  • The 7th Season Ends With Susan's Return To The Lane. While Celebrating Her Return, Gaby's Stepfather Shows Up On Wisteria Lane.

What a season finale! This season was so much better than the boring 6th season. The episode's opening scene was shocking and it had great suspense which kept me wanting more and more. The episode is very entertaining and it has many funny moments. The best part of this episode is of course Susan's return. She has been missed. Gaby's storyline with her stepfather has been awesome and this was a superb final face-off between them. Eva Longoria was excellent in this episode. The last 10 minutes were breath taking and scary. The 7th season ends with a crazy cliffhanger which will be the final storyline of the series.
  • An awesome eseason finale!

This was a terrific way to end this season of Desperate Housewives. I really enjoyed the whole concept of this 'progressive dinner', especially the comment from Karen that "it's not fun, but it's free!".

Great to see Susan moving back onto the lane, but I am honestly bored of Lynette's and Tom's daram. It has not been interesting at all this season, and I can only hope they come up with something better next year.

As for Bree, today was a little better. I enjoyed the scene at the ex's boutique, particularly Bree's very different outfit! That was quite hilarious!

By far the best storyline of the day was Gabrielle's! Teh scene in the woods was epic, and the end of the episode, which I shna't spoil, was brilliant too! All up, this was a brilliant season finale and a great cliffhanger! Let's hope next season is just as great! :)
  • What a cliffhanger........

Well this episode achieved what any season finale should do... leave me wanting more and this episode well and truly did the ending twist was so juicy and excited i can hardly wait for season 8, however other then that this finale didnt leave us with much to expect from season 8, i think tom and lynette breaking up was a pretty good think there relaionship had grown somwhat stale over the years so this should give lynette a chance to find some new fresh storylines next year, gaby will obvo have dark days ahead with carlous killing her stepfather, im also excited for brees storylines i am enjoying her relationship with chuck, he is a much better suit for her then keith ever was and the two actors actually have really good chemistry with one another which is really good, this epsiode didnt really set anything up for susan other then the face that she has returned to the lane so i am excited to see what the writers have in store for her next year, renee didnt have anything exciting to do in this episode she provived abit of comic releif and that is about it, vanessa williams has been wasted on this show so i hope the writers have some good stuff for renee next year,

overall though this was a pretty decent finale with some great twists and i certianily can not wait to see what happens next

Come on Over for Dinner (2) was a perfect and very entertaining episode of Desperate Housewives. I really enjoyed watching this episode because it had all the elements that make this show fun to watch. There was drama, intrigue, suspense, surprise, humor, and secrets. Tom and Lynette keep it classy and come to a major decision as Renee learns her ex is remarrying. Gaby's stalker stepfather reappears and causes a lot of fear, while Carlos takes protective action. It was interesting how every thing played out and who was in on the truth. The things that these housewives have been through is crazy!!!!!!!
  • Excellent Episode (part two)

everyone is on top form in this episode its hard to mention everybody in my review:

I am so pleased Vanessa Williams is part of the cast. She is catty, funny and caring. I hope she will stick around for some time.

The fact that Tom and Lynette have separated is devestation. they have been through so much. the acting between Doug and Felcity was great, especially the moment when Lynette said "oh the kids"

Bree and Chuck are finally having their oates. This too was hilarious - Bree burning a roast? no way! But now she has to hide a secret from him...

Susan is back on the lane and Susans' Dinner speech was well said by Teri Hatcher. good to see her back!

But, once again this year, Eva and Ricardo steal the spotlight. Tony Plana is creepy as Gabby's evil stepfather - the scene where she confronts him was well acted by Eva Longoria and the scene where she is confronted at her house was powerful and shocking. Now Alejandro has been murdered, I feel Season Eight will be very, very interesting.....
  • Predictable, Unoriginal, Personal...

