When Bree begins to fall for Karl, she decides it is time to break things up before they get way too serious. However, Karl isn't willing to let her go that easily, and makes her a proposition. In the meantime, Juanita says a bad word during a school play and Gabrielle is attacked by the school's principal (guest star Marianne Muellerleile), which leads her to respond and ultimately get her daughter out of the school, whereas Lynette learns her husband is cheating during mid-term. Katherine pretends to be on Susan's side to get to Mike, and Angie hides some secrets regarding her mother.moreless

    Another rather funny laugh out loud episode with lots more comedy this time than previous episodes and its all thanks to Dana Delany / Katherine Mayfair

    But first there is comedy to find elsewhere, especially with the Swearing Solis Family (coming soon as an action figure). Gabrielle was right to defend her snotty daughter but homeschooling? I'm not sure she is up to the challenge. And Carlos saying he had a "Blank Earlier" was hilarious

    Bree and Karl grow closer and Orson grows more suspicious. And Susan might connect the dots soon

    The only drama was with Tom and Lynette. It appears their marriage is on the rocks and I feel this could be it for the most famous couple on the street...

    But its really Dana Delany who rules this episode. Her madness reigns supreme and her scheme to seduce Mike was very well done (the fight in the bathtub was the biggest highlight). Let her continue to entertain me during this excellent Season Six.moreless

    Another week, another round of cringeworthy storytelling from the Desperate Housewives writing staff. After having endured ridiculous propositions, contrived shootings and really, really irritating bouts of delusionment from the walking caricature that now is Katherine Mayfair, this time around, we're forced to embrace deceptive sweetness, faux friendliness and a mindbogglingly ridiculous run in with a bathtub. Oh come on, calling Mike to get him to 'fix your pipes' late at night, when he's blatantly at home with Susan? Why wouldn't you think she'd get a little suspicious and want to pay you a visit? The subsequent mad dash to extinguish all of the candles and remove the rose petals is so hopelessly devoid of any comedic value that it makes the eyes roll... honestly, can we have the gal that obsessed over Dylan's safety back now, please? She was a heck of a lot more interesting than this one dimensional waste of space.

    The remaining storylines, thankfully, continue the upward trend that began last week... or they do for the most part, at any rate. It's good to see the writers doing something a little different with Gabrielle; the inclusion of the children into the mix in season five really helped to enliven things, and once again, they prove to be the source of something actually quite interesting here. Forcing the former model to home school her child could be something that adds whole new dimensions to her character, and it's certainly refreshing to see that Jaunita doesn't automatically forgive her mother at episode's end, just because the denouement's rolling round. Tom's story is complete fluff but it certainly raises a few smirks, and it seems that Bree has at least learned something from her encounter with Miss Jeanette last week, forcing Karl to back off a little and see whether they can date, rather than simply f**k. It's a shame that the brooch trope is so utterly ridiculous though; please, I don't buy for one second that Karl would just conveniently 'forget' that he ever gave the thing to Susan. Honestly, these problems are so easy to straighten out... a little TLC guys, that's all it really takes.moreless

    This series started with a bit of a whimper. Still AWOL is a mystery on par with with series 1, but at least now things are spicing up.

    Of course the best storyline so far is Katherines fall into insanity which is getting more sad & distubing every week. This week however took that to new hieghts with her relationship with the new neighbour and how now she is setting Katherine up as Julies attempted killer.

    Bree's storyline is a going ok, but itsd not as good as it could be, still it provided this weeks comic relief well...Fun also was how close Susan came to learning of her affair with Karl, but of course Orsons realisation was even more delicious!

    Lynette and Tom trails are much the same. Good laughs, a bit better than I cynically anticipated, but yet lacking enough clout. They are my favorite couple in the show, but it's all becoming a touch predictable now, and as I say in many reviews, pregnancy stories just bore me.

    Gabby's is setting a trend this series as having the strongest and more refreshing storylines. Her on going trials as a mother felt fun and relevant. Wonetta (or however you spell it) was a great find her an gaaby rapport is great. I'm very close to saying its the one of best mother/daughter dynamics of any show I've watched: Its very genuine and relatable.

