family this week. Maybe he’s beginning to think he’s not the only psychotic living on Wisteria Lane. This story has the potential to excite me about this series all over again.

I love Dougray Scott but the hooking up with Susan while their significant others are in comas just isn’t a compelling story to me. I kept wanting him to not to sleep with Susan since his wife was his one and only (how sweet was that?). Though, it was a bit funny when just as he was almost in Susan’s bed, he’s say something to muck it up. Typical Susan though.

Lots of fun stuff this week, kicking off with Gabrielle's plot. It was good to see John back and he and Gabby carrying on. I knew Eva was small but being able to fit in a suitcase? Wow, nice flexibility there. Of course, more important was her attitude, assuming John would take his vows as lightly as Gabby did hers. You can tell that after the mess with Carlos and the baby, Gabrielle wanted to hold on to one part of her life that made her happy but now that's gone.

The Lynette/Nora bits were terrific with them bickering and yelling but both starting to understand one another better. Kirsten Warren is great in the part and it led to the nice bit of Nora making Lynette understand how unhappy Tom was and let her tell him to do what he wanted. This can't possibly end well.

I liked how they played Susan and Ian, Susan annoyed at Ian's being upset about her sexual history and her great lines about it were fun. "I"m going to bed. Alone. I've always wanted to try that out." And yes, it was nice to have the developments back home with Mike waking up as Julie and Austin get a bit closer. Can't wait for Susan to come back to that.

Of course the key plot was Bree and Andrew, Bree's guilt coming to the fore and driving her on. I laughed at the bit of Danielle talking about her boyfriend being shot and Orson gets this great "What kind of family did I marry into?" look on his face. The best bit was Bree saying that work was all that was keeping her from going back to the bottle. Whatever else, Orson does seem to care for her somehow in trying to stop that by getting Andrew home. Of course, that'll just lead to more clashes between them which will be fun to see.

So what looked like filler instead becomes vital to the season and intensifies the drama to come.
  • Failed to impress me, and often left me bored. Season Three has had its moments, but it\'s been too \'safe\' with the charactors.

    8.6
    "Great"
No matter how many good things we\'ve heard about season three, it always seems to fall short in my eyes. Yes, it is still enjoyable, but alot of the new charactors lack personality. All that we know about Ian is that his wife Jane got in a coma, and up until now he was a recluse. Cherry and Co. said that this would be a great oppurtunity for some great \'dark comedy\', but I haven\'t seen any. And now that Mike\'s awoken, the supposite \'humor\' that was suppose to spark from both charactors respective partners in comas. Orson and Andrews interaction was possibly the only thing that made this episode rememberal. I thought that Bree\'s storyline this time around wasn\'t well planned at all. So she sees Andrew on the news and decided to ditch everything and run after him in less then 5 minutes? Not one of their better ideas. Gabrielle was enjoyable this time around. Aside from the pickle incident in episode 301, she hasn\'t really had much comedy, but the suitcase thing was histarical, even though I\'ve seen it before. Lynette\'s story was the most unenjoyable. Even though I love Felicity Huffman, her infinite talents weren\'t enough to make this drab event enjoyable at all. Normally, I don\'t think Nora is a bad charactor, but her \'boy troubles\' have gotten really tiresome, and it makes her look like a trashy mom, who is not funny. I enjoyed Nora in episode 301, but as of lately she\'s been getting on my nerves. All in all, this episode was pretty boring, I hope that the next two will be somewhat exciting, or I might fane interest. And as for the people that come and \'dissagree\' with everyone who doesn\'t give every episode a 10, do you even read the reviews?
  • This was a good one. It answered may of the questions I have had.

    9.6
    "Superb"
I was wondering when Andrew was going to come back. We really have not heard anything about him since Bree abandoned him. It was about time for him to show up, now that his mom is married again. I think that this time he is going to find out the truth about Orson and expose him to his mother. The only question is, will she believe him?

Susan spending the weekend with that guy was wrong. Mike has not been in that comma for that long. How is she going to feel now that he is awake? Oh, and Edie taking a peek at Mike was hilarious. It is obvious that Danielle Van De Kamp is going to get it a lot of trouble with Edie’s nephew, but only time will tell what that trouble will be. I have been waiting for Gabrielle and John were going to hook up again, but him being engaged was a complete shock. It was stupid of him to sleep with her, knowing that he was engaged; but good for him, stopping it before he hurt his fiancé.
  • It had it moments, but then not as many as I was looking for

The show Desparate housewives is one I make a point to watch. It is consistantly better than many shows out there and that is why I continue to watch and why it continues to have great ratings. But it still struggles to better itself from the first season. This episode did have good moments, but just never as many as I look for. I feel they need better interaction with the main characters. It is less about the neighborhood and more about individuals. Thats still interesting, but not as good as before. I hope the writers and producers are working on some better things.
  • I thought this season was supossed to be as good as season 1

I was not too impressed with this episode, nothing really happened until the last minute when Mike woke up. I was happy however to see John back(HE\'S SOOOOO HOT) I don\'t know how much more of Susan and Ian I can take. They are super cheesey together. And I;m sorry if a man basically called me easy and said I spent too mich time on my back I don\'t think I would sleep with him that same night, no matter how cute his accent was.

.....MIKE WAKES UP!!!!! unfortunately he does right after Susan sleeps with that other guy. He wakes up with Edie there with him instead. This episode was SO very close to getting a 10, but I'm mad at Susan for doing what she did, so that dropped the score. Sometimes she is just too desperate! So, John is back in the picture for Gabby! Thats exciting! I love his character! Bree is about to go on her honeymooon when she sees Andrew on TV being interviewed about living on the streets. Finally in the end, he comes home.

Lynette's part in this episode was good. I just hate how she gives so easily into Nora... My favorite quote

Gabby: My cheating was upfront and Honest!!!!!
