Everything's Different, Nothing's Changed was a perfect episode of Desperate Housewives because it was jam packed with character development for a lot of the characters. This episode really explored human interaction and relationships as well as decisions in life. There were some really relatable and touching scenes. This episode gave a more in depth look into the characters and the plot twists were awesome. This was probably one of if not the best episode of the season so far. There was some irony in this episode as Paul Young's second wife shot herself, and it was interesting to see how this played out. I liked how Susan and Mike's storyline played out as well. Bree and Andrew had their own growth, and it was nice to learn more about Renee as Gaby provided support. Lynett really challenged Tom and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I really look forward to watching the next episode!!!!!!!
After a long break comes an episode that I couldn't say great. And it has to be Felicia again in the end to save the episode. So why call it not that great? The storyline itself is less interesting nor convincing, especially for Bree. I guess the writers are really scratching about her. I mean must Andrew becomes alcholic? Is there nothing else they could think of? I like Andrew, I just hate to see the writers use him as a saver of Bree's storyline whenever they are running out of ideas. What about her decision to donate a kidney to Susan?
And Susan hugs Paul cause she's getting a kidney ... ... huge.
Desperate Housewives returned tonight and while this was not a particularly exciting episode, it was okay for what it was.
The random return of Andrew was a bit baffling, but the scenes with Bree at the AA meeting were kind of amusing, I suppose. At least they got her away from Brian Austin Green, now they just need to find a relationship that works for her.
Lynette's pushing for Tom to get the job was probably the highlight of the episode for me. The Renee scenes were terrible though. Vanessa Williams just is not fitting in well with this show at all. Might be time to cut losses with the show.
Solid episode of DH, but not one I'll rewatch on Lifetime when it does pop up in the rotation.
I must be harsh to DH this time. I felt that this was very weak episode and I actually wanted it to end already.
Lynette and Tom are doing the same thing as always. She pushes him to do something, he tries and fails, then she gets mad and argues with him and she steps in and manipulates with him. I want those two to finally shut up and get a divorce.
Susan and Paul had some touching scenes in this episode, it was good to see taht he is a human being and has feelings too. Felicia tried to manipulate him when he was visting her in jail and I think that she did it right. She is now free and according to her great evil smile at the end it looks like she is getting her revenge after all.
Gaby & Renee look like they get along now. They are almost the same now. Although they had a nice emotional scene at the end and we saw a new side of Renee, it was just a total filler. Some of the lines Renee was given were actually painful to listen to. I was uncomfortable.
I liked Bree & Andrew in this episode. It was nice to see them together again, but all in all ... this episode was not what I expected. A character just blew her brain in the previous episode and it really looks like nothing has changed.
Very dramatic, comedic and at times touching. I disagree about Vanessa Williams not fitting in with the show. She's great but I did think she was channelling her Wilhemina Slater in this ep until it became clear her mother also killed herself. Nice scenes with Gaby. But the writers/producers are not utilising Williams. What has she really done all season? While Susan and Paul had a nice moment which showed Paul as a human being with real feelings. Might not be grief though. Could be guilt...
Anyway, Lynette and Tom's storyline took an interesting turn. Kept the emasculation theme fresh between the two and Bree and Andrew were good in this. His appearance is random and I had no recollection of his marriage to that guy :/ Literally had no clue who he was for about 10 minutes let alone husband! It was just nice to have Andrew back in the fold.
Andrew's back! but he's life has gone to hell since we last saw him (can't actually remember when that was). Its nice to see Bree bond with her son more after the hell he put her through at the start of the show!
Susan and Paul Young - what can I say? such powerful stuff. I felt sorry for Paul again which is strange because he is a evil man. Kudos to the writers and Mark Moses for making Paul an sympethtic character. Kudos to Harriett Samson too - she showed real emotion over poor Beth (even when Martha died she didn't express any emotion) though she might have been faking it so she can be released from jail.....
This was actually a really enjoyable episode of Desperate Housewives and certainly the best since the riot episode.
All of the womens storlyines were good this week...
It was nice to see andrew back on our screens and unbelivable his husband alex also made an apperance, pretty suprising considering we havent seen him since season 5, I enjoyed Bree helping Andrew with his drinking and taking him to AA, Susan also had a good week this week her emotinal scene with paul was fantastic, it was great to see Paul and Susan together especially considering all there history.
Lynettes storyline was ok this week to, there was some genuine tension between tom and lynette in this episode, however i do wonder where the baby has gone, Gaby shared a storyline with Renee this week and i have to say this episode was one of the best for renee as we got to learn some of her past and it was nice to see gaby and renee bonding. The mystery element involving paul and felici was also enjoyaable, felicia's face at the end of this episode was so creepy.
Overall this was a pretty good episode however i do have one major problem with it, last week we found out that bree's kidney was a match for susans and bree was determind to giv susan her kidney and save her life, however in this episode it isnt even mentioned, bree dosnt even say to susan that she was a match ( very lazy writing ) despite that this was a good episode!
This episode was much less enjoyable than the last load and I was quite annoyed by soem of the storylines. Firstly, Tom's storyline with turning down the job was dragged out WAY too long, and I lost my liking of the storyline after the first two minutes.
I also didn't enjoy the Bree storyline. If they are going to dedicate so much time to develop the haracter of Andrew, at least lets see him more often, otherwise this was just pointless.
Gabby & Renee were only slightly more interesting, but the whole party was really weird, considering Beth Young's suicide. However, it was definitely the funniest storyline of the week!
Lastly, Susn's sotryline was definitely the best of the day! I really enjoyed the conversations with Paul Young, and I loved this storyline!
Hope next week is better, as I have really been enjoying Depserate Housewives lately, and I hope the high standard returns next week.