This is not the best DH episode, not the best finale. We've seen it all from other shows. We saw what was to come. The usual subtle and enjoyable mysteries of Westeria Lane have been gone for a long time. But if you(like I) have been watching this since the pilot. And was one of those millions who fell in love with it's originality that very instant, you will know how personal the episode was. Specially with Lynette's and Gabrielle's story. The episodes had it moments, one was with, Lynette and Tom, we all expected it to happen but hope it won't have to be. But it is as it is. Her fears were our fears. Gabby has had her moments as well. You feel for her when she confronted Alejandro. Although it wasn't the same as when Carlos realized that Gabby's mom blamed her for what had happened. The anguish in Gabby's eyes and the concern in Carlos' was not the same as it was four years ago. It's not exactly a satisfying ending, but it just is personal. (and I keep on babbling, I didn't love it but I just can't put my finger as to why I don't hate it)
  • Very unsual, very enjoyable.

I liked the fact that they included so many regulars in that progressive dinner. Nice to see McCluskey and Roy after some missing episodes. And Renee was here after an absence in episode 22 which I did not even notice watching it LOL.

Bree: She convinced Renee to go with her to the Chuck's soon to be ex's clothes shop to buy many expensive thing and make her happy. Funny scene, but very forgettable. It was nice to see Anita Barone and to see Bree & Chuck having sex for the first time dropping their ethics. Gaby: Eva Longoria was amazing in all of her scenes. She literally stole the show. Lynette: She and Tom finally got away from each other. It was powerful to see that. And their acting was flawless, F. Huffman rocked. Susan: She did not have a storyline in this episode, but it was nice to see her and her family back on the street and her speech at the dinner was touching.

Renee: I know that she did not have a stable storyline this season, but I enjoy her scenes. She fits in perfectly. And her scenes with Edgar were funny as hell. All in all, this was the best season finale in like 3 years. Keep it up, ladies!
  • A good, but somewhat predictable finale.

Lynette and Tom: Quite an engrossing story lines that sees their marriage come to some kind of conclusion. Not that this will last, but it was intense and Lynette's speech about being relieved was well done. Tom has been one of those characters who you can like and dislike from episode to episode...lately I've not been a fan. Definitely interested to see what happens to them, and their family.

Susan and Mike: Not overly big here, but I'm glad they're back on the lane. Nice and satisfying end for them this season.

Bree: I like her new love interest, but the storyline with his ex-wife didn't feel very finale like. It was quite funny though, especially when she overcooked the chicken.

Renee: Her wacky and quick relationship with that bartender was funny, but I do struggle to care for her sometimes. She's no Edie, I'm afraid.

Gabby and Carlos: Perhaps the biggest storyline of the episode. Now the confrontation between Gabby and her step-father was intense, but I think it's all a bit rushed. Couldn't Gabby have seen him earlier in the season? Anyway, he's dead...Carlos killed him. And all the housewives (bar Renee) know, and help cover it up. I quite like what this meant, that they'd stick together - but it was kind of predictable in my eyes.

I'll be interested to see what they do with this, will someone find out? So a good finale, not the best we've had at all. Bring on season 8!

The final hour of Desperate Housewives this year and what an episode it was.

    - If this is really the end of Tom and Lynette it is disappointing. This has been one of television's best couples for years and the show will not be the same without Lynette's witty one liners demeaning her occasionally goofy husband.

    - The Rene and bartender stuff was okay comedy, but this show does not need Vanessa Williams.

    - Covering up another death? I guess it could be good fun if someone figures this out next season, but I fear they are going to just bury this whole thing (pun intended.)

Not the most eventful finale ever, but a fun episode overall. Some comedy, a lot of drama, the show has certainly matured over the years, even if there has been a significant drop in quality.
  • The show moves into familiar territory just to stay alive.

