Desperate Housewives

Orson visits Tom at the pizzeria's going out of business sale to offer him moral support. When Tom turns his back for a few seconds, Orson steals a salt shaker that belonged to Tom's grandfather, after hearing that Tom will not sell it.

Katherine decides to have a housewarming party after Mike moves in with her. Everyone thinks that Susan is not invited and are shocked when they find out that she is going to be there. Susan says that she was mad at first about Mike being with someone else and moving in with someone, but she is happy that it was with someone that she considers a friend.

Gabrielle is speechless when Carlos' boss, Brad, uses her for his defense after his wife, Maria, sees him with Sheila, his mistress. He tries to bribe her with $30,000, but instead Gabrielle wants Carlos to have a week off the following month. Brad agrees to this.

Bree finds the salt shaker that Orson stole and knows that it is not his because it says "Scavo" on it. He says that he must have taken the salt shaker on accident.



Meanwhile, Susan lets Katherine borrow her punch bowl and she tells Katherine that the painting that is on the mantle piece, is one that she painted of the beach that she and Mike went to for their honeymoon.



At the party, Susan tells everyone that Katherine loves her painting but when she goes to show it off, it has been replaced with a picture of Katherine and Mike. Katherine tells everyone that she had to replace it because she accidentally dropped it and shattered the glass. Susan goes to the garage to investigate and finds the painting in perfect condition. Susan shows Mike the painting and he asks Katherine about it, very loudly so that everyone can hear them argue.



Lynette gives Bree a check for $20,000 in order to repay her for the loan she gave her. Bree asks about Tom and tells her that her publisher is looking for someone to do in-house advertising. She ends up inviting Bruce, her publisher, and Lynette and Tom over for dinner.



As Edie and Dave are getting more alcohol for Katherine's housewarming party, a priest spots Dave and tells him that he did not know that he moved back into the neighborhood. Dave tells Edie to go grab something while he tells the priest very discreetly to leave him alone. Edie thinks something is up, but Dave insists that he barely knows him.



Brad asks Gabrielle to take Maria out shopping so that he can have another romantic tryst with his mistress. Meanwhile, Carlos is sick of the cover-up. Gabrielle tells him that he might lose his job and the bonus if he says anything. Gabrielle makes it so that Sheila is the one who ends up spilling the beans. She pretends she is a client and tells Sheila to stop seeing Brad. She hears that Maria is pregnant and this whole time, Maria had thought that Brad was not having sex with his wife for the past year.



Tom gets mad when he finds out that the dinner is to try to set him up with Bree's publisher. He is adamant that he find a job on his own. Lynette tells him to just try it out and he finally agrees. During dinner, Orson and Tom both dislike Bruce, the publisher.

Bruce sees how excited Lynette is about the job and he tells her that it is too bad that she does not have advertising experience. She tells him that she actually has twelve years worth of ad experience and starts saying great things about herself and her experience. Tom gets mad and tells Lynette that she is trying to steal the job. They both try to pitch themselves and start saying bad things about each other, which turns Bruce off, making him not want to hire either of them.



Bree sees Orson later pocket Bruce's tape recorder. She takes the tape recorder and gives it back to Bruce. She tells Orson that he better not steal again. When she leaves the room, however, he takes one of the earrings she has just put down.



Lynette and Tim look back on their dinner and start laughing. He asks her if she really truly wants to go back to work. She says that she does.



Mike makes Katherine apologize to Susan but Katherine places the blame on Susan and says that she ruined the party. Katherine begins to cry and starts saying how it is hard for her to live across the street from Susan. She says that she was not going to have a clean slate with Mike so she might as well have a clean mantle piece. Susan tells Mike that she wants the painting back and Katherine thinks by all means she should have it back.

Edie finds the priest who they ran into and she asks him about Dave's past. He says that he cannot help aid her, but he refers to her as Mrs. Dash.



Brad gets mad at Gabrielle because she talked to Sheila. Gabrielle says that she will no longer cover for him. He announces that Carlos is fired.



Carlos tells Gabrielle that she did the right thing. Just then, the phone rings and it is Maria who desperately needs their help. They get there as fast as possible and discover Brad, dead on the floor, with a knife in his back.
