The monkey killed the clown the funniest part of this episode. I love that part.

Gabby is called a bad mother and has Juanita a big B-day party that turns out bad

Bree and the maid have words about Bree's afair giving her insight in to cheating Lynette hires McCluskey's befriend Roy as a handyman who only listens to the man of the house Tom Susan's shots Katherine with the gun from the Bolen's

Nick still has some feelings for Julie

Danny Gives Julie the family gun thats in there real name

Angie talks Katherine out of calling the cops and taking the high road
  • "Then I will pour gasoline onto Katherine and if you love me then you will provide me with a match and an alibi" Susan talking to Mike.

After a dramatic previous episode, the ligther side of Desperate Housewives returns in another excellent episode of the new Season Six.

Firstly, Aisha Hinds who played the maid did a very good job. Her insight into Bree's afair was rather nice to see and the fact Bree couldn't see it herself speaks volumes for her relationships. Good to see Marcia Cross being naughty again.

Lynette and Tom have problems with Roy, Karen M's new fancy man. Lynette's fears about losing control are realised and Doug Savant proves once again that he plays the role of Tom Scavo rather well. The birthday party Gabrielle hosted was highlight number one. The monkey attacking the clown was sooo funny! Gabby is not a bad mother and as Carlos points out her girls are growing up to be strong. Susan and Katherine's feud was highlight number two. Once again Dana Delany plays Mad Old Katherine with delight and when Susan shot her accidentally I was laughing so hard! Let Katherine's schemeing comence.
  • The best thing about 'Everybody Ought to Have A Maid' is Aisha Hinds.

What's the best thing about this episode, ladies and gentlemen? Is it the distinctly insightful, and rather moving, conversation between Tom and Roy about Lynette's inherent need for control? Could it be the wonderfully astute observation by one of the Solis children that 'the monkey's killing the clown'? Or perhaps the continued inclusion of the ludicrously attractive young Danny Bolan, who needs to wear less clothes pronto? Well, frankly, no. It's none of these things. The best thing about 'Everybody Ought to Have A Maid' is Aisha Hinds, one of the best character actors in the business right now, who manages to knock the pants off of pretty much everyone else in the episode in her minor role as the observational hotel maid. She's cropped up in Prison Break and True Blood of late (and in the later, she was bloody fantastic as the kooky Miss Jeanette) and now she's here, providing Marcia Cross with the springboard that she needs to give Bree Hodge some of the most in-character moments she's had in one hell of a long time. The final conversation that the two have is just superb, brash and to the point but loaded with meaning. Finally guys, something to get excited about in this otherwise rather contrived storyline.

The aforementioned highlights are also, obviously, worthy of praise, but a nod should be given to the ongoing mystery surrounding the Bolans for ramping up the tension and the intrigue with the inclusion of the dreaded firearm. Unfortunately, this being Desperate Housewives, the episode wouldn't be complete without a thoroughly contrived slice of out-and-out farce and, lo and behold, good old Susan and Katherine can be relied upon, once again, to come up trumps. Honestly guys... shooting her? Really? And that Neighbourhood Watch meeting... ack! Do we really need to be hammered over the head with Mayfair's incessant lust for her ex and comedy-villain hatred of his lover? It's just tiresome. Get these two out of this thoroughly unenjoyable rut and into some interesting narratives, stat. Then we'd have something good on our hands.
  • After Juanita's friend is hurt during a playdate Gaby is deemed an unfit mother. Things only get worse when the chimp at Juanita's bithday goes on a wild rampage. Meanwhile Katherine and Susan friendship continues to goes down the drain.

This episode was very funny. Gaby letting Jaunita and her friend sled down the stairs in a suitcase was funny. "You better not be using the good suitcase". Katherine raising her hand over and over as Susan ignores her when shes picking people for the heighborhood watch. Then tries to make Katherine Jealous by kissing Mike in front of Katherine. My favorite part was when Susan shot Katherine thinking she was a prowler. Susan:" Katharine". Katherine: "Susan you shot me". The way Katherine said that was so funny. This episode was another good episode. Katherine is getting her edge back. I love how she can be sweet and sour.
  • Good episode.

This was a really funny installment of Desperate Housewives. Was it incredibly great, did it advance any of the storylines that much? No and no, but I found myself laughing throughout the entire show. Eva Longoria Parker was in top form tonight and Dana Delaney turned in another great performance as the mentally disturbed Katherine. I was really hoping this was the end of Bree and Karl as Bree and Orson are the best couple on this show and need to work things out, but it doesn't appear to be headed that way. Season finale reconciliation maybe? We can only hope.
  • A very fun theme on judging others, with a few nice little surprises. Got a few awards to give out here-

    LOL of the Night:

Probably have to give this one to just about everything with Gabrielle this week. Gaby was out to prove that mothers could trust their children with her so she threw the biggest birthday party she could for Juanita. I loved just about all of this- the suitcase sled down the stairs, her sly name-dropping at the park to get the kids excited (clowns, bouncy houses, monkeys), and of course the 'monkey killing the clown' gag with children screaming in terror! Leave it to Gabrielle to have complete victory turn into utter failure! Even Carlos' psuedo-sweet reassurance that Gaby's negligence has actually served in the best interest of their kids, was a cute and surprising nice capper on the plot.

    Speech of the Night:

Surprisingly, the nicest monologue of the evening didn't go to one of the housewives, but to...Tom!

McClusky got Lynette to give her boyfriend Roy some busywork to keep him occupied (McClusky and Lynette have some of the best chemistry on this show, btw) but Lynn was bothered by the way the old foggie kept turning for Tom for the go ahead on projects. "Just cause you like crunching his walnuts doesn't mean I do." Zing! Roy was a lot of fun the last time we saw him, but now he has officially won me over as a great addition to the neighborhood! I liked his old-fashioned mentality, but Tom dropped by near the end to do him one better. His sentiments on letting Lynette control him as the way he makes her feel safe was truly insightful, and makes me look at the great husband in a surprising new light.