Tom and Lynette were the one married couple left on television that would never separate. No matter what crazy stunt Tom pulled or what stupid scheme Lynette did, these two were each others rock to build on. Back in season 4 when Tom's life was in jeopardy I would not have it. These two would stick forever. Yet, here we are, several years later and they are done with each other. It's a painful conclusion to an impressive story. Because even though it kills me, there's a lot to be said about being able to write such a strong and loving couple apart. Their separation began several episodes ago and slowly transformed into something understandable, humane and relatable. Especially in this day and age it's no surprise that a couple throws in the towel when the feeling is gone. And for the happiness of the couple, I can't blame them. Unfortunately, I can't wait around for them to get back together.

The mystery that unfolded, setting things up for next season, was a disappointment. Granted, it was skillfully executed by having Carlos kill this horrible man, saving Gaby but being thrown in such a corner that there was no escaping jail time. Bree being the one that bails them out was a powerful move, paying off the ongoing story between these two. You got to love diner parties, with their murders and comedic reliefs. But this party feels like the best is already behind us.
  • nothing we haven't seen before.

bad guy(s) threatens our wives happiness?

bad guy dies at the end!

How many bad guys this show has exterminated so far?

I Officially call it the "Dexter" of all shows!

I still watch it because of the good acting and the comedy moments but the ideology behind this show it gets dangerous at the end..

Whatever threads our happiness must end up dead one way or another? Gee!

I would love it to be more daring, I hope Tom and Lynette separate for good. And someone goes to prison for the murder of the rapist stepfather (man this story was so rushed and the cover up ridiculous to say the least).

Lets see how all this will be handled in next season.
  • THE BEST FINALE AFTER SEASON ONE!!!! :D

Basically I'm going to be quick with this review because I am so overwhelmed right now...I can barely type.

The ending of the episode was soo shocking, I can't believe they all decided to cover up the murder with Gabby and Carlos (guess they are no different from Paul and Mary Alice)....this is big, really BIG and I can expect that season 8 is going to be very explosive, and if it is indeed the final season, then this definitely set the tone for it.

I love how they use Renee as comic relief in this final episodes; it was hilarious looool

They ended Paul and Felicia's story in a very good way; they killed felicia and sent Paul to do his time, for the murder he actually committed!

    Roll on Season 8 :))))
  • Desperate Housewives goes all Pretty Little Liars on us & I love it....SPOILERS!!

Such a Season 1 Type of Episode and that makes this great.

I may have to re-watch Season 1 because this episode has brought back a lot of the darkness(and not the lame darkness of the past few seasons) we fell in love with Originally.

    Susan:

Not much of a storyline this episode. She returns to the lane to her home and the gals throw her a dinner party where you go from house to house(Never heard of it, seems fun)

Bree: Yet another pointless and stupid storyline for Bree. She decides to "sweeten up" Chuck's ex by going to her boutique(With Renee') of all People and the comedy in this plot was just weak...

The clothes jokes were weak and it was just a weak plot. But at least she and chuck had sex finally

AND this is where Bree's comedy works best at.

Bree is such a perfectionist about her home making skills so it's GREAT to see when she messes up. I.E. having sex with chuck and forgets the chicken is cooking and it's burned.

    Lynette & Tom:

Will they or Won't they? Again, it was hard to care about this plot. I expected more from it but in all honesty it felt a little weak to me still...

They break up in the episode and are taking some time apart...Of course they are NOT going to get divorced. They will be back together sometime in Season 8, i bet. But for now they are separated. Gabrielle(and the other girls)

Gabrielle had the best plot and scenes of this episode and I believe her plot ROCKED last episode as well.

Alejandro returns and of course like a true rapist he says Gabrielle basically wanted it and asked for it.

Carlos saves Gabby from whatever he was going to do by hitting him across the head...Killing him.

Now, the other 3 ladies come in shortly and see the body and after a few moments...They decide to cover the murder up and hide the body.

A definite nod to the Mary Alice Plot from Season 1 :)

Such a great episode and I was so entertained by these lovely women and their characters.

    I can't WAIT for season 8!!
