I mean come on!!! It used to be a so, so great series. In the first 2 years of DH, I just could not wait the next episode to come, and I wanted to sue ABC for airing a next episode 4 weeks later. But now... eh... This particular episode was I think a really deep point. Absolutely nothing happened, and the dialogs were soooo perdictable. And that is not a thing that DH had before. I am very disapointed in Marc Cherry, I hope he will do better than this cause otherwise this series will fall out, like it has never gotten a Golden Globe.moreless

Another fantastic episode of DH because its soooo funny! All the characters have moments of pleasure.
Susan and Katherine's war goes further. Susan and her painting is funny and the other ladies thinking Susan and Katherine will kill each other is even funnier. Teri and Dana really shone in this one.
Orson's stealing is out of control and Bree has only just realised. Orson is so funny and Bree is losing it! Bruce, the publisher, was great at the dinner, especially with Tom and Lynette vying for the job interview. On the plus side, we saw Tom and Lynette's marriage is improving and they are stronger than before. The Gabby/Carlos plot takes another twist when Carlos' boss is killed at the end!
Oh and Edie is snooping - she'd better be careful.
Overall great stuff. Season Five is brilliant.moreless
  • Does anybody know what kind/ brand of the tape recorder used by "Bruce"(the publisher) during the dinner?

  • Crime definitely does not pay for some people

    9.5
    "Superb"
Orson's stealing - small items taken from people as a punishment for perceived slights toward him is damaging his marriage and is sure to bring him more pain (he certainly seems without a moral compass lately by the way!). You also can see that the reverberations of O's earlier crime involving Mike are still everywhere he goes. (seeing him steal makes it easier for me now to see him as an attempted murderer and less the easyt going charming urbane fellow I thought him to be). What other crimes were there? Gabrielle and Carlos's crime: covering up for Carlos's sleazy boss: definitely a bad end there. Speaking of that, the related murder is not going to pay too well for the woman that did that. Dave's lies are going to blow up in his face soon as Edie probes his hidden past... And Tom and Lynette's bad behaviour at Bree's dinner lost them a good job opportunity. Susan going into katherine's garage and exposing her lie about the painting actually earned susan no respect from her friends and a good tounge lashing from katherine. Katherine in turn certainly suffered for her little lie about breaking the picture while dusting. - Any others?moreless

    • In the scene where Bree told Orson to put away his coat, she picked up the newspaper, folded it and tuck beneath her left arm. In the next shot showing Orson, Bree is seen folding and tucking the newspaper again.

  • QUOTES (10)

    ADD QUOTES
    • (Susan opens her door to see Katherine holding some rather shabby flowers) Katherine: Mike is across the road watching to me to see if I apologize. I don't see why since it was you who ruined my housewarming party. (pause) Ok that should be enough time. Kiss my ass and goodnight.

    • Edie: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What's happening here? Why isn't hair being pulled? Susan: Why would we do that? Edie: Well, let's see, she's shacking up with your ex? Something which when I do it I get an angry mob on my front lawn. Gabrielle: I mean, let's be honest, Susan. You weren't exactly over the moon when you heard they were gonna live together. Susan: Well, yes, I was upset at first. But you know, Mike was gonna be with someone eventually and I consider myself lucky that it was someone who after all is said and done has always been my true friend. Katherine: Susan, that's very sweet. Bree: And admirable. Edie: And abnormal! (she pauses) Hey Gaby, remember when I was with Carlos? Gabrielle: Shut it bitch. Edie: (to Susan) See? That's normal.

    • Mary Alice: (closing voiceover) You should never be too impressed by people with good manners. They're the ones who will give a friendly wave even when they've stolen from you. They're the type to sweetly welcome you even as they try to uncover your secrets. They're the kind to offer you coffee even as they report you to the police. And don't be too offended by someone who's openly rude. Because they may be that way for the nicest of reasons.

    • Tom: (to Lynette) You just messed with the bull, sister, prepare to get the horn. (He leaves, followed by Lynette.) Bree: (to Orson) Maybe we should slice the tart in here. I don't want to bring a large knife into this.

    • Bree: Thank you so much for joining us tonight. May I take your coat? Bruce: Sure. Oh, wait, let me get my brain out of there. (He gets a tape recorder out of the pocket.) I never go anywhere without this. That way when I get a bright idea, wham! Right into the tape recorder. Orson: Oh. Sounds like quite a handy gizmo. Bruce: Thank you Orville. Bree: It's Orson. Bruce: Orville, Orson, either way he came home from the playground covered in bruises. Am I right? (He speaks into the tape recorder.) Idea for children's book. Kid gets the crap kicked out of him 'cause he has a goofy name. Could be Orson.

    • Mrs. McCluskey: Hey Kathy. What happened to Susan's painting? Katherine: I am such a klutz. I was dusting yesterday and well, it just fell. The glass shattered and I took it to the framer. It'll be back in a jiffy. Oh, excuse me. (She leaves.) Bree: See, a perfectly innocent ... bald faced lie.

    • Susan: Katherine and I told you guys we were taking the high road. Why won't you believe us? Lynette: Because I vividly remember yesterday and I wasn't born during it.

    • Orson: Hey Mike, I'm looking forward to one of your world famous cocktails. Mike: So was Mrs. McCluskey. She got here early. But don't panic. I sent Edie out for more booze. Orson: Ah. So you sent the mouse to buy the cheese. Well done.

    • Mary Alice: (voiceover) The day after Mike Delfino moved in with Katherine Mayfair, she thought it would be nice to share her happiness. So she decided to throw a housewarming party for her friends and neighbors. But from the moment her first invitation was delivered, her friends began making assumptions. About those who had been invited and about those who hadn't.

    • Mary Alice: (voiceover) Everyone that met Orson Hodge knew he believed in being polite. He greeted his neighbors each day with a sunny ... Orson: Good morning. Mary Alice: (voiceover) He opened doors for young women with a gallant ... Orson: Allow me. Mary Alice: (voiceover) If he bumped into a stranger on the street, he'd cheerfully say ... Orson: I beg your pardon. Mary Alice: (voiceover) And if one of his friends was having a hard time, Orson was the first to say ... Orson: You need some help there? Mary Alice: (voiceover) Whether his friend wanted his help or not. Yes, everyone who met Orson Hodge knew he believed in being polite. What they didn't know is, that he also believed in punishing those who weren't.