    Power Play of the Night:

This one gets a bit complicated- but I'm throwing this award to newcomer Angie. Most of the work was done by Susan and Katherine. After a quarrel at a neighborhood watch meeting, (I really enjoyed how humorously this was played- 'Snaking a lady's drain'- lol) Susan gets the gun from Julie, from Danny, and accidentally shoots a prowler outside the house- Turns out the prowler was Katherine! She's only grazed, but Kat doesn't waste time exploiting being a victim, and Sue doesn't make matters any better by spouting out backhanded threats. (Do we really believe Kat was telling the truth?)

With ambulance/police potential and a gun under the Bolen's real name (hmm?) Angie made some impressive quick thinking decisions. Her and Nick quickly double-teamed the situation, as she got him to retrieve the gun while she took Kat alone with some first aid. Angie (brilliantly) exploited Katherine's emotions by saying she believes Mike could still be hers! It was a genius move to clean up what would have been a real cluster F for her family. There was some Benjamin Linus-level manipulation there (LOST reference) and I am eager to see if this is a one-time lie, or if Angie will further assist in Katherine's crusade. Well played, my dear!

(Oh, and my favorite moment from this was seeing Bree handle that revolver like a pro!)

    Guest Spot of the Night:

Bree also had some very strong moments as she took exception to the disaproving looks from housekeeping at the hotel. Knowing Bree, she just couldn't let this go, and insisted on pressing the matter. The maid turned out to be a great vessel of guilt for Bree's character, and I liked what she had to say about their affair, no matter what the nature or circumstances. I'm giving my rare Guest Spot of the Night award to... THE MAID! She works kind of like a Jamaican Jiminy Cricket for Bree; a conscience, that is trying to lead her to do the right thing. I get the feeling this was a checkpoint/gear shift for the affair; Now is the time to either turn back, or go full throttle.

If you haven't watched this episode, here is the deal. Listen to the opening and closing voice-overs, and you'll know whats this episode is all about. The ladies of Wisteria lane discuss what it is like to be judged, and finally end up judging themselves. Not the strongest storyline you generally expect from a Sunday blockbuster, but Cherry did a good job keeping the comedy track alive. Certain sequences had the occasional spike on an otherwise flat line, like Susan shooting Katherine. I am still looking for the actual mystery to start. What is so freaking mysterious about the Bolen's real identities that drives them insane. It's about time to switch gears guys...
  • Gabby throws Juanita a birthday party that goes horribly wrong; Lynette hires Roy as a housekeeper as a favor to Karen; Katherine and Susan butt heads over Mike at a neighborhood watch meeting; Danny makes a mistake that Nick and Angie must cover up.

    "Great"
Not a groundbreaking episode, but definitely a lot of fun, even if it is mostly "filler." (I'll try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible)

Gabrielle. Is it just me, or is she actually a decent mother? The whole "bad mom" angle didn't do a whole lot for me, although the birthday party was rather amusing.

Lynette. This was the weak link of the episode, in my opinion. It was just...meh. But, Tom truly is a good guy for allowing Lynette to take the wheel in their marriage.

Susan/Katherine. This is so much fun to watch. I figured Katherine was the one who got shot, but thankfully, it was only a surface wound. And the neighborhood watch meeting? Awesome. Bree. Now we're starting to get into the darker territory with Bree's affair. I think this was a good angle to explore for this season. We've never seen Bree so committed to doing something wrong. I just wonder how long she's going to be able to keep lying to herself. And how is Orson going to handle this?

The Bolens. I personally think this mystery has been fantastic. Not much is revealed in this episode, save for a small box with some cash, passports, and a loaded gun - which Danny gives to Julie for protection. We also get to see Angie's sly side, as she convinces Katherine to not call the police on Susan. I wonder if Katherine and Angie are gonna become buddy-buddy? Now that's something I'd love to see!

All in all, not quite the best of the season, but still an enjoyable little romp down Wisteria Lane.

Well this episode was ok a few great parts such as the part when the monkey attacked the clown and the part with Bree and the maid. One thing I don't like is Mike and Susan I've never been a fan of them two as a couple and I know there suppose to be the supercouple of the show but I just don't get it Mike deserves better like me lol. I love how Katherine is this season I didn't like her when she first went on the show but I do now. Nothing against Susan she's just so annoying. But I have one question during this whole episode and last week's to "Why didn't Carl see his daughter Julie at all or talk about at least? Well anyway now Lynette's problem ok I have to agree I would have Roy to if he acting that way to me but Lynette is extremely controling person especially to Tom and I never really understood why until this episode I guess what I'm trying to say is husbands should respect their wives and wives should respect their husbands and I think Roy was just trying to say that to but just in the wrong way.
  • Bree is warned by a maid of her wrongdoings as an attempt to get her to stop; Lynette takes umbrage to Roy's actions as a handyman; Gabrielle fails in proving that she is not a bad mother, and Susan tries to put an end to Katherine's mischief.

The best episode of Season Six, it keeps getting better! I loved every single part of it. The mystery wasn't touched really, but that's good since they're trying to tone down the relevance. The comedy and drama was well-conceived.

Bree's storyline with the maid was good.

The shot heard round the cul-de-sac was excellent and humorous! Especially where Orson asked Bree to unload the gun.

Tom has redeemed himself and Lynette's hormones were released! Susan's lines were excellent. Gabrielle and Carlos have awesome chemistry. That lady got on my nerves. The ending narration was well done and the music was also of great quality.

The best episode that even was reminiscent of Season 1!