    I hope we plenty of speed this series. I dont want to see any of the current storylines to last the whole season because whilst I'll give em all a thumbs up, they simply are not good enough. My anticipation for watching the next episode is considerably lower this year. I feel as if the show is stuck in its tried and tested format, and I wish Mark Cherry would be brave enough to shake things up a bit. By that I mean by experimenting with the format, like doing something different with time: Rather than the event follow by X days/hours earlier or. Doing one storyline rather than several. Just something different. It's time to shake things up, and not just with a tornado, shock death, preganacy affair or deep dark secret. But by all means shower us in flashbacks! It'd be nice to see Martha Huber again, in some considerable manner!moreless

    I think this is the first time DH has produced a full blown comedy. Usually there is a mix of comedy and drama pieced together in a way that moves the season mystery forward. This installment didn't feel much like that, but still it was hilarious and entertaining.

    Season 6 hasn't developed yet. Looking across all the mystery-responsible people right from season 1 - Paul Young, Betty Applewhite, Orson Hodge, Katherine Mayfair, and Dave Williams. I guess by episode 5, the purpose of their existence on Wisteria Lane was made clear. I am still not sure what the Bolen's are upto, and its high time Cherry &team start to focus on their story rather than writing about Lynette hiding her pregnancy, Katherine trying to seduce Mike, and Bree fooling around with Carl. But yes, the last 5 minutes of this episode tried to steer the story somewhere. Orson starts to spy on Bree and Angie tries to mess up Susan's mind by hinting Katherine might have attacked Julie.

    Good episode, and Eva L-P is on fire...moreless

    Housewives has been a blast the season so far, and this episode is another solid entry.

    DH started out as promising as ever, with a fantastic scene at Juanita's school play. With most of the kids all grown up on this show, it's nice to see some traditional 'young parent' storylines, especially with Gabrielle, who was classic in her confrontation with the stern principal. "What is this- Shawshank Elementary?" It seems Gaby (and to an extent, Carlos) haven't been model parents when it comes to dirty language, and after this is brought into question, Gaby in a rage, pulls her daughter from the school. Eva Longoria-Parker was fantastic in every single scene, from the "blank" bit, to the mere suggestion of home-schooling. The development of Juanita not thinking she is a very good mother is pretty heavy duty, and I'm glad we're getting back to this (Gaby adjusting to parenthood) and not the 'raising a teenage girl' stuff, which we've seen plenty of throughout the DH series already.

    Bree receives a broach from Karl, but the gift is traced back to his time with Susan, and Sue recognizes it immediately. Bree is put in an awkward situation, and both she and Karl dance around the fact. This plot seemed like an inevitable 'hurdle' for their relationship; the obligatory ex-wife present. But I still liked the writing here, I bought Karl's flimsy absent-mindedness, and I enjoyed Bree's work, as she carries her conflicted guilt from last week through this entire episode. The proposal seemed like throwing a bit too much at this at once, but the storyline does need to get rolling, so I appreciate putting a sort of "ticking clock" on it now.

    Felicity Huffman couldn't have had any fun this week, as Lynette plays the whiny/b!tchy wife yet again, with nothing to do but nag Tom- about cheating in school. I get the message, and like Karl, Tom gets a great scene to try and reason/validate his actions. This was still my least favorite plot tonight, and here we can see the struggle the writers continue to have in giving both the Scavos something worthwhile to do (without it being over the top like a fire or cancer). The flipside of Felicity Huffman has to be Dana Delany, who I imagine couldn't be having more fun as Katherine, who continues to dance around the left side of crazy! Because of the shooting, Kat is playing the blackmail card; she's got Susan in her pocket, and I was eager to see her manipulate Sue and try to move in on Mike for at least an episode or 2 more. But she plays her full hand a little early, in a narrow win for LOL of the Night (Gaby's 'pick up the book' scene was pretty close)! Calling Mike over for a 'plumbing' job in the middle of the night, she's got her bedroom littered in rose pedals, and even a bubble bath is drawn! Susan caught wise to Katherine's scheme, and their confrontation ends right in the tub! I dare say this Katherine/Susan rivalry has been even more fun that Katerhine/Bree back in S4. I love everything they are doing here, and look forward to the next round!

    Angie cried over a picture of her mom who she said was dead, but turns out is alive- she just hasn't spoken to her in a while because she's been in hiding/on the run. She spoke Italian. Not the most interesting seeds of info. But it looks like of all people, Katherine might be the first of the housewives to be digging too close to business not hers. As I hoped last week, she saw Angie as a partner in crime for getting Mike back. I was amused by Angie's immediate dismissal of this (now she's got her gun, she doesn't care) but Kat was pushing a bit, and it forced Angie to go to Susan. Now she's got to get Katherine off her back and she may have to manipulate both sides to do it.moreless
