Episode Recap

Bob and Lee have a new water fountain/sculpture moved into their front yard, and the women of Wisteria Lane gather round to watch the freak fountain. The sculpture is hedious, and they talk to Bob and Lee to try to get them to get rid of it. The gay couple refuses to let go of the sculpture, and Katherine decides to run for the presidency of the homeowners association of Wisteria Lane, a position formerly occupied by Mary Alice Young. Katherine decides to straighten things up around the neighborhood, to construct a sort of symetric street that undergoes the rules of the neighborhood association.
Meanwhile, Lynette's kids hide from the cancer-related world their house has turned into in their tree house. Bob and Lee try to get Lynette on their side, but she is against the water fountain, who wakes everyone up in the morning, as well. Bob and Lee tell her that Katherine is probably not gonna spare the kids' tree house. Lynette asks Katherine if she's gonna come after the tree house, and Katherine doesn't promise she'll leave it alone. For her children's sakes, Lynette runs for president of the homeowners' association against Katherine. Both of them try to get the residents of Wisteria Lane to vote for them. During the election, there are ties between the two of them, but that is because Susan voted for both. But Edie reveals this, and she is forced to vote for one. She chooses Katherine because she wants to get rid of the fountain, which is always waking up her husband early in the morning. Katherine is elected president. Later, Lynette and Susan talk things over. Susan apologizes to Lynette for voting for Katherine, saying that she had to choose what was best for her husband, but anyway, Susan promises she will stand in the way if Katherine comes for the kids' tree house. Katherine asks Adam why he hasn't congratulated her yet, and Adam reminds her that she had not made friends since they moved in, and tells her that friends can come in handy. Katherine tells Lynette that she is going to spare the tree house. Lynette tells her she doesn't understand why she is sometimes so bitter and sometimes so nice, adding that Katherine is a very complicated life. Katherine smiles and says she has had a very complicated life.
Later, Katherine comes up to Bob and Lee saying that the residents have voted, and they need to get rid of the water fountain. But she soon learns that the gay couple knows what happened with her husband back in Chicago, and blackmail her into not forcing them to get rid of the sculpture. Katherine backs off.

Gabrielle thinks that Victor has someone spying on her, and as she wants to meet with Carlos at the hotel, she disguises herself as one of the kids who mown her lawn, and heads there without the private investigator noticing. At the hotel, as she is headed to meet with Carlos, she runs into John Rowland and his wife Tammy. Tammy is pregnant, and is always putting John down. While Gabrielle and Carlos are in their room, John knocks on their door, not knowing Carlos is there. Gabrielle asks Carlos to hide in the closet, but he refuses to. She then tells him that John's father-in-law goes hunting with Victor. Carlos does so, and Gabrielle opens the door. John tells her he wants to start another affair with her, reminiscing then about the good times they used to have together, and about the time she faked an orgasm with Carlos after she had just had with John, who was hiding in the closet meanwhile. Carlos is very upset by this. Gabrielle doesn't want to start an affair with John again, and tells him to leave. Carlos gets out of the closet, furious. Gabrielle tells Carlos that he is the man in the closet now. Carlos later meets with John, and finally tells him that he forgives him. John asks if Gabrielle is happy, and Carlos replies that he thinks she is.
Carlos decides to stop the affair with Gabrielle, that he wants to do things right by breaking up with their respective partners before getting back together. Gabrielle agrees, and the two share a final kiss before the separation. Unfortunately, this kiss is caught by the private investigator. We learn that he is acutally working for Edie, not Victor.
